...if anyone would like to do a full song for a collab. Like, writers, singers, guitarists, people who could mix it, etc. I can sing, I have a microphone for that and I can record MP3's and junk. If anybody's interested, reply! I need something to do.

I'd love to! It's the sort of thing the guild was started for. I write, mostly, but I sing as well.

I might be interested, but it depends. I'm going to be busy for the rest of the month. I personally like the idea of collaborative projects across mediums (like music and film, or music and dance or theatre, etc). I write music, I can sing and play piano, and I can edit film. I have Final Cut Express for film editing. I also have Logic Express for music editing (with the capability of editing it to film), and an extended library of orchestral sounds so that if I write for an orchestral setting, they actually sound like real instruments (with the exception of trumpets... according to my prof, there has yet to be a library that perfects the sound of a trumpet... but I don't think it sounds too synthy...). Anyways, just an idea.

@Sworn: Yes harmonies! Whole chord harmonies - love those. <3 I do any style - rock, jazz, pop, R&B, etc. I live in British Columbia, Canada.

Asemo I live in British Columbia, Canada. Cool. I do too... sort of. And Ontario. Recently, I've been spending more time in BC, though officially I'm a resident of Ontario. I was just thinking of those songs that mix rock and classical music; like having drums, electric guitar, etc, with violins, clarinets, horns, etc, and sometimes choir. I find them to be very interesting musically, but also quite enjoyable. If we were to do something like this, I could do the "classical" side. It would have to be carefully mixed. Vocal melody written first, then the first third or so written for the "rock side". Then the classical side written for that first third. After that, maybe decide on whether or not there'll be any sort of musical bridge that would have classical step forward, or perhaps classical playing as background (instead of drums) to the electric guitar, or something like that. Eh, I dunno. This is just a suggestion of a direction we can take this. The instruments I'm weakest at writing are guitar and drums. I can write fairly well all other western instruments (strings, winds, brasses, and keyboards... plus choir... oh, but not accordian).

Oh - Just out of curiosity - What part of BC?

UBC... I mean, Vancouver. Heh, it's like I never leave campus... (well, that's not completely true, I did yesterday! ...to get a cinnamon bun... oh, and go to my chiro appointment).
Well, if we're going to do a project like what I suggested, we'll need to figure out who's doing what. And we'll need someone to coordinate it... I don't really want to be a coordinator, my organizational skills aren't the best. I like coming up with ideas to pass off to others to do. Anyways, we'll probably need the following (after getting someone to keep it all organized): -lyricist -singer and vocal melody composer -guitarist -drummer -bass guitarist -composer for guitar and drums and bass (may or may not be the same as the player for the instrument) -composer for classical background music (moi, and I'll also do the recording. It'll be midi, but as I said before, I have an extended electronic library of sounds for orchestral instruments, so it should sound good). -someone to mix it all together (I can do that too, if you want) -somewhere to post the music online (I have no idea how to do this) -anything else? Am I forgetting something in terms of the 'rock' side of things? Maybe a second vocalist for harmonies?

I don't need to anything else but sing, actually. It's what I like best.
Anywho, anyone in the guild with these skills, COME AND HELP!
