Since Wednesday/Tursday of last week:
My older sister was in an accident and now has four cracked ribs. The two in the back seem to be healing just fine, one in the front is healing slowly, and the other seems to be getting worse.
My cousin was in an accident and although she is doing pretty well, it totaled her car and the insurance is giving her fits over it. They are trying to claim that they should not have to pay for her car, despite the fact that she had full coverage adn the accident was her fault.
My niece in Indiana has been molested, and there is an ongoing investigation to find out more details. She said she is scared to tell any more details. There is a counselor trying to help get some details out of her, but my niece doesn't like the counselor, and is refusing to talk. sad
Granny (dad's mom) had a relapse... She had been doing really well on the medication they gave her, but now she is having a lot of problems... Seeing things that aren't there, not recognizing people she should know... Sometimes, she doesn't even know who she is, let alone anyone else. Sunday evening, she tried to attack the nurse who came in to give Granny her pills. sad
My aunt (on my mom's side of the family) collapsed at work and is in the hospital for heart and pulmonary issues. They said she had a heart attack and has walking pneumonia. The heat certainly didn't help, since she works in a factory and it is generally 25-30 degrees hotter in the factory than it is outside.
It is difficult trying to figure out how to be there for everyone when there is so much happening in so many different places.
As you can probably guess, this means I am not going to be on much for a while.

I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that we expect and don't mind your absence from the Mansion, you've definitely got your hands full there...
I'm quite sorry that you seem to be a magnet for bad times, I really hope things start looking up for you, bud.

Here is an update:
My older sister is doing as well as can be expected. With it being the ribs, they can't put on a cast, and with her allergies causing her to sneeze and cough, she is really having a tough time.
My cousin lied to all of us. Yes, she was in an accident, and yes, it was her fault. HOWEVER, that is about the extent of the truth. She was driving without a license, she didn't actually have insurance of any kind, and it wasn't even her vehicle. She has a LOT to answer for with the police, the insurance company, and the family.
My niece in Indiana revealed enough details to prove she wasn't making it up, as a few people tried to claim. The police are involved and it appears that there will be multiple charges filed against multiple people and organizations. Not sure how things will turn out, but at least my niece won't have to worry about the threats that were made against her and her family.
Granny... Well, most of the time, she has to be sedated to keep her from trying to attack people. She is convinced that her daughter (whom no one in the family has seen or heard from since 1981) is trying to kill her, and that she has hired the people at teh nursing home as assassins. sad
My aunt is out of the hospital but isn't allowed to return to work for a while yet, and has already filed to get paid while she is off work. She has a very positive outlook, and says that she is the only one to blame, because she knew that things weren't right, and she went ahead and went to work and all.
