Einstien theorized there was life after death because of the inverse relationship matter has with energy. Any thoughts?

Hmm! An interesting and excellent question, I think.
I personally believe in New Thought reincarnation, which in simple terms is reincarnation like the Buddhists believe in without the fuss of karma and being good in this life to "get into the nice bars in the next". So, really all it means is that we keep coming back in a new body, each time we die. How much physical knowledge we gain isn't important--we may choose to collect a wealth or none at all. What matters is how much spiritual knowledge we gain. We take that with us to our next life each time we die and, according to the faith in Christianity, once you know it all you go to heaven. smile
Unfortunately, I can't say I believe in this for a scientific reason. I just like the idea that... By the time life's over with, you'll probably be happy about it. razz

I believe in the Summerland, which is kind of a pit-stop between lives, when you can visit those who've died in your lifetime. You can visit family, friends, etc., and just hang out until you feel you're ready to start your new life, and with it, a new lesson.
So, reincarnation, yes.

I don't believe in anything after death. I would like to, but I can't seem to. When you die, you just die.

Here's how I'll put it, someone I know suggested this and I find it an extremely sound argument: It is better to go through life believing there is life after death and find out there isn't, than it is to go through life believing there isn't only to find out that there is.

Xindaris Here's how I'll put it, someone I know suggested this and I find it an extremely sound argument: It is better to go through life believing there is life after death and find out there isn't, than it is to go through life believing there isn't only to find out that there is.If you believe, but there is no life.... Then you won't be there to experience that. 'Cause you won't exist anymore.... But if you don't believe, but there is life... Then you can just accept your mistake. Or be disappointed. I see. Part of me believes, part of me doesn't. It's like "If there is, cool." "If there isn't, too bad." If there is, then what would we have to achieve? Ryuk from the Death Note manga said this at the end of chap 107: "Humans will surely die someday. But after death, there destination is nothingness." So, we might have nothing to achieve, and might live a pointless dead life. Okei. ^^

I believe there is a place every spirit or soul goes to after it has left a recent body. In this place they are allowed to rest before chosing out the path for their next life whether it be of a plant, animal, star, or other. In this place the spirit or soul regains the complete memories of each past life and that spirit or soul has the wisdom and knowledge of the univers.
In this place between life and death the spirit or soul knows there must be a constant balance in the universe and thus decides in each life whether to be smart, retarded, good, evil, or other.
These spirits or souls go through as many lives as they want before finally taking an eternal rest in the central power (known as god, the center of the universe, you name it) and then are reborn as a new spirit with a fresh mind and the want to learn new things.
Like the balance in all, there is an opposite place to the resting place of souls. It is called the nothingness. For any spirit or soul that is foolish enough to break away from the balance and to try and disrupt what should happen, the fall into the nothingness. Withing the nothingness there is completely nothing. No light, no dark, no sound, no muteness, no feeling, no numbness. The only thing that is there is the conciousness of it. You know you are there, but that is all. You know not who and what you are, or where you are. You only know that you are there.
The resting place and the nothingness have been at odds with each other since the beginning. The resting place also known as limbo, heaven, hell, is constantly watching the nothingness, waiting and planning on how to keep the balance in place. For when something goes into the nothingness, nothing ever comes out.
Once the nothingness was but a smudge on the edge of reality. It was ignored and the spirits went around doing as they pleased. Because of this strange evil creatures came into existance that were not under the control of the resting place. They would tip the balance whenever possible and would destroy the paths the spirits had all planned out for themselves. When the evil was finally placed back under control, calm and peace reigned over the resting place as well as the place between it and the living. Uncounted years later the nothingness finally moved. It shifted and changed from a smudge on reality to a sphere enveloping everything around it, much like a black hole but worse. The attention of the Higher spirits (spirits that had lived through countless lives and were getting ready for eternal rest and rebirth) were caught and debates reigned. It was decided after that point that the high spirits that had not moved on yet would become it's watchers and the guardians of the resting place (think of the gods and goddess, saints and prophets, angels and even devils) They would help keep the balance, just in case the nothingness was a new threat.
The nothingness hasn't changed it's current position yet, but more and more people are becoming aware of it as it's presence becomes increasingly felt both in the Living world, and the spirit realm.

I do believe that there is a life after death. It's interesting to see that Einstien believed in life after death too. If certain religions (Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, etc.) are true then there has to be life after death, but nothing can be proven. For those who believe: then just have faith and do whatever your God (if any) wants and for those who don't: please make good use of your life since you have one lifetime (since that's what you belive in, right?)

I have a major issue with the concept of belief. If its intangible, I do not believe or disbelieve it. Thus, I live off of theories.
But, theoretically speaking....
Can consciousness really be considered energy? What's the difference between life and consciousness? Does a comatose person have a soul? Or has their soul passed on already? Does the fact that they are kept alive via machines count as being alive?
With those questions kept in mind, I'd think that there is no life after death.

I believe in recarnation.
You people who do to and want to see a person you once were.
Here's how:
Calm yourself completely out. Light a candle. Go in front of a mirror. Turn the light off. Stare at your eyes. You'll see people around you.
I did this excersize and saw and asian lady. Middle aged. Black shoulder length hair. It was so cool!
If you get freaked out easily I would tell you not to. It's damn freaky.

I think so. It's entirely possible. I also believe in reincarnation too. I believe we're reincarnated over and over until we're pure enough to go to the afterlife. I just think...too many weird things happen in this world, with people talking about encountering spirits, and other things of the sort, for there not to be.

Well.
When I think of what happens after death, I get scared that it'll be nothing. I'm scared that there's nothing after death, I'm scared of nothingness. I like to believe that I'll be reincarnated into something better. Not necessarily a human. I like to fantasize about being reborn as a bird. Anyways, I believe in so many things... I believe that there's a heaven and a hell. I believe in reincarnation. I believe in Nirvana. It's all so appealing, how can I not?

I believe there is life after death. Mostly because the thought of dying and that just being....the end....scares the crap out of me. I really believe that our souls exsist in some way after we pass on. Even if it's nothing really obvious like Heaven and Hell. Maybe reincarnation, maybe we will just be thoughts that float through the universe, who knows?
