What type of weapons does the SCA use ? Boffer, Latex, Wood, What?

Could've sworn they used rattan, not that I'm in the SCA or anything.

If I'm correct in what I've experienced with SCA (meaning we had to share a campground with them once) They pad their people, not their weapons. They have strict armor regulations, but I think they use hard wooden-type weapons...at least when their fighting.
They're also reenactors (as far as I know) and use live-steel when not in combat. I could be thinking of a different group, though.

i went to there website, they use rattan coverd in duct tape. And lots of armor. Does anybody know what the armor requirements are?

We use padded pvc pipe for youth and just plain rattan for adults.

How young is young? 16 under or 18 under?

Theres different age groups for the youth and adault is usually 16 at the youngest.

hmmmm. Ill have to look that up. Im not a heavy(adult) fighter, but I mainly see the metal armor, not chainmail. Ill look into it.

Chainmail is fine, but if you get hit in the elbow, it will hurt alot more than metal armor
