I didn't know there were books. I'm going to have to look into that.

But I remember sitting in the theatre with my boyfriend when we went to see At World's End, and I heard the announcer say, "Three years ago we took you on a journey to Middle Earth..." [or something to that effect]. I sat erect in my seat thinking they would say that we're going back for The Hobbit [I would just die of happiness], but saw the preview for this movie; however, I was not disappointed. I'm really looking forward to this film.

It looks like another visual masterpiece, and from what I saw in the previews, there's a lot of big names in it.

I read all the books and loved them so much. The last movie that i saw that was made from a book series I read and loved was Eragon.. and to be honest I was kinda disappointed with the movie.. I hope the Golden Compass doesn't turn out the same way... They can really do a lot with this book trilogy and i hope they work with it to it's full potential.

I haven't read the books and haven't heard or known of 'Golden Compass' till I saw the trailer. But it looked really interesting and as I'm a big fan of fantasy in general, I think I will watch it. If only because the polar bear has Ian McKellen's voice. twisted

Oh and the casting is really amazing.

It's good movie. But I heard some people hated it. They say the movie kinda didn't respect God or something like that....
