So I've been breastfeeding since Alora came home from the hospital. Now I have a very important question. If I got pregnant, would my breast milk stop flowing or would nothing change? I only ask because I'm paranoid. I just got off of the shot 3 or 4 weeks ago, and we aren't very protective otherwise. Anyone know?
Also, some good tips on weaning? Alora is self weening, but it still pretty reliable on it.

Alora is self weening, but it still pretty reliable on it. Try pumping milk and giving it to her in a sippy cup and make a big deal out of drinking out of big girl's cup... It is a hard one for me cause the longest I breast fed was 4 months and the least was 8 weeks cause I got sick after my daughter had pneumonia at 3 weeks, I got it 3 or 4 weeks later.. and 3 months with the first cause I got mastitis and it was really really painful...

I remember my dad saying that my great-grandma breastfed my grandpa, but that when she got pregnant she had to quit because he milk went sour. (My grandpa and great aunt were only 1 year a part, so she would have gotten pregnant when he was only a few months old.) I don't know if that happens to all mothers, or what...
I tried breastfeeding, but I was a brand new mom, and I found it really hard to keep up feeding two babies and all the other stuff that comes with being a new mom. I like the idea she had of putting it into a sippy cup.

breast feeding didn't work out for us sadly. we did try...She just couldn't latch on properly. I think my breasts possibly were to big. I don't know.
anyways she was loosing weight so we switched to formula to help her gaine some..then she never wanted togo back to the breast. She was happy with a bottle...and I was fine with that. Makes life a little easier, not cheaper though lol
anywho, I agree with the sippy cup try that. Like take her to the store and let her pick out her own sippy cup..make it a huge deal.
annnd I think thats a wives tale about your milk drying up or becoming sour. Just keep pumping and your body will continue to produce what it needs.
In the wild, it makes sense that women would continuiously have children. (atleast in my mind, men being like they are) So...in that type of gap between pregnancies, you would think your breast milk would have to stay put (for lack of a better term) in order to provide for the second baby.Atleast if humans still lived in the wild.
I also was reading on babygaga.com this same question pretty much and every one was telling this lady that it wouldn't matter. Your body will continue to make whatever it needs to make. Im definatly not an expert though, I would do a lil online research or ask your doctor about that one.

After a rough start because my son was tongue tied (meaning his tongue wouldn't stick out his mouth far enough to latch) we finally started breastfeeding but it was kinda late, and I felt like I was playing catch up. From 2 months he was about 50/50 formula and breast. and by 4 months, I had to stop all together. Ironically, I got pregnant again once he turned about 5 months old... so *shrugs* I haven't had to deal with it.
From what I've read tho, you can breast feed a baby and be pregnant at the same time.
If you don't have issues with breastfeeding so far, then you should be able to do it just fine... but talk to your doctor about it.
