Well condensing molecularly structures and shrinking them are two completely different things. For instance when water is chilled the movements of atoms are slowed, as where the atoms that compose the human body are set in the manner in witch they create cells.
So to shrink someone you would need to recreate the human genetic structure in a smaller size, meaning removing atoms. The reason I say this is because atoms can not be smaller than they are. It's an absolute the atoms are the smallest form of energy.

you are correct in a sense about the atoms but... but, but but...

atoms are the smallest unit of matter that has discernable properties. protons, neutrons, electrons, positrons, neutrinos... and on and on are smaller than atoms. and then there is string theory which says that even smaller stuff makes up everything else. eek

anysways, I dont believe that shrinking or growing living things is really possible, but you could theoretically decrease the size of matter by decreasing the amount of empty space in an atom which is already HUGE (in an infinitesimal way). I dont know if that is possible either, but it is more possible than some things.

and as far as genetic engineering, that is more probable but it would not be the same. because cells cannot be increased or decreased in size by genetic engineering without destroying their functionality, you would have to decrease the number of cells. This doesnt work because human organs, especially the brain, require all of their mass to function. In other words, a small human would be a lot like a mouse. You would not be very smart in the scope of things, your heart would have to beat really fast, and other such things. Strange stuff.

But once again, I love giantess in my imagination. I dont need to be reciprocated by the world. As long as I have my gf and all of you guys. ^^

Keep in mind though that magic is a form of science in it's own right. Potions are a form of chemistry which can aid in transformations which are in respects; " a form of change in gentic structure level with the aid of the mystery of magical." Growth and Shrinking are a form of magical transformations just as one can be changed into another kind of being such as a cat, toad, bird, wolf or if you go to the magic hybrid level and beyond you can go to werewolf or dragon.

However, just like the great risks taken in modern man's "magic" of gentic engineering there can be great dangers in using potions to make one larger or smaller. If the potions are mixed incorrectly one could find themselves in trouble. For example; One makes a potion to make oneself the size of a mouse and takes it, not only do they shrink, but, turn into a mouse as well because they did something wrong when mixing the ingredients.
Now using magic spell casting can be used in growth and shrinking again, however, caution in using such spells correctly must be inforced at all times.
When using a spell in growth on someone before you make sure that prson is aware what your going to do because a sudden change to one's form can come as a great surprise!
Your girlfriend may not to happy with you if you make her big enough to where she hits her head on the ceiling, a tree branch or a light pole. It should also be noted that if your going to increase one's physical statue make sure you keep there clothies in mind as your casting the magic if not, she maybe happy to be a giant, but, she did not plan to do it in her "birthday suit" to the whole town or city.
Weight must be also included in the growth if not, it could be bad.
Take for this as an example; At normal size one weighed at 125 pounds. If they increaed in size to 100 feet tall, yet, their weight was still at 125 pounds...Man, you better hope that there won't be a strong wind coming around anytime soon or you'll be flying through the air and it won't be with the greatest of ease.
Ground density, many don't put this into mind when they use a growth spell.
If your lucky a little knowledge goes far and it can be ugly too.
Say you got a person who wants to crush you "like a bug" and he or she can be come a giant at will. If your inside a old building tell that person she or he better grow real big because it takes alot to "crush" you and if they do it and forget in the heat of passion in anger at you, they could get to too heavy for the old wooden floor below their feet and fall through the floor. Just pray they don't bring the whole building down on you in the proscess.
On the "ugly" part back at your girlfriend, if you make her a gaint with magic, make sure the ground will support her increasing weight, if not she could accidently fall on top of you if she looses her balance when and if the ground below her suddenly shifts!

Ugh, so tired, last night i had a weird experience of waking up bigger (get your head out of the gutter, i didn't mean down there scream ) I fell asleep and rolled onto my arm so all the blood and stuff got in but wouldn't get out. When I woke up, i couldnt turn on the light, but i think my hand and arm looked about 1.5X bigger than usual... if i could move my fingers it would've been a bit cool, instead i just kept shaking my hand until it got back to normal size. It was a weird night xd
