Not really, but I say pokemon for one reason. If I were hurled into either world I would want pokemon because Digi world is great, if you are also there with other humans. By yourself it won't be that fun where as pokemon world will be fun even if you are by yourself. Hurled in with ten other friends, I don't know. Digimon would be cool with friends and with pokemon, I prefer to be alone, maybe one other person. MAYBE.

I like Digimon more. The show is way better than the Pokemon show. Probably only in my eyes though. The monsters of Digimon look way cooler and are alot stronger than those that dwell within the Pokemon world. A few of the Digimon games could use some work, but I love them nonetheless. The Pokemon games are admittadly better.
No matter which I think is greater, I'll always be a fan of both.

It depends.
Digimon Anime >>>>>>>>>>>> Pokemon Anime Because as we all know, I absolutely loathe the Pokemon anime. As for the Digimon anime, I enjoyed the first three seasons, but I didn't really like the fourth. But the first two seasons were the best.
However, Pokemon Games >>>>>>>>>> Digimon Games. Now, I've never played any Digimon games, but I can already tell you I'll still like the Pokemon games more. They're my fifth favorite video game franchise of all time.
Overall, I would say that I like Pokemon a bit more, but I still love Digimon.
They're both awesome. They were the first animes I ever watched.

OBJECTION!
Hehehe....as much as I like Pokemon, it looks like I'm going to have to prove you n00bs wrong.
Digimon is in no way a ripoff of Pokemon, and the opposite is not true either!
Now, Pokemon and Digimon have lots a similarities. That's to be expected. After all, they are both considered part of the "battling monsters" genre of anime. But they have numerous key differences.
First of all, the first thing I would like to point out is their origins. Pokemon started out as a video game, which they then based an anime, card game, and several other things on. Digimon was originally a virtual pet device, a "Tamagotchi for boys" created by the same company that created the original Tamagotchi. It too, eventually got an anime, card game, video games, and other merchandise.
Let's look at more differences. First of all, Digimon can talk. Pokemon can't. Do you know why? Because Pokemon are essentially animals. They're more intelligent than a dog or a monkey, and some of the Psychic types could defiantly be said to have a human level of intelligence. However, in the end, Pokemon are ultimately intended to be animals. Digimon are not. Digimon are supposed to be human-like. They have human-like intelligence, human-like instincts, human-like behavior. Some of the Digimon are a bit animalistic, but for the most part they are very human-like, and they're supposed to be.
Let's look at another aspect. Violence levels. Pokemon is a lot less violent than Digimon. Sure, Pokemon fight. But when they fight, they only cause the other Pokemon to faint. They don't kill. Sure, Pokemon have died in some of the movies, and references to dead Pokemon are occasionally made in the games, but these are never implied to be because of Pokemon battles. Pokemon battles are basically harmless contests of strength. Digimon, on the other hand, is a lot more violent. Many Digimon use swords, guns, and other weapons. When Digimon fight, it's not a contest of strength. They fight to survive. So when they fight, they fight with the intent to kill or at least seriously injure their foes. Now, since Digimon are digital creatures, they don't "die" in a physical sense, but they instead get deleted. Still, this is still a analogy of death. It's intended to be violent.
But that stuff, it's light stuff really. Let's look at the general theme of the two series. Pokemon is about going around, trying to catch as many of these fantastic creatures as possible to train them to become strong enough to take on the various gyms and eventually the Elite 4. Digimon is about a digital world inhabited by fantastic creatures who go around, fighting to survive and occasionally fighting to save the world.
So, how is Digimon a ripoff? I mean, the themes of the two series have nothing in common except for the fact that they both have "fantastic creatures" in them. And that's because they're in the same genre, the "battling monsters" genre of anime/games/etc. There are plenty of other series out there where the main character goes around with some kind of fantastic creature(s) . Are they all Pokemon ripoffs? No. I don't think Pokemon was what started the battling monster genre. It's one of the most famous examples of the genre, but it didn't start it.
Face it people. Aside from the fact that they both have monsters that can change their form into a more powerful form, Pokemon and Digimon have absolutely nothing in common. And all the people who claim that Digimon is a Pokemon ripoff are n00bs. Seriously, they have nothing in common. Nothing aside from sharing the same genre.
Oh no! Both Mario and Sonic are in the platforming games genre! Mario came out first, so that must mean Sonic is a ripoff of Mario!
^ See that? That's what you guys sound like. Irrational. Just because they have one tiny thing in common, you assume that Digimon is a ripoff of Pokemon. It's not. They're completely different series.
And that concludes my rant for today. Join me next time some n00b says something ignorant, and I dish out a healthy serving of "common sense and logic" for them to chew on. Until then, see ya!

I might be wrong, but I thought Digimon came before Pokemon... either way it doesn't matter all that much in the end. We like what we like, for various reasons.
And I shall be moving this to the Trainer's Lounge, since it seems to be more suited for that forum. 3nodding

Yeah, that's what I thought too at first, but I decided to research it a little before I started my rant so I wouldn't look like an idiot. Although I forget the exact dates, I remember that the first Pokemon games came out in Japan two years before the first Digimon virtual pet came out. I don't think Pokemon had even been release in America by then.
