I've done everything in the poll except LARPing.
Of the above, the one I don't do currently is literate RP. I'm not fond of the RPing that happens here on Gaia, where there's a thread and people post their reactions to each other. I prefer RP which is immediate -- meaning, you live the character and must determine how you react and do so while the feeling grips you. Writing a post, with all the editing that happens while you type and think, lacks that.
The literate RP I used to do was MUSHing. You can still do this now, but it was much more prevalent 10 years ago. It's like MUDing (all text based, you connect into a server with other people), except there's no combat. My MUSHing was in the Pern worlds, and during roleplay, if you stopped to go over your actions or reactions too much, the moment would pass you by. It was much more RP like I like it.
I currently play video game and MMO games, but I find they are less RP and more combat/tactical. And games like Final Fantasy VII are more interactive movies than RP (you make no decisions -- you simply guide Cloud from the beginning to the end). (Not saying it wasn't a fantastic story or game, mind you. I still loved it.)
I much prefer tabletop games for RPing. I am currently running a D&D campaign, as well as playing in two others. D&D is really more of a combat system, but you can play it with more RP. If you're interested in seeing the development of a heavy-RP D&D game, you are welcome to read my campaign blog at
http://chorenn.wordpress.com. (Any and all comments and criticisms are welcome!) A lot of tabletop games are designed specifically for RP over combat.
I prefer tabletop RP because you have to actually *be* your character to make it work -- gesturing, speaking in the voice, as well as finding the words and expressions, all while playing someone other than yourself. It's all imagination, acting and reacting.
