The Suicide Machines were a Punk Rock/Ska Punk/Hardcore Rock band from Detroit, Michigan. During their time they released a total of 6 albums on Independent record labels Hollywood and SideOneDummy. They gained little mainstream success.
The band formed in 1991 under the name Jack Kevorkian and the Suicide Machines. During this time the band was unsigned and recorded their first two demos. By 1995, the band had shortened their name to just the Suicide Machines and had made a change in line-up, replacing their drummer and bassist.
In 1995, they signed to Hollywood Records and released their debut album: "Destruction By Definition". The band did receive some notoriety and their song "No Face" became a minor radio hit. 1998 saw the release of the album "Battle Hymns" and the addition of drummer Ryan Vandeberghe. In 2000, the band attended Warped Tour and released their self-titled album, but because it was a departure from their old sound and more of a pop-punk sound, it was not well received by fans. 2001 brought about their next album "Steal This Record".
In 2002 they hired bassist Rich Tschirhart, released their compliation album: "The Least Worst Of The Suicide Machines" and moved to SideOneDummy Records. In 2003, they released the album "A Match And Some Gasoline" which showed that they had moved into Ska and Hardcore punk and began to show political themes in their music. 2003 also saw them tour on the Warped Tour once more. 2005 saw the release of their last album: "War Profiteering Is Killing Us All", which openly attacked the Bush Administration.
In 2006, the band broke up and all members have begun their own projects.
