For the time being this will be in place of a subforum for fashion. You can make your own topics in the forum of course but this just organizes it a little bit. When the subforum is made this will be either moved to the subforum or deleted.
I did this so you'd have something to talk about so you won't feel lost.
Don't forget you can still make your own topics. This is just to organize it a bit for you. mrgreen

YEah I still wear a lot of clothes similar to the 60's fashion, ripped jeans (not the long baggy ones, but the tighter ones), leather/rawhide accessories, long hair, tattered sneakers or sandals, etc.

I love John's jacket and George's shirt in this picture. I found a site that has a few pictures, but the two at the top are awesome! One of them is the picture with the earrings and dress, but the other is Diana Rigg in a neato catsuit!

OH YES. I consider myself a bit of a sixties fashion efficinato...yeah. I'm super-fashionable. biggrin If you don't believe me, check out these pants I made (they're actually more early seventies, but close enough): That was on the way to see Ringo Starr last year. biggrin And here's one of my favorite vintage tops, though I rarely wear it (and always with my white gogo boots): And this one's self-explanitory: I'm also partial towards fringe on jackets, white lipstick, lots of beads, paisley, miniskirts, hemp, nehru jackets, those crazy Janis Joplin glasses, hair flips, Beatle hair (of course), ect.... Oh, yeah, and I just bought two vintage sixties bathing suits. WOO WOO!

HistoryWak You look awesome in those! I need to fashion myself 60s like. Any suggestions? xD x3 Thanks! Well, since you're a guy (I think....O_O) you've got more options. Probably the most important thing is to grow your hair...and not in those emo cuts or whatever. Long and plain, Beatle cut, curly-afro Dylan sort of thing, or with bangs is about the most sixties hair a guy can go for...or you can do neo-hippie, with dreadlocks (always hot). And tight pants. Not emo - just hot. Boots are nice, leather is always good (unless you're veg), natural fibers like linen and hemp are great, psychedellic fabrics KICK a**, even a little jewelry can look nice, bellbottom jeans = godliness, homemade clothing = jeebusness, beads rock, turtlenecks, and anything that looks remotely Beatlish is good in my book. Oh, and hats are cool. Particularly if they're Lennon caps. That may not be exactly accurate, but it's definately cool in my book! EDIT: Oh, and sunglasses = pretty much 1966. Those were very popular...they're pretty groovy. x3 You see George Harrison wearing them all the time. Colored sunglasses were also very cool. And if you can pull of Lennon glasses, DO SO! Basically, take you cues from George Harrison. ninja

Here's some pics of sixties fashion: ^Mary Quant, inventor of the miniskirt and popular sixties designer. ^Pattie Boyd, sixties supermodel and first wife of George Harrison. ^Dress designed by Twiggy. It's not in color, but the stripes are navy, yellow, and beige....1967. ^The Andy Warhol Campbell Soup dress! Warning: Never wear this. You'll just be laughed at. ^The classic Twiggy dress. ^another Mary Quant dress. ^I would LOVE to have a dress like this, and dye my hair a dark vibrant red. <3 GIMME GIMME GIMME! I'll probably add more when I find them. And if you're not really into short skirts/dresses, there's always the long hippie skirts and jeans. <3 Or you could go Indian.... but floor-length gowns were popular too. Stripes are always good, particularly if they're wide and/or horizontal. Tip: Don't be afraid to look ridiculous! As for hair, I've never been able to master mod hair. >_> If you want 'mod' hair, I suggest just getting it long with bangs...that's what I did. That way, you can pull of hippie AND mod! Or you can go Janis Joplin and put feathers in beads in a wild mane. Then you're definately hippie. Beatle 'arthurs' were popular even among girls. Mary Quant had a similar style. Short hair was in, as was long hair, lol. Twiggy had really nice short hair. Make-up is another story. Personally, I rarely use it, but I'm partial towards eyeliner and red lipstick...anyway. In the sixties, fashionable lips were pale. Very pale. If you can get hold of white lipstick, give it to me if you can't pull it off. I've been looking for it for over a year. And eyes...dark. Lots of mascara, dark eyeshadow, very carefully applied eyeliner. Ect. It was all in the eyes. Hope I helped! http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=86121247 ^A friend created a myspace for Pattie Boyd, with fashion tips and s**t. http://www.fiftiesweb.com/fashion/mod-fashion.htm ^Link to a very good sixties fashion site!

i have a lot of jakie kennedy-ish '60s clothes as well as lots of paisley, hand embroidered, a collection of psychedelic rings, a wood bead necklace that i wear o death, several flowy/flowery tops, a psychedelic paisley swim suit, extremely trippy/acidy shoes, and other hippie stuff. oh, and a lolly pop that says flower power on it. i've had it for a while, but keep forgetting to eat it... i hardly ever wear shoes unless i have to. my hair is a '60s flip. i used to have a pair of janis joplin glasses, but i don't know what happened to them.... sad these are some pics i happened to have from another time. i have other '60s clothes, but they're all in the hamper to be washed. sorry if the pics are too big. if they are tell me and i can re-size them. my computer is retarded and shows all images smaller than they actually are for other people. a jewelry box, but whatever okay, now compare my shirt and john lennon's....... (by the way, mine does have ruffles going down teh front, but you can't really tell in this pic...) PS hannah, i love the pic of you in san francisco. XD

(Though I grew my hair long last summer/fall and it looked like crap. sweatdrop I was going for Beatlish look with it too. All the rest I'll do. I've been looking for those sunglasses for a while. xD

PS hannah, i love the pic of you in san francisco. XD x3 Thanks. Dude, I LOVE that bathing suit! That's bitchin'. I tend to avoid two-pieces nowadays, but I'd definately wear that. x3 And that salmon-orange shirt? Also bitchin'. And of course the embroidery is great.... Oh, and military jackets. I love them. You should too. You see John Lennon in an army one during the early seventies (hehe I actually got to fondle that jacket...!!) Anyhoo, I've got a dark green Marines jacket that I've covered with political buttons....I still need to get the proper military badge sort of things. Grace Slick, singer in Jefferson Airplane, in a Marines jacket (I think). ^John Lennon in his famous jacket. <3 I HAD MY HAND IN THAT POCKET, OMG. But yeah...pay no attention to what Yoko's wearing; that was a fad that thankfully died out pretty quick. >.< Usually she's got a really good taste in clothing. ^IT'S THE PREGNANT MAN AGAIN!!! OMG. Well. It's a vintage poster, apparently. *wants one* As for Beatles, George was the most fashionable, but John had the coolest clothes. Although Ringo definately scored a bunch of points with that frilly yellow pirate shirt!! That's what first attracted me to him when I saw his picture in the White Album. x3 And Paul....well, nevermind. Just call the fashion police.
