Academy Dormitories

User Image

The campus dormitories are where the majority of the Academy students live when they aren't training, eating, or skipping class. All rooms are basic in design, containing the necessities of a desk, bed, appropriate lighting, and shelves for books, knicknacks, and whatever else one can find. Storage space for clothing can also be found in the corner of each dorm room. There is a considerable amount of floor space in each dormitory, allowing ample room for students to stretch before classes. The two bedroom dormitories are a little different in design, containing a common room, or general living space, with the bedrooms located on different sides of the common area. This common area is shared equally by both students inhabiting the room, and contains two desks, and separate bookshelves for either students use. The dormitories themselves open out into the open air corridors going through the building structure. Though covered to offer protection from the elements, the open air hallways are considered a pleasant addition to what might otherwise be considered a stuffy living area.
---------------------------------------

The locations of each students dormitory room will be noted here. Starting at the 100s, and going to the 400s, there are an ample amount of rooms on each floor. Floors 1 and 2 are single dormitory rooms, while floors 3 and 4 are two bedroom dorms. The room numbers listed below are first come, first serve, and more will be added as necessary. To have your name added, please send a PM entitled 'Dorm Room', with the number you are requesting. Edit: Please also add your character's name! I'm getting tired of having to search the thread for your profile to add it! Requests for a shared double bedroom dorm room must be requested by both players if wanting a shared room; and yes, any gender may share the two person dorm rooms.

If you haven't already gotten yourself a dorm room, please make certain that you do so. Also, note that if you're going to have a dorm room in the 300's or 400's, your room must be shared with another student. :3 No, gender limitations do not apply. Everyone in Soul Society is considered 'grown' enough to share rooms, as there are separate beds in each room. If you don't yet have a room, PM either Tsai Lin, or Dischord, with your character's name, and the room number you're requesting.. If it's a number we don't have up already, go ahead and request a different number.

Upon receiving word that all students are to return to the dormitories to rest, Shunketsu was a little bit upset. He wanted to continue training, but he eventually decided to go back to the dorms.

Upon reaching back to his room, he just collapsed on the floor and stared at the ceiling. He didn't realize that he had left his room door wide open, but even if he did, he probably didn't even care...

Shiru hated sparring one-on-one in Hakuda for one specific reason.
You couldn't have any real technique or have a specific plan, at least that's what he thought.
Shiru found Zanjutsu much better because you can plan part of it out.
Still, he'd won today, how he'd never know though.
He walked up the stairs to the fourth floor and slid open the door to his room.
Tossing his Zanpaktou ono his bed gently, Shiru leafed through the books on the shelf.
He desperately needed somethin to read after his fighting today.
Suddenly, his eyes spotted something that wasn't on the shelf before, a diary.
Shiru didn't own a diary, no way he would ever have one.
He opened it and leafed quickly through the pages, stopping and closing the book again after a few moments.
It was nothing, probably someone else's he simply found one day, even though it looked strangely familiar.
Shrugging, Shiru took a book on Zanjutsu techniques and walked back outside into the open hallways.
He hopped up onto the railing over the courtyard and swung his legs as he read.
His attention was caught onto his bracelet suddenly, which was shining.
It was a black pearl, and he got it after becoming a spirit in the Soul Society.
Shiru simply gazed at it, still wondering what it was meant for.

Kaosu sighed, sitting in the middle of his room, his back turned to the wall as he began contemplating.

Quote:
To be honest with you Kaosu, your a great guy and all but...your a bit cocky and you don't know your place in this society, which can be a good trait or bad depending on how you look at it. But it really depends on your views on a person. I personally, don't mind your cockiness, it's something that makes you, you".

Kaosu sighed. He wanted to know what Tsai meant by that. He didn't have enough time to explain as they were kind of...well...forced off the Sokyoku Hill as it were. I don't know my place in this society? What does he mean? Does it mean that I don't have...what it takes?

His thinking was interrupted by a soft step in his room. He spun around, to see Sentan standing there. Kaosu sighed, relaxing. "Don't nobles normally knock?" The man smiled.

Normally. Not when your door is wide open however. We like to call that an 'open invitation'. He laughed, sitting down next to Kaosu. Shuffling inside came two of what only could be considered his guard. "Now, did you think it over?"

It was Kaosu's turn to laugh. "Not really. I was preoccupied with knocking people's blocks off." He waited for the other's to join in, but they didn't. Wow. This atmosphere really isn't that jesting, is it?

If you were fighting, did you lose?" Sentan asked, concerned. He wanted to make sure his successor was strong enough. It was resonable to want that, a strong fighter for a failing house. "How many fights were there?"

Kaosu ran a hand through his hair, sighing with relief. "Let me recall. There were two fights, and I won twice. Makes me feel pretty good." He smiled, and this time Sentan smiled back. There is hope yet that this man might laugh at a joke...

"But please, do you have a decision? Or must I wait longer?" Sentan asked, nervously clutching his hands together in his lap. "This suspense has been far too much for me already."

Kaosu frowned, closing his eyes. "Well, what do you want from me?" He was asking in terms of 'trials', and things he would have to give up.

I want a loyal son who will follow my orders. I want a son who will be strong and dependable. Most of all, I want someone with a slightly rambunctious spirit."

Not the answer I was looking for... "Okay, but what do I have to give up?" He bit his lip nervously, afraid that he'd undergo something dreadful. He was fairly right.

"Please don't be alarmed, but there are quite a few." Sentan remained silent for a while, before continuing. "You will learn these later."

Kaosu smiled. This man wasn't stupid in the slightest. "I like you, Sentan Hokosaki. I like you alot." He paused for what seemed like the longest time, when in all actuality only lasted about 30 seconds, before he said, "You know what? Sure. Yes. I accept."

Sentan hugged the boy, before sliding back. "Are you sure you are up to this? I don't want to put you in a situation you wouldn't like..."

Kaosu cut him off short. "If I wasn't sure, I wouldn't have said yes."

Sentan stood, bowing. "You have no idea how happy you have made me...Kaosu Hokosaki." He bowed once more before walking towards the door. He was about to leave when he turned and said, "I'll meet you tomorrow. If you're up on the hill again I will be there to view your performance. If not, you know where to find me. Good day, Kaosu."

Kaosu watched them leave, and sighed. Does this practically make me nobility now? Ha. Wonder if I should break the news to Tsai? Bet he'd be surprised.

He laughed, laying down on the floor. But that still brings up the question of what he said earlier...I need him to clear that up for me...

Tsai was slowly walking down the stairs of his dorm when he sighted a man dressed with like if he was a noble. Tsai didn't bother wearing the noble stuff, he usually just left it at home. His attitude towards being a noble was quickly fading away. He walked over to Kaosu's dorm to see it wide open with Kaosu inside.

"Hey," he raised his hand and waved slightly at the shinigami infront of him as he stood by the doorway. "Mind if I come in?" Tsai asked. He wanted to talk to someone, Kaosu was a good listener, at times. "Should I tell him about my zampakuto...oh man, I don't know...maybe he can't keep a secret, what to do.. what to do.."

Kaosu smiled, his eyes closed. "Just the shinigami I wanted to see. Don't worry, apparently my door being open is an 'open invitation' to some." He smiled, sitting up, allowing Tsai room to sit down.

"So, what's on your mind that you've sook out the cocky Kaosu Ranmyaku?" He grinned, winking at Tsai. It was all in jest, for now.

Tsai got up from his seat and closed the door of Kaosu's dorm before he sat down again. "Can you keep a secret?" he asked Kaosu coming closer to him with a whisper. "I've unlocked the ability to use my shikai," he told Kaosu as he leaned back over to his own seat. "I don't want anyone to know yet, it'll be our secret," he paused and waited for a response from Kaosu.

For some odd reason, Tsai wanted some tea. Partly because he was a noble of the Lin Noble Clan who adored tea and partly because Tsai was thirsty and wanted something to drink. "Well, I told him, but that's all I'm telling him".

For about a whole minute, an uneasy silence hung in the air. Kaosu just stared at Tsai, bug-eyed and mouth shut. Finally, he rolled onto his knees, grabbed Tsai's hand, and began shaking it vigorously. "Congratulations!" He said, pulling Tsai into a hug, patting him on the back.

So...that's what was so different. He pulled away and sat back down, scooting up towards him. At first, Tsai was weaker than me. After the fight with the chick, he gained all new sorts of strength. Now he's on a plain so much higher than myself.

He smiled, nodding. "Beats my secret. So tell me, what happened?! What was it like? What is it like? What is your zanpaku-to's name?!" Wish I knew mine... His hand subconciously ran itself across his zanpaku-to's hilt, itching to hear more.

Haro did not own a room in this place..he never really though t he deserved a room so he hadn't asked for something he did not need or deserve to have. He sighed as he sat out on the grass outside the dormitories...thinking about things...about how he had become weak...he needed to train more...but it was difficult for him to train when he was so down on himself. If there was one thing he would never show his friends, it would be his pain. His inner turmoil would just remain his little secret. He wondered if friends is what he could call anyone here...he liked to think of Kaosu as a friend...but really...he didn't know the first thing about what friendship was. He smirked as he sat there, and took in a deep breath.

He wondered what he was here for anyways, there were so many people around that were stronger then him...so many more suited to protect this place, he couldn't make a dent in that...not even if he trained constantly for years. He was doomed. He smirked ever so slightly as he sat there in the grass, looking up at the moon...he wondered if he would ever find out what his purpose was. He closed his eyes, wondering what the others were up to and then he saw the face from before apear infront of him, his face yet again, stone cold and emotionless. "I am you." It repeated, just as it did at Tsai's home. "You are searching for the real you...I am you. Haro...do not fret or tempt yourself with thoughts of faliure...know you are strong...and know that you are great. All you need to do is give it time to surface." The voice said with a smile.

Haro sighed as his eyes snapped open. "Yea...I have the real me talking to me....but I wish I could just be the real me." He grumbled as he looked over his shoulder at the dorm rooms. There was a cool breeze and he felt it chill his skin lightly. "Well...I guess I will have to wait to find out what the next training session brings." He said sadly.

Shiru was still staring at the bracelet as someone else walked into the dorms.
He looked down and tilted his head to the side.
How come this guy wasn't going to a room, instead of sitting on the grass?
Shiru sighed lightly, realizing that sometimes, he was too nice for his own good.
He slammed his book shut with one hand and tossed it back into his room.
The book landed next to his Zanpaktou, on his bed.
Shiru looked back down at the guy and smiled.
"Yo!"
He pushed himself off the railing and fell through the air to the courtyard.
Shiru landed on one knee near the guy and stood back up, brushing himself off.
"Hey, how come you're not going to a room? Do you even have one?"
He crossed his arms and studied the guy for a few moments.
The guy was at he spars, but Shiru never actually got to see him fight anyone.

"I can't remember the exact details" Tsai began to lie, he remembered it very clearly. "But I did some training in the world of my zampakuto, he taught me things and eventually he told me his name, what his name is..you'll find out eventually" he smiled. "So I hear you have something to say?" he stared at Kaosu.

Tsai was interested, not everyday did someone like Kaosu have something special that did not relate to his training. "Did it have something to do with that man that just walked out of your dorm when I first came by?" he asked raising an eyebrow as he stared at Kaosu.

"Think I told him too much Lei Gong?" he asked in his thoughts. "It wouldn't hurt if you told him more, but I think it would be better for him to learn on his own and experience that feeling," Lei Gong replied.

Kaosu laughed shakily, scratching the back of his head. "Yeah, I was getting to that. Anyhow, I guess I'll start from the beginning."

Kaosu sighed, straightening his posture. "When we went to climb the Sokyoku hill, I kind of froze up for a while. You should remember that. Anyhow, I started climbing again, and was about a half of the way up, when I fell." He blushed, smiling faintly again. "I thought I could go on with just my bare hands and legs. But that's not the point." He pointed out, hurrying on with the story. "I tried breaking my fall on my own, but it wasn't working. I just kept smacking into ruts in the wall and trying to dig my zanpaku-to into the rock. I would have died from that height."

He took a breath, a single pause in the story. "But this noble who apparently was watching me, came and saved my life. His name is Sentan Hokosaki." He shifted his legs, continuing. "I managed to get healed by Ugu and he told Sentan to help me back up to the top where we were training. Sentan just kind of made idle chit-chat for a while, and then popped a question."

He sighed, closing his eyes. "I told him that I was in his debt for saving my life. It was only right at the time. He told me that, in turn for his debt, that I should consider being...adopted." He opened his eyes, lazily tracing a finger on the floor.

"He came again today, and...well...I said yes." He smiled weakly, staring at Tsai. "Guess that makes me a noble, right?"

Tsai wasn't surprised. Nobles were always adopting people into their families whether it be for love or for power, like Tsai's case. "If I'm a noble, that makes you the same as me," Tsai patted Kaosuon the shoulder.

"Truth be told to you Kaosu, I'm not a noble by blood. I was adopted when I first came to Soul Society because of the high level of reiatsu I had. The Lin Clan was headed by my grandfather back then who was an ambitious man who wanted more and more power for the clan and adopted. He eventually died after a hollow ambushed him so I heard, and my dad has been the head ever since," Tsai commented as he got comfortable by lying back.

"I was the same as you back then, reckless, cocky, maybe the change into noble blood will change you too?" Tsai remarked as he looked at the ceiling and placed his hands behind his head as a sort of cushion. "So who's this Sentan guy again? I've never heard of the Hokosaki clan before..lower class minor nobles I'm guessing?" Tsai asked, in truth he had never heard of the clan before.
