Ramza raced through the halls, he had lost track of Lady Serenity, "aaaghhh!" he yelled as he ran down the hall, his staff strapped to his back, "where is she, where is she?" he asked himself. He was distraught, almost running into people much more important than him with every corner he took, "LADY SERENITY!!!" he yelled, Ramza knew no one in the game but her, without her he was lost, and he ad no idea where she was, ergo he was lost. He held a book in his hand, he had been reading in the marketplace when he realized that today was the day he was going to tell her...it wasn't an ideal time to reveal his feelings for her, but even if he had the rest of his life to do it that would give him a few weeks, regardless he had forgotten to put the book back and left without paying for it, he wasn't really sure why he ran, to tell her or because he had stolen a book from the marketplace.

"ahh" Ramza gathered his things, "I'm so sorry, have you seen--" he looked at the person he collided with, it was none other than Gabrielle. "oh...uhh..." Ramza stuttered, "let me help you up Lady Serenity, I'm so sorry" he offered her his hand, "I...uhh..." he froze up, not in the game of course, the game was running smoothly enough, he was nervous and it showed, "I got you this book" he lied, handing it to her. I'm going to have to pay that bookkeeper next time I'm in his shop he thought, he couldn't do it, he couldn't let her know, at least not yet, not in the midst of all this chaos.

"yes Lady Sereni....Serenity" Ramza gave a bow, he was blushing, she had given him a hug. "..." he was uncertain whether he should ask about it, "so Serenity, have we made any progress on finding the cure yet?" he asked, they were slowly dying, there was no denying it, but the game was the only source of hope they had, the prize at the end be the cure, but no one knew that for certain, modern medicine hadn't found the antidote, Ramza found one source of humor in it all, since the cells no longer worked, they were technically already dead, they were by definition the living dead.

"I see" Ramza walked across the stones without looking, he just walked forward, sure of each step, "don't worry Serenity, we'll find the keys and everything will be all right" he smiled, he hated to see her down, so he decided to do something he thought might cheer her up, he turned and began walking across the stones, still not looking at his feet, "you'll be fine, I promise", but this time he took a wrong step purposefully, but making it look like an accident the best he could, he fell into the water.

She jumped up "Oh no, Ramza!" could he swim? She didn't know, the top of the water was once again covered over with the flowers floating on top. Before she could think about it Serenity was jumping in after him.

The water below was just as clear as it was above. Looking around Serenity felt panic rising in her when she couldn't see Ramza. Turning around her panic turned to dread as she saw him laying at the bottom of the pool. She knew he wasn't dead or he would have disappeared, and been gone for good. She swam to the bottom of the pool as curious fish were swimming around him. Serenity put her arms around him and pushed off of the bottom. Please be okay.

She was half way up before she realized she could teleport faster than trying to get him out of the pool. In a moment they were lying on the bank, unfortunately he was on top of her. "Ramza," she pushed his heavy body over breathing hard as she checked his... he was breathing! "Ramza you faker!" she smacked his chest too relieved to be mad.

She got an idea, turning she looked at him under her lashes. "Actually..." Crawling over to him, Serenity pushed him back down roughly and bent over him, so their bodies wer pressed together and her face his. "I think you could help me with something..."
