Impure and Pure; An Elemental Battle
Over the years Light and Dark have fought over who controlled the elements. Light believed that he should, claiming that most of them were 'pure'. But Dark would retort saying that Fire, although cleansing, was more 'impure'. And so it raged on for centuries, the two fighting until Dark suggested both her and him grant four people each an elemental power, Light's blessed would use the purer parts of their elements where as Dark's selected would facilitate the more impure part of their elements. From there she proposed that these eight would fight it out for which would gain control of the elements permenitally. There will be three rounds, they decided, over the years, which ever entity's side won over the other group would win a point for either Light or Dark. At the end of the three rounds who ever has the most points has control over the elements.

Rules
[1]
Characters are allowed one element, be it pure or impure. They get to choose from the traditional four; Earth, Air, Water or Fire. No making up any and let's get all eight of the elemental characters before anyone else. In addition Light and Dark are NPCs which Kidalana will play when required.

Respect Kidalana and obey her wishes, please don't start a fight with me for no reason. That makes me extremely mad. Stay with this RP, it's a literate long term role play so I expect at least five lines per post. Choose a colour and a font between size eight and eleven.
[3]
No all powerful characters, each has their own weaknesses and each has their own strengths. This role play takes place in a modern like time so please keep with that. Don't control others characters and when in fights do not double post. In general, do not double post. It's rather annoying. However, if you are posting with a different character you may double post as then it's not seen as so.

Use OOC markers for out of character comments and keep them short and sweet. There shall be no bumping as that is terribly annoying. Any and all questions, or comments should be PMed to Kidalana. Same goes with completed profiles, title the PM 'Elysion' please and thank you. ^-^

Elements
Pure || Blessed by Light
Air || Air is by nature usually a pure element, blessed by light flight is extremely simple and the gentle element can easily move the air.
Earth || Earth is typically neutral, there are no real differences to Earth when blessed by either entity.
Fire || Fire leans towards being impure but once blessed can be used as a cleansing sort of thing. The Light Fire user will find ghosts and other spirits tend to gravitate to him or her more as they realize to find complete rest they must be cleansed by fire.
Water || Water is another typically pure element, blessed by light they can use their healing abilities extremely well and are more at peace with their element.
Impure || Gifted by Dark
Air || Air, although traditionally pure, once corrupted the user can gain the more harmful measures of this gentle element. Examples would be throwing the wind so fast that it's sharp as blades.
Earth || Earth is neutral, and therefore Dark was unable to make 'impure'.
Fire || Fire is often considered impure, meaning when gifted by Dark the more destructive and often deemed 'true' nature of the element appears. It cannot, on this side, be used for cleansing.
Water || Water was rather hard to make impure and cannot use any sort of healing gesture in this state. Instead Dark's Water elemental gets the knack for poisons.

NPCs
Light enjoys taking the appearance of a boy, for what ever reason that may be. As such he tend to be the calmer and more mature of the two. For whatever reason he most often can be seen reading on some sort of cultural thing. He is the male on the left and doesn't like to try and control the nature of mortals. Often times though he has to interfere and either fix the mess that Dark created or prevent her from creating one. This always annoys him greatly and often times she'll know he's mad.
Dark has choosen to be female, especially since Light is her polar opposite in addition to a boy. Unlike him she tends to be extremely childish and looses focus quickly. Her hair colour, has frequently changed over the years. She is the female on the right and unlike her counter part the spends plenty of time messing with mortals lives, or 'normal people' as she likes to call them. It could be something simple or something larger. When Light comes in to fix her mayhem she always laughs at his anger.

[Personality] Armand is, to say the least, different from the other children. First, there's his appearance, next is the fact that he's supposed to be 18. Generally, he acts like a grumpy old man. He's very careful about what he does and says, and he does practically nothing that could get him in trouble or hurt. Armand would rather spend his time reading the newspaper or researching something than play outside with the other children. Armand is also a very frustrated child... He hates the fact that his mother turned him into a child and is trying his very hardest to break the spell.
[Appearance] Armand has shoulder-length feathery white hair that parts above his right (?) eye. He has Acid-green eyes and a star tatooed under his left eye. (The tatoo is something his mother made him get when he turned 15.)
[History] Armand never knew his father. He grew up with his mother, who worked most of the time. To say the least, Armand took care of himself throughout most of his childhood. His mother couldn't stand it, she always said that he should go out and play with his friends instead of worrying himself with housework and school. For his fifteenth birthday, she went out and got him a star tatooed on his cheek. Said mother knew that it was her fault that he didn't have a "proper" childhood. So, she found herself a magic spell and turned him back into a child. She informed him that he would stay this way until he learned to "act his age".
Armand has no clue what that is supposed to mean, though. Is he supposed to act like he's 18 or like he's 8?
[Other]Armand is very angry with his mother and is currently not speaking with her.
He's studying all kinds of articles online and off to figure out how to undo the spell.
At the rate he's going, he's never going to be returned to his real age... Earth

[Personality] The twenty year old is a very loving sort of person. She makes friends easily and just as easily gets upset when she looses friends. Unlike most fire-users she doesn't have a temper to match and can be quite a push over. In battle Melody is her strongest when defending others.

[History] Melody's family has been fragmented for as long as she can remember, having siblings on either side of her and relatives living in the house with her already large family, she rarely got the attention she needed as she grew up. With her parents having no expectations of her anymore due to the discovery of her silence Melody was not encouraged to do well in school or even complete her school work. If she had wanted to drop out of her school then, no doubt, it would have gone over well and she would have been able to move on and do whatever. Regardless of no encouragement she studied hard and did as well as she could in her various classes, moving from grade to grade and keeping the few friends she had with her close. In a sudden athletic spurt she joined the tennis team only to soon give up and take up the available spot on the school's rifle team. However when college approached some difficulty came up as to which one she would choose, the friends that she'd kept so close moved on at this time and the only contact from them she got was various letters. After careful selection Melody choose a college and studied as hard as she could, preforming well in this setting as well. The college she choose was outside her home town so she choose an apartment near by and made her first purchases there be a motorcycle and a simple hand gun. With the motorcycle she has to spend any sort of spare time she has in maintaining it and the gun is to defend herself in case the need arise. So far the only goals she has set for herself is to graduate soon, and after college she'll figure out what to do with the rest of her life.
[Other] Contrary to her name Melody cannot sing, and nor can she speak. Instead she communicates using sign language or writing down what she wants to say on a note book that never leaves her hand. Water

Equal Parts Of...

Whatever his opposite had done a few moments ago to mess up how things went was now fixed and the blond haired man sat down in one of wooden chairs in his library. As a greeting it creaked, his own reply was a smile and leaning onto the matching desk that was now in front of him, littered with paper, pens, a few open books and a lamp standing on the desk. The thought to clean it came to mind but soon left. It seemed that he had, over the years, grown quite fond of seeing wood, the floor was wooden, the book shelves were, the chairs and tables as well. Mostly a dark color, with a hint of red, the books he'd all read but yet what else was he to do? Other then baby-sit the pink haired woman who seemed to cause trouble to no end... but it seemed he was stuck with that for something to do. Sighing lightly he reached his hand out to turn on the lamp on the desk, for comforts sake, he could probably at least start another book before she caused any more trouble. Though someone like her didn't seem the type to stay out of trouble easily... sighing once more he pulled the book over to himself and began reading.

Angry she slammed the door behind her and walked quickly across the tile floor, what was it that made him stop her from doing anything fun? Entering the kitchen she walked across the tile floor there and heard the sound of her shoes against the hard surface. The counter was rather clean, with a few pots and pans still out that the pink haired woman had yet to put away. Regardless, she'd be using them soon, "Who does he think he is?" she exclaimed aloud, not intending for someone to hear it other than herself. Opening one of the cabinets she looked at the various shelves, ignoring the misplaced cups and plates and grabbed the flour from it's place in front of a few mugs, "And what's with the constant bad mood?" staking the packaged ingredient she placed it onto the counter and slammed the door to the cabinet shut, smiling briefly. There was no way he could see something wrong with baking a cake, right? Which led to the assumption that she'd be able to entertain herself before he started meddling in what she was doing once again.
