for now, the rules are simple...
no god-moding. this means that yes, there might one day, or one time, or another day or time, be a character who is stronger, faster, smarter, or more magical than your own. on the flipside, you might also be the more dominant one.
please play fairly, in that regard.
please try to keep SL's within the gaia PG-13 limitations. if you have a storyline that is getting a little hot, or a little too violent for said limitations, you can take it into IMs (MSN, AIM, yahoo) with the person you are playing with, or email, or PMs (though PMs are still on gaia...)
you can have a single thread for your character if you'd like, that is JUST for you to write in, as well as RP threads. an example is: on AOL i used to game on a forum that you had active RP in chatrooms, and then the board you simply summarised your character's days, events, etc. if you decide to do that, then you MUST specify in the topic of your thread, what it is. IE;
grace note : fancy SL name : read only
or grace note : fancy SL name : active RP
you don't need to create single threads per character if you don't want. you can start a mass SL that can include anyone and everyone. or if you want to have a storyline with just a few characters, then say so.
basically... you can do whatever you want (the above things are merely examples of options!) so long as you make it clear what it is you want, dont want, or are looking for.
also understand that, since the majority of us are from a/the 21+ thread, we do have lives to attend to, and jobs to work at, and sometimes the RP SL's will fall silent, or die away. do not get upset about that! simply pick up where you left off.
