How excellent! Just as I was preparing to depart Gaia, a Rare Event appeared! biggrin I have gained an Enchanted Golden Trunk! I have not as yet decided if I shall open it. I put it away in my storage trunk whilst I ponder the matter. I know someone who gained a Starfield Wall Tile from such a trunk, but we (Eirwyn, Doctor_Whatsit and I) tend to have poor luck with trunks. Have you found any Rares as yet? What sort? Did you open them, sell them, or give them away? And if you opened them, what did you receive?
Also, has anyone seen a Pink Link? That is a rare we have never seen as yet.

surprised How astonishing! I received a PINK INK in my DC for today! Perhaps the Gaian Administrators are attempting to curb the wild ink inflation.

I got an orange ink yesterday. Very pretty. I think my students would have liked to have had their papers corrected with orange ink. smile

Yes, we're still getting purples & pinks on a semi-regular basis (except Whatsit, who gets brown a great deal lol ). It's definately bringing the rare ink prices down.

I have heard there are some new Rare Event items in the gift boxes! Has anyone else heard such things around Gaia?

Got another orange ink this morning. Rhi got a brown giftbox last week. I haven't spoken with anyone who has discovered a Pink Link yet.

I got a bottle of white ink today. It does look like the ink sales on the MP are still going strong. I think I'll hang on to my inks for now. If Gaia created yet another use for the inks (the flower bouquets being the first), it may come up with more uses later on.

Has anyone received one of the bizarre and rather disgusting new rare items in Daily Chance? Since they are of great worth at the Marketplace, the only use I can see for them is to sell them. Whyever would anyone wish to keep anyone else's used underwear? :X

I, and my friends, have gotten several magic trunks, and I always open them. (I would be a disaster on the "Deal or No Deal" TV show. I would just keep opening cases down to the last one that would undoubtedly contain one penny.) As I recollect, my trunks both contained enormous marble pillars which can be placed in your home, but nothing can be placed on top of them. rolleyes
I'm glad that the ink can be used for tattoos now. That was a good idea. The problem for us is that we have "bear" skin but not much "bare" skin. The question of used underwear has me speechless. xp

Doctor_Whatsit, another of our family here on Gaia, received a Pink Box last week. Mistrusting his luck, he sold it for a pretty sum--49,900g. before the tax.

Holy moly! eek Good choice, Dr. Whatsit!
Recently, one of Miradora's friends (we can't remember which without checking inventories) got an enchanted trunk. It contained a "mean green mother from outer space"* potted plant. Dr. Whatsit might like it!
*What WAS the name of that plant in Little Shop of Horrors??

Audrey, I believe? Whatsit has a burger restaurant in Towns--I am uncertain how wise a man-eating plant would be in such a locality.

My person and her alter-egos have collected 3 brown gift boxes floating by. Alas, I was not one of the lucky ones. Oh, well.

Floradora, one of my friends, just succumbed to the OMFG gift box. She got a "glowing pulsating" blue chest/trunk. I forget the exact description. She hasn't opened the chest. Do any of you have any suggestions for us? We're wondering if all the OMFG boxes contain chests. I guess we'll have to watch the Marketplace to see what is happening.
Pardon me if this seems disjointed, but I have a high school student (former first grader of mine) on the phone, too.

That is the Ancient Chest that was in the OMG Box before. It dispenses some unique items as well as many expensive store items, but you can probably buy most of the reasonably in the MP while this is going on. Here you may find the unique items found only in the Ancient Chest. http://www.tektek.org/gaia/item_search.php?s=loc:Ancient Chest
The market value of the chest itself is of course dropping, but you might hold it if you choose not to open it, and sell it this fall, or when the item is gone again and prices return to normal. http://www.tektek.org/gaia/price/?p=4031
In the GCD there are threads in which people are listing what is in the OMFG Box. It actually is nothing like so excellent as the OMG Box, and costs twice the price. neutral Eirwyn only bought one, receiving a Skeleton skin, and prefers to watch the MP for dropping prices on what she wants. She eyes the Tetsu Helm keenly. smile
