Locked, you have to have a key. In this back room lies the power core that allows the building to run and function on it's own. This is tied in with the security systems, whos main components lay in here as well. The power core is run with some advanceded technology, exact details are unimportant since really no one should need to do anythign then minor maitenece occasionally. Also inside this core is a gem, thus allowing the magical abilities of the building.
