I'm just in the middle of my A level exams at the moment, I was just wondering if anyone else had any and would like to rant about them. Or people can use this space to rant about stressful things in life in general! The two things are very connected. mrgreen

No exams for me. I finished college about two years ago.

What is "A level"? I have heard the phrase before, but always on the internet from people in other countries, and I can never remember what it means since we don't use it here.

A levels are the last two years of the British schooling system.
In Mauritius I would have done IB. (International Baccalaureate.)
Here it was Grade 11 and Matric (the SA system)
What do you guys have in the US?

We have grades K, 1, 2, 3....11, 12. That's for elementary (usually K through 6), middle (usually 7 and cool and high school (usually 9-12).

After that, if you go to college, you can get a certificate (one year), Associates (two years), Bachelor's (four years), master's (about six), or Ph.D. (roughly eight years, often more).

I did K-12, and I have an Associates (Criminal Justice) and a Bachelors (Psychology). 3nodding

I'm working on a Bachelors at the moment. And Mystik lies, currently there are strikes going on that are keeping the school closed. Although schools go back on Monday apparently.

Interesting. I do not recall my school ever having a strike.

There's never been a strike at my school either... It's interesting how different all the grade systems are in different countries... So what subjects are people doing then? (apologies to those not in school!) I'm doing Chemistry, Biology and English Literature.

*sits and waits for someone to list.* (I'm out of school)
I used to do Maths, English, Afrikaans, Science (Physics and Chem combined, you couldn't do one or the other), Geography and History.

Sounds good! Last year I did Maths as well, so doing English, two science subjects and that nearly drove me crazy. I really don't have a brain suited for maths!

Maths was compulsory in my school. but yay, I'm not there anymore. I did maths, geography, Home ec, afrikaans, english, and history.
Tried are for a while but failed miserably. I got B's. crying

Cara is one of those people that worry and stress about every single exam she does. Example dialog:
"How was your exam?"
"I failed."
"No you didn't."

Two weeks later:
"Wow, I passed my exam."
