The inevitable question has popped up. Who is your favourite member of The Doors?
Now I don't want to see EVERYONE saying Morrison. Because he's just a singer, and Krieger and Manzarek wrote a majority of the hits. Tell me who, why, and what's your favourite work by them.
My favourite would be Ray Manzarek. He's a fantastic keyboard player, and he's way underrated. My favourite work would probably be... Moonlight Drive, or Touch Me.

But they are all amazing.

there's something wonderful about each of them...
Ray is like the dad. He's the wisest and prolly the most musical of the members. And i know it's irrelevent, but the fact that he's stayed with his wife, Dorothy, all throughout their career (and is still with her) makes him a real admirable person. He seems like a really cool, down to earth guy.
Robby is just an amazing player, nough said. he's trained in flamenco, the world's most difficult guitar style (trust me, i've tried.) not to mention, Robby is the writter for many of their MAJOR hits, Light My Fire and Touch Me to name a few.
John. I love John. He's like the little kid. Every taping of every live performance shows how much he really loves the music and how much he loves drumming. John also has incredible improv skills (he can play off of anybody so well)
Jim is Jim. The thing about Jim that is so special to me personally is the fact that he is the singer. I'm a singer. I get it.

Ray Manzarek because he wears glasses and plays keyboard like me! mrgreen
My favorite work? Man that's hard....probably Light My Fire or The End. I'm trying to learn the opening to Light My Fire right now. Not from books or anything, I just try to play along as well as I can and goof around until it sounds right. That's what I do on guitar. I've got it down except for that opening.....I persevere though!
