hello, everyone!
welcome to idiotproof. our mission statement is, of course, at the front door of the guild when you come in, but here it is again for good measure:
This is the guild for those of us who are accused of being elite, when in reality we're just tired of things like bandwagons and trends. And really.. so what if we *are* elite? Truly, we're beyond things like bandwagons, and trends. We are the infidels of the 21+ Alternative A Modern Castle Hang Out thread. We are writers and artists, mothers and lovers of nature; we are soldiers and those who love and support them. We are tolerant and accepting, but remember... we are idiotproof. That said? Tread at your own expense.
please introduce yourself here, with however much or little detail as you wish. but to note, this is to help us all get a little closer, outside of our 21+ alternative thread. so share what you will -- this guild is made private for a reason, and it is trusted and hoped that things spoken of here, will stay here.

alrighty, ya'all.
my name's heathyr. i have a mini bio in my gaia profile but for a summary here:
i am 29. i have a 12 year old daughter who is amazing. i'm a phlebotomist and medic at a small, rural hospital 30 miles north of my city. i'm going back to school to get my A.A. and then B.A. in clinical science. i love my job.
the things i enjoy are: music music music. i can't get enough, and i listen to all kinds save for country. i also crochet in the fall/winter months to keep my hands busy; to keep from binge eating! i write, too: essays and haiku, short stories/flash fiction.
my favorite movies are: shawshank redemption, black hawk down, big fish, ice princess (SHUSH!) and many others.
my favorite books/authors: she's come undone and i know this much is true, both by wally lamb. the drowning people and us, both by richard mason. also, boy's life by richard mccammon was damn good.
right now i am reading kurt vonnegut and i know i won't be disappointed.
i play the violin; i've played for about 16 years. smile
well, i am doped up on pain meds so that's all i can think of for right now, other than i am a pisces, i'm moody, and i react to things quickly; speak first, think later.. which has gotten me into trouble on OTHER threads. well, just one. *sniggle*
though i still swear, even after time has passed and i'm calm, that i was in the right.

ok, what can i say about myself?
My name is Lamar, I'm 24 and currently in college and taking an internship. I'm into video games, computers, board games, sports, reading, and anlmost anything to keep me from being bored.

My name is Nimitz, currently at the age of 23.
Part time student and full time Navy personel.
Well, I like to read books especially literature and sometimes fiction.
I like sports, movies, anime, cars and more cars.
Thats about it xp

Hi, I'm purplewiz. I've been in high tech in various capacities since I graduated from college - I'm currently a freelance technical/business writer, otherwise known as mostly unemployed for the time being. I've been married 12 years to the same person.
I sew, mostly for resin Asian Ball Jointed Dolls, but occasionally for humans, too. I also crochet, again, mostly for the dolls. I love doing miniature work. I'm crazy that way.
I also grow African violets and garden outside, both flowers and vegetables.
I collect stuff. I have the collecting gene bad. I have the previously mentioned dolls, along with several hundred Barbies, well over 1000 action figures, lots of original anime cels, and more Beanie Babies than I care to count.
I'm a reasonably accomplished home cook. I'll probably end up posting recipes some time or another since I love to share good food. And a lot of it is even easy and healthy!
My favorite author is Suzanne Brockmann. I tend to read science fiction, romance, and cooking magazines when I have time to read. My taste in music is eclectic.
I've been on the internet since 1985, and I see no reason to stop now.

purple, i first got on the internet in 1994. on a 2400 baud modem, on local BBS's, and then IRC via a freenet.org network. ah, those were the days. smile

I love to draw and paint, read, write, watch movies. I like big trucks and fast cars, hunting, fishing and camping, good jokes, family, and food smile
I like most any kind of books, I don't read the Harlequin type romance books though. They bore me quite honestly. I really like Michael Crichtons books, and the rest are too numerous to mention...
I'm 25 years old, married, and a momma to an 18 month old little girl and a 3 year old little boy.
I should put an odd trivia fact about myself here...

I'm a member of this guild... I guess I should say a little something about myself (especially for those of you that haven't met me previously) On Gaia I'm known as bigboypinoy (aka >> bigboy, pinoy, or BBP), in real life most people call me ALLAN. My birthday is December 17, 1977... you can do the math to figure out how old I am. I'm the father to a beautiful baby girl, and husband to a gorgeous wife... both of which are in the Philippines (I'm in the USA, working to support them). I enjoy drawing, painting, sculpting, and writing poetry when inspiration is upon me. I was taught several different martial arts through my life, so the martial arts quite interesting, but I find many other sports entertaining as well. I like custom cars and just cars in general. I like to eat and cook -- Italian and Japanese foods are my favorites. I get a kick out of learning new things, and find that I'm a quite versatile person. I have many other interests in addition to these... so feel free to talk to me about most anything. I was born and raised Virginia, but I spent about 8 years of my life in the Philippines where I went to college, met and married my wife. Currently, I am working as a veterinary assistant, but would like to eventually have a career in information technology and use the B.S. in computer science I obtained in college. When I'm not working, my free time is often spent on-line or in church ( Beauty for Ashes Ministries). I found Gaia in February 22nd of 2006, and have been hooked ever since... xd

umm...hi. Looks like I should introduce myself, so here goes nothin':
I'm Aaron, I'm 15 today, I'm pretty sure, and my birthday was February 14, I have three younger brothers, no sisters, I like music, anime, cars. I was born in Germany, but raised here in the U.S, my whole mom's side is Phillipino, and I've been there to the Phillipines more then once, and my dad's side is still something worth figuring out to me. ^_^ I'm going to be a Sophmroe this coming school year, and I'm looking at possible advanced classes and...
that's all I can think of right now. ^_^
