Ugh, the dreaded "mom jean". stressed We've seen it a thousand times... heck some of us have probably even bought a pair. Well, I for one think that moms should look as hot as possible... and mom jeans do not = hot!!!! This forum is for us to talk about fashion and share beauty tips. Makeup, hair, clothes... the works. Ladies, we are beautiful on the inside and we should reflect that on the outside!!! We deserve it.♥

but on the flip-side of the coin, we really shouldn't be running around looking like hoochies at the club when we're gorcery shopping... lol... but I agree. And ladies, JUST SAY NO TO THE TAPERED LEG JEANS!!!! They are the epitome of evil, and look good on no one... hehehe
let's hear some fashion advice!
(of course, I have on my "mom shirt" today, but it's not bad. It's a pale yellow, and reads, "Cheerios" and the "i" is dotted with a life-size cheerio. mah~valous!)

Lol, HOOCHIES!!!!! Speaking of hoochies, I love it when I got to Walmart or the Mall where I work and see 11 and 12 year old girls dressed like they are about to go clubbin'. My mom would never have bought me clothes like that when I was that age! Of course, I don't think they even made clothes like that for young girls back then!
Anyway, I have a hair tip. As moms, we have those days when our hair is gross and doesn't want to act right... a lot! So, I like to buy cute and cheap ribbon at Walmart and wear it in my hair like a head band. I like to get ribbon with funky patterns and bright colors. That way, I can be lazy with my hair (just finger comb it back) and still look cute!

I've personally been loving the "Kendra" ribbon from Wal*Mart. It's sparkly, but not excessive, and comes in a wide enough range of colors that you can wear it every day. The nice part of it is they have just enough texture to the fabric of the ribbon that they're super quick and easy to tie, too! heart

well hello ladies, when it comes to fashion i guess I don't have much of it lol. But my sons friends think im cool because i dress like one of the guys, Yea i was always a tomboy growing up, and well the style of clothes stuck with me even as a adult. kinda sad but Im comfortable and I like the way i look. It may not be very fashionable but it work. And as for the girls you were talking about omg i hear you, I would never buy those for my kids if i had a daughter. I am so glade i had a boy. But i have to say i have one of the boys that likes to keep his pants down on his @ss. I think i am always telling him pull those things up lol.

LoL you and me both..... I have to constantly tell my youngest to pull them up.... Then I ask him if he is practicing to be a plumber?? LOL As for my daughter she is on the conservative side... So I don't have to worry about her wearing anything that skimpy... And OMG!!! Have you seen what it costs to buy a pair jeans that look like they went thru war?? I think they call that the grunge look..... I remember growing up if I had a hold in my jeans mom or grandma would immediately put an Iron on patch and they were always real stiff in that area....

I got my hair cut short a few months ago, and now my husband wants me to grow it back out. It is in the horrid in between stage and I hate it. I have to constantly wear a headband to keep it out of my face. I can't put it all up yet and I can't wear it down yet because it looks terrible. Any advice?

Pagan Faery I got my hair cut short a few months ago, and now my husband wants me to grow it back out. It is in the horrid in between stage and I hate it. I have to constantly wear a headband to keep it out of my face. I can't put it all up yet and I can't wear it down yet because it looks terrible. Any advice? You could get those little clips that are sort of shaped like an arrow and clip your bangs back. That's a cute look that I do sometimes. Or if you don't have bangs, take some of the middle front section for your hair, brush it straight back a couple of inches and then clip it. (I wish I had a picture to show you, It's hard to describe.)

you could use the little snaps like Maria suggested, or you could use the little mini-claws. grab small sections and twist back to the crown of your head, clip, and love! Using a ribbon could also be an option here (rather like a headband). Depending on how short it is, you could use a texturizer as well, and go for that awesome spikey-ish look in the meantime while it grows, too! blaugh heart
you could also do 2 little pigtails at the crown of your head. (much like the "devil horns" that toddlers get, but not straight up, naturally)

mrgreen I like the devil horns idea.... I am with Pagean Fairy I haven't cut my hair in almost a year.... and with the heat right now it is so hot that I am contantly pulling up in a pony or clip but like you you when it wasn't quite long enough to do that I had to use headbands..LOL and then depending on the headband I would then get headaches.. but now I just pull it all back and with the stray few that don't make it all the way back I use thouse silver snap clips... or I use gel to slick it back then, but when I don't want to mess with it on goes the hat..... Especially on those days when I don't feel like messing with it...

~Never worry about the size of your Christmas tree~ My personal beauty tip for the "MILF" Look, is let your natural beauty shine though. Don't hide it under all that crazy make up! I mean.. I LOVE crazy make up.. but it isn't a shameful thing to put on a nice five minute face everyday that allows your natural beauty to shine though and let the world see your nice skin.
(I mean. there are moments where you SHOULD in fact dazzle up those eyes and lips a bit more.. but those are supposed to be saved for special occasions.)
Anyways. What I do is..
Get up, wash my face, brush my teeth, MOISTURIZE!, put on a light powder foundation, eye liner, a light highlighter around the eyebrows; inside the eye, and the tops of the cheek bones, then I add a little bronzer to my face.. and last flip those eye lashes and add either black or clear mascara. Boom.. done. Normally I can get all this done in 5 to ten minutes. If I have a little extra time I put on a light purple or pinkish color on my eyelids, just to make them POP a little extra.
But, I can't STRESS enough.. that it's all in the eyes. Because, the eyes are the gateway to the soul.. and if you have tired looking eyes.. why would anyone want to look deep into your utmost prized part? The part of which all woman grow from, and love from? (Well.. I believe that the soul and heart work hand and hand in all my most important decision makings and creative patterns)
So, if you can't even find time to do all the face.. make time to clean your face and do you eyes at least. There are many days I do just that.. (^_^)
