The Mistake
The Guardian of Glass was a being of beauty and elegance like that of the glass she watched over with a strong and steady hand. Her hands and arms were constantly scarred by the molten hot glass that she worked with. She enjoyed displaying the beauty of her charges to the world and teaching others how to make and work with glass. But as much as she admired the glass' beauty, she was vain of her own, always taking care to keep her hair long and silky though unpractical for her work. Her vanity grew until she built a monstrosity that would show her reflection like a water's surface but still. Lining the back of her glass with a silver metal, she created the first looking-glass. As she worked, the Iridae would stop and look at herself in the looking-glass but slowly it got worse until she spent every waking moment in front of it. She began to shirk her duties in bringing beauty and elegance to the world with her glass works and teaching her students, she only ever worked with glass to improve upon the looking-glass so that her own reflection was improved each time until she became a ghostly monster.
