Characters
Light And Darkness Light drives the darkness away as the darkness engulfs the light. Two forces that can never exist within each other always at the border of the other. They will forever be two opposing forces that will never quite be on the same side at the same time. This is the problem, to some, within this realm and possibly many more.
Amongst the many normal people there exists a world full of magic and wonder. Normal everyday people seemed to be blind towards the world of magic that seems to coexist with them everyday. It is natural for the two, from different worlds, interact with each other, most unaware of the transactions. Most magical creatures, those who live amongst humans, just wish to coexist with them in peace but there are many that don’t care to see such a thing happen and thus disturb the everyday lives of those within the human realm no matter what they are and why they are there.
Those higher up or the Elders, those who watch over the realm, have those with the specific purpose of stopping such things from going on. But where there is light there is always darkness and as there are those high up who stop those who would do vile act’s, there are those higher up who have those who would stop those from saving others and in turn doing worse.
The magical society, those that live amongst humans, sometimes needs protection as do humans. So with this in mind thus came the being called white lighters, those beings who protect those that are good, the one‘s they watch over are called their charges and few have more then one. But with the good comes the bad and the opposite to these white lighters are called dark lighters. White lighters can only be killed by Dark lighters as it is the same thing vice versa and one can imagine that the Dark Lighter’s purpose is just opposite of a white lighters. They can protect if the wish to but they’re main purpose is apparently is to case chaos and havoc which is what a white lighter is there to help keep from happening.
Nowadays it is often white lighter’s are seen with witches, the good users of magic that live amongst the humans. While Dark lighter’s are seen with Warlocks, the dark magic users. It’s quite often these groups go against one another for one reason or another. A constant battle of good and evil with several different creatures thrown into the mix. It ranges from demons of all levels to those typical light creatures that humans think to only see in legends or myths.
Neither side giving up, both seeking to be triumphant, one has to think the constant light vs. dark is quite old and really overrated. Now more then ever it seems the forces of good as the forces of darkness have come to the decision of going all out on each other. Let all bonds be broken let no one be spared, well that’s what the dark side would say. Now the light side wouldn’t put it like that exactly but the point is that, at the cost of the least sacrificed, the battle must be one but not just at any cost.
Friendships will be tested, it shouldn’t matter what you are but it does, betrayal seems inevitable. Lives will be lost, many may be devastated, though it doesn’t have to happen. There might be a way to avoid this horrible fate bound to take hold and set. Only time will tell and those willing to step up and either change things or have it keep going as is will decide the fate of many to come. This in the end will effect everyone no matter who, or what they are or where they live.
White Lighter
Whitelighters are "guardian angels" and are immortal when it comes to their lifespan. They watch over their charges and intervene when necessary to help them along their path and keep them safe; they can also be called by their charges. They can constantly hear the lives of their charges in their heads, and if one of them calls their Whitelighter's name, he/she can usually show up at a moment's notice. Whitelighters have the ability to orb, a kind of magical teleportation. This comes in handy for visiting their many charges around the world, and in special circumstances, as it is "against the rules" to do, orb others with them. They can also orb objects around. Orbing is not an exact science and can be disrupted by magic, sending someone to a place they did not intend to go. Whitelighters can use their ability to sense the people they are trying to find before going anywhere. Whitelighters, like demons, posses the power to throw energy balls. Whitelighters are the messengers between the Elders and witches.
Healing is another special ability granted to Whitelighters, and is used when their charges have been injured. As long as there is the faintest breath of life left in a person, they can be healed from any injury, whether the injury is magical in origin or not, though they cannot heal self-inflicted damage. A Whitelighter's healing ability is triggered by the emotion of love. Whitelighters are normally not allowed to have relationships with witches as it is deemed to be too complicated and dangerous by the Elders. There are several half-Whitelighters due to this rule being broken or lifted in special circumstances by the Elders.
Because they are pacifists, Whitelighters traditionally avoid fighting, except when desperately needed to protect their charges, but are absolutely not allowed to kill. Among the other powers of Whitelighters are levitation, invisibility, and "cloaking" their charges (making others unable to sense them). Whitelighters can also empathically feel what their charges feel (which, if not controlled, can actually hurt them), knowing if they are hurt or have been killed. White lighters can also summon/create orbs of light. They also have the ability to speak the language of their charges, whatever it may be.
Whitelighters have shown a wide range of powers, sometimes appearing when they are convenient and then never appearing again. When Leo explains his powers to Phoebe, he states that they can do whatever their charges need them to do. It is possible, for this reason, that they can only perform certain magic’s when it benefits their charges, but are otherwise powerless (with the exception of orbing, healing, and hovering).
Dark Lighter
Darklighters are immortal as the Whitelighters are. They can teleport from place to place by orbing, as Whitelighters can, but their orb effects are black in color. Their ability is called black orbing. They also come equipped with crossbows, which they can summon into their hands at any time. The Darklighter crossbow arrows are coated with a special type of poison that is especially lethal to Whitelighters. Some Darklighters also possess the touch of death, a power triggered by hate and focused through their hands - in contrast to a Whitelighter's ability to heal others.
Similar to Whitelighters, Darklighters also possess the ability to sense another magical being's presence through a magical form of telepathy. Hence they can locate a Whitelighter anywhere on the globe by merely concentrating. The Primary goal of all Darklighters is to kill Whitelighters in order to make witches more vulnerable to evil attack. In addition, Darklighters often work as hired guns or mercenaries to higher level Demons and Powers. They generally work with Warlocks or demons to accomplish their goals.
Besides the standard "assassin" type of Darklighter, who strive to kill current Whitelighters to leave their charges vulnerable or to kill future Whitelighters before they can earn their wings, there are three other known types of Darklighters:
One type of Darklighter spreads evil through procreation, by seducing innocent mortal women and tricking them into bearing their progeny. It's against the rules to tell these women about who they truly are, so it is presumed that the women are abandoned once a child is produced.
Another type of Darklighter is one known as the 'Spirit Killer', a special type of Darklighters that drives future Whitelighters to suicide, automatically disqualifying the person from becoming a Whitelighter. They curse these Whitelighters-to-be with bad luck, following the victim around, invisible to everyone, including the victim. As the bad luck escalates and drives all thoughts of happiness from the victim's mind, the Darklighter is there every step of the way, whispering hopeless thoughts into the victim's ears. Once the victim is thoroughly depressed beyond recovery, the Darklighter changes his whispered words to encourage them to commit suicide.
A third type of Darklighter is called a Tracker. A Tracker is a Darklighter that goes after Whitelighters who are about to lose their wings. Their orbing is more of a spiral than the particle of other Darklighters, and they are considered to be much more powerful than a regular Darklighter. They are rogue Darklighters who often only answer to themselves. They usually distinguish themselves from other types of Darklighters by wearing tribal tattoos on their face or some other symbol that sticks out elsewhere.
Witches and Warlocks
All witches must follow the important rule from the Wiccan Rede: An harm it none, do as ye will. When a witch crosses the line, and uses his or her magic to harm others, he or she will cross over to the dark side and become a warlock.
Like a human, a warlock is born and grows, naturally coming from either warlock parents or from a witch heritage and betraying their oath. Considered one of the lowest forms of evil and looked down upon by higher demonic beings, warlocks are the dark equivalent of witches.
Half-warlocks with mortal parents are not inherently evil, though they can be swayed to the dark side. There is a way to cleanse themselves of their warlock nature, but it requires an "ultimate commitment to good", such as entering the priesthood. A half-warlock has normal human frailties, but possesses warlock powers.
Warlocks look and act human but have one very specific and dangerous goal: to kill good witches and steal their powers. At the point of death a warlock captures the magic flowing from a Witch’s body, obtaining their abilities. Their primary targets are witches but they are also capable of stealing the abilities of other supernatural beings they vanquish, though they risk incurring demonic wrath by killing those that serve evil.
Like witches, warlocks possess a wide variety of individual powers as well as the ability to perform magical feats, such as spell casting. Some warlocks also possess abilities such as shape shifting, telekinesis, pyrokinesis, freezing time, memory absorption and astral projection. The main ability all warlocks possess though is the power to absorb witch powers from witches they have killed.
Some Witches and Warlocks contain books full of spells created and used throughout generations within their family. Such items are kept in a safe place but where it can easily be found in case there is a need to use it. Those with such a book have an advantage over those who don’t have access to one.

Personality: Mao isn’t the talkative type but he knows how to speak up when he has to. He’s really the shy type but he doesn’t like to seem so. He’s the kind of person that tend to keep to himself but if he has to then he can do otherwise. Mao doesn’t like to see other’s down and he try’s to do something about that if there’s something he can do. Though he himself seems to be quite the downer, not on purpose though, he just seems to think negatively more often then not. Mao isn’t the type to take anything for granted and he’s one that appreciates just about anything and everything so he‘s quite thankful. He can be quite a klutz sometimes and is very apologetic. He apologizes for just about every mistake he makes and apologizes for just about everything he thinks is his fault. He doesn’t really speak up and voice his opinion’s, they are just his personal thoughts, so he often keeps things to himself but not important things he thinks other’s should know. He hates to disappoint others so he seems to care more about other’s then he does himself. Mao isn’t someone that can hold a grudge, at least not for long, so he seems to be a very forgiving person most of the time.
Bio: Mao comes from a long line of White Lighters. He had quite a few siblings, he was the youngest, and it’s for this reason he didn’t have as much pressure put on him though he was always encouraged to do his best. He wasn’t really looking forward to having to go off and get a charge as all the other White Lighter’s did at some point in time. That would mean he would always be with this certain person and have to constantly watch over them. He was well aware of what he would have to do and his parents seemed to be very dedicated towards the idea. So he was expected to do as all his elder sibling did. He didn’t see how he would handle such an important job. He tended to make mistakes, even though he never meant to, so he considered himself something of a klutz and he wasn’t exactly the bravest person in his family. He feared having a run in with one of those beings that had a thing for White Lighters and he certainly did not want to get killed though it was an honor to be a White Lighter and to get to have a charge and then it was the ultimate honor to die in the act of protecting your charge. Mao had a pretty simple life, though he had to practice his powers, he had a few pressures but he was grateful to have the family he had and the friends. The day Mao was told he was to go in the human realm and take up a charge, he wasn’t sure if he should be happy about that or the opposite, he isn’t a very expressive person so he just thought to show his parent’s he was happy to do so, not wanting to disappoint them. He went off to the human realm with the intention of making his parents proud and if he didn’t do that then he was bound to disappoint them which was the very last thing he wanted to do.

Other: Mao likes literature so he obviously likes to read when he gets a chance to. He’s also very fond of sweets and animals though not the really violent one’s he prefers the small and furry ones. He wears a chain with a ring on it given to him by someone who used to be close to him.

Akuma dashed through the forest, a traveler by his lonsome. Heh. Fun. He darted out from the tree and grabed him. The man, of course, startled screamed. Akuma smirked devilishly,
"Shut your mouth." He said, stabing him slowly, and (just cause I haven't asked you about the whole bloodly thing how far I can go with the vilolence ) after a terrible tourture section the corpse feel to the ground. He jumped down and licked his claws, " Feh--" He walked off into the shade of some trees and began to clean himself. When this was finished he started walking alone again. He heard a far off scream. The body must have been found. That gave him a smirk.

[[You can be vaguely descriptive, just don't go overboard when it comes to explaining violent situations.]] Mao found himself standing somewhere in the middle of a town. A placed filled with humans. A place he didn't necessarily belong. He had a charge. Well, he thought he had one. Unless he was mistaken. Which seemed to be the case at times. He wasn't exactly one to be helped out by the other white lighters. No, some he knew like to play tricks. He felt rather ridiculous now that he stood, amongst the humans on a side walk, having no idea where he was exactly. He supposed he could always orb back home, right? H considered doing that right then and there but why did he have to go. He was in no rush to return to nothing. Well, he had those that wouldn't mind seeing him, but he didn't care to return just like that. He really wanted to be assigned to a charge. To prove that he was just as good as everyone else. Not to say he wanted attention. He just wanted to do something good. So he decided he would stay here amongst the human. Maybe he would get lucky and come across his charge, if he had one.
It was with the thought of finding a charge did Mao set off to start walking amongst the humans. He didn't have any particular direction to go in mind. He was just going somewhere and he thought that, eventually, he would make it to some place he needed to be. He didn't consider he left himself quite open to anyone that cared to notice him.

As he was walking he noticed people in groups walking by, he hid his wings by shifting them just right to make the image of the wings being part of his shirt which over the years he found quite useful. He ruffled his hair up. His small horns were rather easy to hide. He figured out WHY there were groups of people around. There now infront of him was a town, he sighed. He hated being around people and knowing he wasn;t allowed to slay anyone. For it was not even a thought to cross his mind to kill anyone in a setting as this. What if the children saw? Then..Well- that didn't matter right at the momment because his growling stomach was more then enough to make him forget how much he wished he could spead his wings. But that would scare mostly everyone here and of course he couldn't have that now could he? He'd have to kill. Kill...Yes.. He blinked, snapping himself out of it. Akuma, calm down you know better then this. He walked around the town and shifted his eyes a few times soon finding what he was looking for. A place to eat, thank Lucifur. He walked in, great, it was fairly crouded. He'd eat quick the get the heck out of this town.

[[My apologies for taking so long to post.]] Mao definitely felt at a loss here. There were just so many humans about. He wished he could stop somewhere to get some assistance. At some point he did find himself stopping at a cross walk with a faint frown set upon his features. So many other people about, but none could help him. None were allowed to know what he was. Should he go back home, or should he keep going. The latter seemed like the only choice he had. With that in mind he was quick to cross the street when he saw it was allowed. Perhaps he should try and converse with. But where should he go. He was considering it when he found himself stopping by what he supposed was some kind of store. No. It wasn't a store. He saw humans in it, and they seemed to eating. He wondered if he could talk to the humans here. He didn't know about interrupting though. He thought it over for a minute before deciding against it. He needed to find his charge, not stick around here, getting nothing done. With that thought he moved to walk off in a hurry.
