[ Continued from this thread, since apparently I can't post in it XD. ]
Murring softly, the older female couldn't help but enjoy the spunk and internal flame that the cub had acquired already, making her smile internally as she watched her fuss around about the area and whatever pride had inhabited here - as far as she could tell. But that all softened up when she heard the words fall out of the cubs mouth about a brute that she can only assume had found his demise before she herself had made her way to the oasis.
"He sounds like a sultry brute who wouldn't have lasted two days if I had a say in it.. Lakeisha, it does have such a wonderful ring to it, but it does seem like you are not attached to it, due to.. whatever history this area seems to have.. it feels ominous." she answered, with a heavy voice, showing her distaste for those who are dishonest with their lives, her eyes scanning around her before she heard the little lasses question.
"I suppose one so young as yourself wouldn't recall.. there is a pride, or well.. a sheer amount of land that this pride is head of.. we are known as Motoujamii.. or the Firekin. Pelts of red and hearts so bold even our lionesses would out last a rogue male if we had to." she stated, as she looked to the cub once more, a sweet, soft smile making a way on her muzzle, it had not taken long for this cub to captivate her. For that reason, all she could finish with was.
"I can take you there, away from this horrible affair.. I'm sure you'd enjoy it much more than this confinement.."

Lake had to admit she rather liked the attention she was being given, flopping herself down into the sand by the large firekin's paw, pushing it around with her own tiny ones. Only now that she had big female paws to compare them to could Lake actually see how big her paws were going to be someday. At least, in her mind, how big they were supposed to be. Oh yes, she much preferred the less-than-stranger to the more-than-strangers of her pride.
She crinkled her nose without meaning to when Tamu was added to the mental image. Ugh, how she'd be -greatful- to have that stupid whining whore out of her life. She wouldn't continue to rant about her out-loud, though.
She purred as she looked up to Sundya as her 'father' was relayed back to her then couldn't help but laugh when her name was brought up to be the topic of conversation. "La-ke-ee-shaw. 'Favorite one'." she repeated, parroting back what she'd heard her own name to supposedly mean. In her mind, it was indeed a horrid thing. "Obviously not if nobody around here can handle me." she added, crossing her paws, but finding she needed to uncross them again to sit herself up, as she couldn't do both at the same time.
Woe.
"Fire-kin.... Kin is 'family' and fire is.." she paused, trying to find a good word to describe it with, her face crinkling, before she finally settled on "...Hot." Yeah, a real poet right there. The description of the pride made her chest puff up a bit, her pride all but spilling over. "Hee! I can outlast anybody here! I mean.. I can already hunt stuff and everything!"
However, she wasn't exactly sure she wanted to go and show 'mommy' all the dead birds she'd smeared all over the place. Might get in trouble for that one.
It didn't even take her half a second to consider the offer, Lake was already up on her paws and zipping about in an excited manner. "Reallyreallyreally?" A beam and grinning, showing off all her sparkly teeth. She did a good job getting all the blood off of 'em! "I'll be good! Promise!" she added. 'Good' being defined as 'I won't kill every small animal I see for the hell of it'. Meaning she'd come up with excuses why she would instead.

A sweet chuckle couldn't help but find it's way on the maw of the larger darker feline as she smiled down to this bundle of energy as she recited what the meanings of her pride were.. to an extent. A poet she was not, but she did get to the bottom of things, and with a nod, Sundya decided to help. "Fire is also wild, and strong, and every growing if given the chance. It can consume and fuel, but also can hinder and harm. Never to be taken lightly." she prosed, her tail whipping softly behind her in amusement over her homeland's name.
"I am sure you will make a wonderful Firekin, you definitely have the spunk and hunting is always a wonderful asset. I learnt how to do that all by myself when I was your age." she mused contention, before cocking her head to the side. "But.. my dear is there anyone in this forsaken land of a dead king in which you wish to say farewells too? Anyone here whom holds anything up for you?" she asked politely, knowing how it must feel to leave so suddenly without a hide or hair of your loved ones being seen to bid farewell to.
"Finally, before we leave, I would assume it would be best to discard the name that you were given whilst you were kept her; it doesn't seem like such a suitable name for one who was born under such a unwelcomed home." she started, as she thought deep within her, for a name that would suit her as far as the firekin borders, and even the Pridelands, if be. "How about... Uri. Heh.. it means.. My little flame" She stated, sweetly, as a mother would tell her child.

Her eyes sparkled in admiration while Sundya spoke, enchanted by the sound of the strength that she'd been easily convinced she was born from. Afterall, she'd be MUCH better as a Firekin than an.. oasiskin. Or whatever it was she'd been stolen away to. Lake also beamed in pride, the fur on her chest puffing up as she was complimented on being able to hunt her small prey already, convinced that she'd be the best huntress EVER when she grew up.
The white lion seemed to think REALLY hard t'see if there was anybody she needed to bid farewell to, racking her brain, before shaking her head. "I don't have anybody I care enough about to let them know I'm leaving." she announced, her expression in a bit of a pout, though a cute one. She was far too young to have truly developed any 'attachment' to the place she'd cursed since she was born.
Again, her violet eyes began to sparkle when 'mommy' stated that she needed a more suitable name, enchanted by the concept of getting a better name than the stupid 'Lakeisha' she was born with, or at least given. Nobody was born with a name, once she thought about it. In fact, she sat at attention, waiting as Sundya thought about a new name for her.
She perked up to her feet when the red lioness started to speak, excited to see what would come of it.
My little flame, Uri
It was perfect! Or at least she seemed to think so, a big grin forming over Lake- no, Uri's face as she was rechristened with it, purring and rubbing her head against her 'mother's' leg. "It's perfect!" she announced proudly. Indeed, Uri liked it.

It had been almost too easy, the admiration and respect that the cub had for her had made the heart of the firekin burst into flames again, content with life and whatever she had come out here for. In all honestly, she still remembered; it had been to find that strange land past the firekin home. Somewhere where everything flourished and life was grand. But this was definitally something better than some land out in the middle of nowhere.
Even if that was where they were, really. Whatever.
With a happy murr and a nudge on her Uri, yes, HER Uri's side playfully, and, to her amusment, somewhat motheringly, she looked towards the way she had found herself in this thicket of oasis land, finding that they way out would be best to follow her own footfalls.
"Well then, my little Uri, I think it would be safe to say we should make our way out of there then." she started, as she looked to the while lioness into the making once more "If you have no bonds here, I would assume we shoudl make our way back to our lands. It's a bit of a stretch, but we can do it."
With that said, she started back home, Follow the sunrise.

Uri toppled onto her side with a giggle as she was nudged by Sundya, or rather, her mother, attempting to paw back at the large lioness before she made her escape from her grasp, fumbling a bit to hop back up to her paws and follow after the red lioness, pausing as she looked back at the Oasis a bit, pondering what the interest in it was, in lingering.
"Home?" she said, sounding almost in disbelief that such a place for her existed. But if mother said it did, then it -must- have. So with a bit of trouble, caused by her paws sinking in the sand while she herself was not that big in comparison, she followed the firekin along with a bit of a skip, her tail whipping at the air that had been her prison.
A bit of a stretch? "It'll be a short trip in comparison." Uri beamed, though in comparison to 'what' she wouldn't say, simply following along after Sundya, using the lioness's pawprints to support her tiny body from sinking into the sand of DOOM.
It was time to leave the prison of life in the surrounding area of death into the life she was meant for.
Favorite one left behind, little flame accompanying the flame of the sunrise of her life. Lake was gone forever and it was time for Uri to go home.
