Recently, Crimson and myself have noticed some of the join requests and that new members were joining and not posting at all - hence Crimmy starting the inactivity ban. The problem with the situation i've noticed is that some players are joining PURELY for the reason that they believe this group will become famous. Let me make this clear - Legion X is merely a discussion forum. We are a hidden guild so we can build our theories, compare, check our facts and grammar - and for other good reasons i can't immediately recall. sweatdrop We were not created in hopes of becoming another Believers or Gaians in Black. We were not created for the purpose of role playing. That is all.

Although I agree that it is important to protect against those people who just want to be recognised, I disagree with this being a hidden guild. If it's hidden people can't even see that really. There should just be guidelines for the entry form on the home page and caution should be used when reading them.

Yes but if it isn't a hidden guild then people can steal our theorys for their own.

We should stay hidden, but in order to ensure that we bring in guild members that truly "fit" with the guild mission, I think we ought to make the application a bit more detailed. We should ask for answers to specific questions to truly see if a member is worth enlisting. As it is there are no specific application guidelines.

Now that we have established a foothold on Gaia we do need to better the application proccess.
As far as the plot goes, I for one will not hesitate IF the plot comes our way. If LabTechX came knocking on our door I for one would let him in and so would you. So don't bash story guilds, they can be a great asset to Gaia. If an X related plot takes hold we're going to be first in line to take advantage of it.

I agree those seeking fame only hinder our performance.

I don't think Wolf is saying that we shouldn't accept opportunities to become part of the main Gaia plot.
We just shouldn't allow that to become our prime motivation.

But at the moment, we need to do things like Valko suggested. If the REAL LabtechX (not the impostor) came up in the story, SURELY we should take advantage. However, we must be patient and realistic.

Then again, with vague (but at least a few) guidelines for the join applications we could also weed out people that don't deserve to join. If someone really has a good reason to join they'll be able to tell us.
I predict many "I missed the Zurg plot and I like X so I should join please. =D" applications.
