I am really struggling right now with worrying. i don't think that worrying itself is a sin but when it practically consumes you it can be.and God wants you to bring all of your burdens to Him. All the time the "what if's" run through my head. i try to be positive but it's so hard. I just want to ask that ya'll would be praying for me. i'm really trying to give it all to God but i don't really know how i guess.

I know the feeling. Somehow, when I was afraid that my father was going to lose his job and that we would all have to find a small house in an emergency financial crisis, 'consider[ing] the lillies of the field' didn't come to mind. People are designed to worry at some points in their lives, and it's just another challenge the Father wants us to overcome before we can go home. I find solace through a worldveiw found in Thomas a Kempis's The Imitation of Christ.

Essentially, there are two types of consolation. Human consolation, and divine consolation. The being consoled only by human consolation will continue to suffer, worry, et cetera. However, the being consoled by divine consolation will be able to endure it without too much of a problem. Worry is a form of human consolation, because it allows you to take refuge in worried thoughts. (I'm not explaining it too well, but go along with me.) The divine alternative is not to dismiss the thoughts from your mind, but rather to increase your time in prayer and your time with God in general: (i.e. stay at church a little longer, take a few long walks.)

Thus, by this method, you will have placed your trust in God to maneuver everything as He sees fit. Worry is, in essence, the desire for things to go according to your will and not God's. By letting go of your will (I know it's hard, I havent done it yet either), God's will shall become clear, natural, and beautiful.
