It occured to me I started this guild in January 2007, and I never really got around to explaining what the purpose of this guild is. So what exactly is the theme of the Dragon Masters Guild? On the main page you see the yin and yang. That's EXACTLY what the theme of this guild is.
At DMG we focus on two of the most popular forum topics: roleplaying and general discussion.
When I first bought the guild I intended for it to only be a roleplaying guild, nothing more. But the more I thought about fighting fictitious dragons, the more I thought about the dragons that I fight every day outside of Gaia.
Yes, we try to roleplay as often as possible. I refer to these threads as Outer Dragons. As of right now we don't have enough RPers to get anything other than Dragons of Lutaine really going. (And even that is starting to fall apart.) But we aren't always online at the same time and what often happens in roleplay forums is that stories stall for a bit of time when everyone becomes busy, and it doesn't get started up again for a while.
That's why I added a second aspect to the guild. Inner Dragons. I myself am an intellectual person. I think a lot, and I have a lot to say. I'm sure most of you do too, and I also like to think that this guild is a place where anyone can feel comfortable. A guild is like a second family right? So don't be shy to post your thoughts and feelings. We all struggle with things in our lives, and the real world is just as tough a battle as the fantasy world.
So what I'd like to see is you guys starting your own threads. Have something on your mind? Share it. Got a good idea for a roleplay? Set it up! We're all human here...well...except for in games. Get to know each other and relax. This guild is your haven, your home away from home.
As the owner of the guild I hope you all feel comfortable coming to me with any questions or concerns you may have. Even dragons fall sometimes...but they get back up.
