I'm really shocked we don't have one of these. Basically, it's for posting any albums, songs, or styles you're into lately, and maybe a mini-review or short explaination?
As of this moment, I'm really into the new self titled Liars album. The first half is absolutely fantastic -- I'm not so sure about the second half yet, probably because I keep listening to "Plaster Casts of Everything", "Houseclouds", and "Sailing to Byzantum" on repeat. It's a lot more melodic then Drum is Dead, which is one of my favorite 06 albums, but still has a lot of minor key stuff and general creepiness even with some riffs. It's really hard to give a RIYL, because these guys are kind of out there, but not so out there that they've reached Bordeoms territory. I think if you liked TVotR's last album or maybe even Radiohead's Kid A you might want to check this out. It can be found in the usual places
I've also been on a MBV and shoegaze-influenced stuff (Like Ulrich Schnauss and A Sunny Day In Glasgow) kick lately.

I cant stop listening to the Kooks album "Inside In/ Inside Out" Its like the British invasion all over again. Every single song is amazing. I guess theyre a big deal in England, but theyre playing crappy clubs in America.

Paul McCartney's "Memory Almost Full"
iPod's newest victim, and best commercial yet. It tells me: The album starting off with "Dance Tonight". Melodic, simple. Pop. I like it. Moving on, it get's a little more movement, I like it, tapping to it now. Go for a stroll and pop this on, quite nice. Not music revolution but pop music, lovely. Making music is nice, because it's pop. It's good.

For about...6th months now, I've been rather obsessed w/ Patrick Wolf, and I use the word obsessed lightly. While I'm in love w/ his previous two albums, The Magic Position is just like a breath of fresh air to me. Not only does it have charming and very sing-along-able pop gems like Accident & Emergency, Get Lost and the title track, The Magic Position, it has very lush and gorgeous songs such as Augustine, The Stars and Magpie (surprise, that song features Marianne Faithful!) There's something about Patrick that makes me go all warm and fuzzy inside. I could say there's something about him that I identify w/...but I'm not a 6'4'', lithe English boy who looks like he could have posed for Gainsbourg's The Blue Boy...but we DID both have the same orange hair color. 3nodding
Also, as of this month, I've been on this HUGE, HUGE Pulp kick. I caught the video for Jarvis' song Don't Let Him Waste Your Time on my on-demand service last month or so and have been rather smitten w/ the man and his musics. heart I've always dug Pulp and/or Jarvis...just...never in this fangirly fashion. stare

I bought the White Stripes' new album yesterday, Icky Thump. With my favorite album of theirs being White Blood Cells, I'd say I like the new one. My favorite song off it being Rag & Bone.

Lycanthropy is a modern work of genius. But all people want to talk about is his sexuality. They think "******** the music, is he bi, gay, anything?" Im so sick of it. Why cant people just listen to the music?

Minus the Bear, Planet of Ice Get it! So moody all of a sudden. Dreamy. I like it.
The Good Life, Help Wanted Nights Get it! Emotional. But fun.
Justin Nozuka, Holly He isn't very creative, but I like two tracks, the singles. I can make mistakes, come on. But he is much better than his brother. Thank God for that.

Beirut, The Flying Club Cup Talk about rewarding listen. Beirut keeps the authenticity of his sound. He retains that beauty in his music; this album now seems as if a continuation of the previous LP. A transition from one story to another. "Guaymas Sonora" is just so amazing. You have to GET IT!
