So, we're all scared of something or other. If you say you aren't, you a liar. So, don't say it or you'll be branded for life. I'll even get the brand red-hot and ready. =D
But what are your fears? Are they rational, or irrational? Do they have a story behind them?
Here's mine, since I'm all into starting with myself (doesn't this sound like an AA meeting?) :
Heights I don't think there's anything I'm afraid of more. Heights terrify me. I can't go out onto the balcony of a two story building and look over the edge... I have to stay very near the side of the building. It's horrible. What made it worse was two summers ago, a then best friend of mine decided she would cure it... We went to Elitches up in Denver and she said she was going to take me on the Tower of Doom.
I was very opposed to this. Anything where you're locked into a booth that's supported by two cables, then lifted 150 ft in the air and dropped isn't my cup of tea. It was such a horrible experience... very vivid in my memory since I had to clench my toes to keep my shoes on my feet, hold my sunglasses on, and also hold the change in my pocket down. It started rising... And I remembered something about speed and momentum from science class.
Bugs Creepy crawling things... ugh. I'll scream, yell, jump, and act all girly if I see a bug. Especially if the bug is a spider or a cockroach. Yep... my twin brother has killed every spider in the house. Just the other day, I woke my mom up at 3 in the morning to flush a cockroach(and then we went and got stuff to kill cockroaches.. haven't seen any since). I'm deathyl afraid of them. I always think they're going to bite me, get inside of me, or attack me.
Being Bound or Tied Up I don't know why I have this fear. If I can't escape from something though, it's a relatively bad day. 'Don't know if this has to do with my strong dislike for emotions and wanting to escape when people start getting emotional or if it's just another one of my irrational fears.
I don't know... but one things for sure, I fainted once when I couldn't escape handcuffs. I still have a scar on my right wrist from them.
I think that's about it...

Mmm, I was about to start a thread like this not too long ago xd Fears, eh? I've got some, along with an interesting story or two to keep you people entertained Xp
Heights Yes, like Torey, I'm deathly afraid of heights (despite being tall... and all). I was never really bothered by heights when I was younger, but the fear started when I was about 12.
We were all going on a field trip to this forest reserve, it was pretty famous considering it had a very long and very high suspended bridge (so high in fact, you wondered what held it up since you were well above the 50ft trees). Me, being the excited 'go-get-em-girl' type, decided that a hanging bridge with shaky supports was nothing, and went along with my friends to go talk a walk along it. When we did, the guide was there mentioning to us the history about the bridge, how old it was and how high it was. In her exact words, "The bridge is so old, you shouldn't walk too fast or too slow, otherwise you might fall." A friend asked what happened if we did fall, she answered, "Well, 'cause the bridge is so high, a fall could easily kill you. Any more questions? No? Go on right ahead kids :'DDDDD"
I kept screaming all the way across when the winds kept swaying this rickety old bridge X_X;
Gore / Horror Movies Yes, I've played games like Half-Life, Dino Crisis, Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, Castlevania, etc. I also have a strange fascination with the supernatural. However, take me to some gore-fest movie and I'll be pleased to cover you in my puke. I can't even LOOK at an advertisement for said movies. I suppose it started when I was a kid, when I was at my cousin's house and I managed to find his stash of movies. I flipped through them, all horror movies with icky, gory people on them burning_eyes
Being late Yes, I have an irrational fear of being late. It's not so much that it consumes my life, but I do beat myself up if I'm not at a certain place on time. I don't mind being half-an-hour early, so as long as I manage to get there when people expect me to xp

I would by no means say that, like John Deacon (( xd )), I'm agoraphobic, but I do tend to fear social gatherings and feel particularly tense and/or irritated by large crowds. I also have an extreme fear of public speaking. sweatdrop

Wow, I have a looong list....
1. Spiders.
This started with my mom. She was terrified of spiders when I was an infant, and I grew afraid of them. I'm okay with the tiny ones that don't move fast, but anything that is big, odd-colored, fast moving, or looks realitively close to a spider freaks me out. Me and my mom also have developed a "Spidy-Sence," and are able to tell, just by stepping into a room or car, if there's a spider in there.
2. Any Bug that Flies Fast, Stings, Bites, etc.
I'm okay with flies. Those don't bug me at all. Same with ants, worms and lady bugs. Bees, Beatles, Ticks, Fleas, Lice, Mosquitoes, grubs, maggots, ear-wigs...amoung others freak me out though. I dunno why, they jsut do. I start twitching and try to run away from them, too.
3. Stuff Giving Out Underneith Me
-Sub-Section 1: Elevators.
As long as the elevator is big, with handles, is not crowded, and has an updated inspection-sticker, then I'm fine. Otherwise, I start hyperventilating. I had a panic attack once because I was uber relaxed in my Health class, and then (for part of the relaxation exercise) she meantioned elevators....and it totally freaked me out for some reason.
-Sub Section 2: Thin Floors.
Once I went to Stratford Apon Avon. And we went into Shakespeare's old house. The upper floor sagged and creaked whenever you walked on it, and I wanted nothing to do with it.
-Sub Section 3: Bridges.
Speaks for itself.
4. Falling
-Sub-Section 1: Elevators.
See elevators meantioned above. Both involve snapping cables.
-Sub Section 2: Bridges.
See above section, again snapping and falling to death.
-Sub Section 3: Stairs.
I get dizzy on stairs, so I have the constant feeling that I'm going to fall. Which also makes me very slow on the stairs.
5. Failing.
Yup. I'm a work-o-holic when it comes to school. I admit it, I hate it, but I feel the need to stay constantly at A-level or else the world will end.
6. Yelling.
Don't ask me why, I don't understand it myself. I just start getting really frightened when people yell...and then I start crying hysterically for no reason. I had no childhood tramua, but one of my moms think it's because of my other mom hiding me as a child whenever they fought.
7. Guns.
When you live next door to a city who's first murder of the year was 45 minutes after New Year's and is in the top 20 Most Violent Cities in the US, you kinda are frightened of guns.
8. Closed-in Spaces.
-Sub Section 1: Cramped places.
I like corners and all...but I feel, like if I'm in a small tunnle you have to crawl through, like I can't get out. Like, I'm going to get stuck. And it freaks me out.
-Sub Section 2: Crowded places.
...Just soo many people...in one place...if I'm with someone I know, and they're right by my side, I'm okay. Just..when I'm alone in a crowd... gonk
9. Being Left Alone.
I'm afraid of being completely alone. Yes, that contradicts the thing about crowded spaces above, but I feel so...vulnerable when I'm alone. I hate it. Emotionally alone, too.
And Finally, #10...
OTHER PEOPLE'S INTENTIONS!!!!
Yeah, I get a bit paranoid. When I friend doesn't talk to me for a little bit, I think they're mad at me. When my parents ask me about stuff, I'm afraid that they're lying to me and they know everything even if it's not true but they think it is, and being parents, they think they can't do any wrong.
-------------------------------
And there you have it. A dent in all the fears I home. I used to be afraid of a certain type of pokemon, Muk and Grimer, too, but I got over that like...five years ago.
Will add more as I think of them.

As long as it isn't alive and in the room with me, Soren. xd !
Ah. Elevators... Hate them. I went in an elevator once with a large group of friends/other people... and when it stopped at the floor, the car was at least a foot below the floor line. I've taken the stairs ever since.
Besides, when you're in a hurry, elevators are bound to stall.

And so you people know, that spider I posted is actually really small, like... 6 inches if you stretch its legs out to full length, so it's not that big. That's just a super close-up. razz
Anyway, man, Memai, that bridge thing is a lot like something I went through, only it didn't have wind or anything. It was one of those underground caverns that I forget the name of. My family went to one once and they had lots of bridges between certain parts, and they were very rickety and unstable looking... and below, there was nothing but pitch blackness, but you knew it was a loooooooooooooong way down. O_____O The place creeped me out to all heck and back.
Heights don't so much creep me out because I think I'm going to kill myself, but that somebody ELSE might die, and I'd have to watch them fall down and down and... o_____o
I can't really think of any other phobias, though.

And splat. >>;
Heh, bridges. There's this one in Colorado called the Royal Gorge... While it looks very stable, it sways in the wind. And it's always windy there. At least, it's always been windy while I've been there.
I looked down a few times. gonk

i've got a problem with one kind of height: Rope(s) courses. For those fortunate enough to have no idea what i'm talking about, you're put into a harness, locked down with lobster clasps, and tied to steel cables suspended fifty-sixty feet or more up in trees. You then have to walk from tree to tree on a cable no bigger than an inch in diameter, and at the end, there's either a zip line or a swing. This is why i no longer go to camp. i've been on the things twice, both times forced to. But elevators? Tall buildings? i'm fine with that. i've always thought that observation balconies on really tall buildings are great. Especially for romantic purposes... And i've won national awards for impromptu public speaking...
Given the amount of lizards i keep, i can't be afraid of bugs. i have to buy nine to twelve dozen crickets a week. That spider looks like something my Rokku would snap up like it was a filet mignon. He ate a brown recluse (super poisonous) a few days ago. (He's fine.)
However, i'm terrified of costume characters. Disney World is Hell for me. The closest i was ever able to come to one was the time i punched Pooh Bear in the nads. Seriously. I just ran at him with my fist out when i was three. My parents had to take me away. People in light costume, like the princesses and stuff, i can deal with, but those full-body furry things scare me to death.
And i'm also kind of afraid of night, but only in my hometown. Which is really weird, considering we have a crime rate of less than one percent. i can walk around Muncie or Chicago at night and feel fine, but i always feel like there's somebody watching me from the bushes at night.

1. agoraphobia. an anxiety disorder which primarily consists of the fear of experiencing a difficult or embarrassing situation from which the sufferer cannot escape. OH MY GOD. This explains a lot, actually. Wow... I have something else in common with Deaky. Neat. Anyhoo. This is so me. I don't have nightmares, but sometimes I just envision in my head extremely embarassing situations and then think how utterly awful it would be if I was actually in said situation. And sometimes I am all reclusive and quiet in public because I'm afraid I'll be put into a situation like that...
Animal fears: 2. Stinging Insects. I have a deathly fear of these things. Honestly. Especially when they get in the house. I make someone else kill them. Spiders (unless they're huge), I'm fine with; I'm not even scared of mosquitos, flies, and other types.
3. Centipede looking things. Bleh. They just look so gross.
4. Bats. Okay on tv, even outside if they're at a distance, but get one inside and you'd think I was being attacked by a murderer.
Other Fears: 5. Heights, but only if there is a chance of me falling from them. I like being on top of buildings, on rides that go really high, and all that stuff, but only because I know I'm safe...
6. The dark. I don't know why, but if I'm alone, and everyone in the house is asleep, I am afraid of the dark. Partly because I think our house is slightly haunted.... And the big one.
7. DEATH. Seriously. Sometimes I sit in my bed at night (before I get to sleep) and cry because I know someday I'll die, and I'm afraid nobody will remember me, and it will be like I never even existed.... I'm also quite afraid of dying alone, without somebody to love. Sounds emo, but it's oh so true.
