OK, now the Fundies are really starting to scare the living shitsticks out of me. Probably because I happen to live in the state these nutjobs have targeted for invasion.

http://www.christianexodus.com/

Christian Exodus is a website is run by Cory Burnell, leader of a group of hyperconservative, "persecuted" Christians who are apparently planning to populate South Carolina and secede from the union.

It's another one of those groups run by people who interpret "freedom of religion" to mean "freedom to impose my religion on you and everyone else whether you like it or not."

While they claim to be operating under their Constitutional rights, their mission seems to be a cleverly disguised quest to follow Donald Rumsfeld, Rick Santorum, and many others in their attempts to promote the use of the Constitution for target practice and, ultimately, as a good old-fashioned roll of Puritan toilet paper.

I honestly hope this turns out to be nothing more than a clever work of satire. But, given the fact that there are many people who do think like this, the chances aren't very good.

They number themselves in the thousands. Even assuming this is right, the population of SC is in the millions. As usual, we can take comfort in the fact that the sane vastly out number the crazies.

Hate to say it, but they look legitimately ******** not too awfully concerned. I'm still armed, and prepared to defend myself against the crazies if need be.

You're right, but the thing that bothers me the most about this is that if these whackbolts were to carry out a mass exodus into the state, they'd undoubtedly get lots of support from the tens of thousands of fundies statewide.

Of course, the main advantage of this maneuver is that if they fail, it'll be a tremendous blow to their PR machine and they'll come out looking like the self-righteous, overconfident holier-than-thous they are.

I doubt it. I live in a fairly Christian community in central Pennsylvania (which is kinda like SC), and the only fundies I've ever seen were on TV. Anyway, before this group gets anywhere near large enough to be a threat, they will become too big to keep the same unity of purpose that they have now. But I don't think it will ever get that big, because even in the depths of South Carolina, the sane outnumber the crazies. Wrap those last few words around you like a warm blanket.

You mean they don't already? I mean come on, it's not really an "exodus", more like an entrance.

Xal
why South Carolina?

Because apparently, quite a few people in South Carolina share Christian Exodus' values and goals.

And besides, what better way to invade a state than from the inside?

Strange. I feel like they got the wrong "South" state. I mean they're pretty big on the whole pro-life thing and what better place to stage a mass exodus to than the first state to set such a wide reaching ban on abortion: South Dakota.

I say all the non-hyperChristians make lots of little non-hyperChristian babies and all move to South Carolina. Make their takeover impossible. Mwah.Hah.Hah.

Eh, don't worry about it. It'll never happen.

Now excuse me while I go slaughter some unborn babies. 4laugh

Excellent. Save me a fetusburger.

Why that made me think of Myspace, I'll never know. However, I do love me some grilled placenta, too. :3
