Author's Notes: It's fun to write, but I'm a bit dubious on how the actual reading of it will be. It's going to be a short series actually, only about 20 or so chapters, but the story line is good.

Summary: Uzumaki Naruto, the Rokudaime, was 25 years old when he was approached by Gaara's son with the ultimate solution. Until then, he hadn't known what the hourglass on the Suna nins' hitai-ate stood for, but as he is carried back in time, it becomes all to clear. Now with the chance to make or break the future, which will he do? Things will progress, they will become different from what he remembers, but fate is hard to stave off. The more things are different, the more they will stay the same...

Author's Notes: This is currently my most active story. It won't last forever obviously, and it'll be kinda short too (at least, not 50 some chapters), but it's a fun write, and has some definite differences from other time travel fics.

Summary: In the middle of the bell test, a strange chakra comes pelting at Kakashi and Naruto. Now, Naruto is acting weird: he's less brash, he knows things, he even stopped pranking! What's wrong with the Kyuubi vessel?

Author's Notes: I'm writing this with my friend, and it's kinda fun... I haven't read anything like it's main idea (it never shows Naruto's POV, which is odd for it's sort), so it's at least a bit original.

The Wizard of Konoha (Teaser):

“Uchiha, Haru!” The crone said to the hall. She completely butchered his name with her h’s and the odd “er” noise that everyone here seemed to use. Haru couldn’t understand how they could make that noise, but he figured it was just a cultural things, like how rock nin had to say “stone” or something of the sort in any conversation, or how suna nin needed to have sand with them where ever they went if they intended to sleep.

Still, Haru approached the stool and only removed his new “wizard hat” for the old tatty one. His hitai-ite remained on, no matter how many odd looks these freaks gave him. Apparently the metallic headband and sandals were not normal attire among these people, but then again, robes and cloaks were their regular clothing options. They were hardy a step above Uzumaki on the fashion foodchain.

The Hat started speaking in that odd language, directly into Haru’s mind. The chuunin scowled. Not even this horrid hat could speak Japanese! The wizards were amazingly annoying in their ignorance to his language, especially for having brought him here.

And, suddenly, it spoke Japanese… or, rather, Haru’s brain waves were altered to understand English. “You care greatly for your village,” The hat said. “I see you would go into battle in a heart beat for someone you care about… or, more accurately, against the one that killed them. Let’s see… you’re a ninja, eh? I haven’t sorted one of you in a long time! Not in twenty years, interesting how these things work…”

“Hai,” Haru thought in boredom. This was tedious, couldn’t the hat just put him somewhere?

“You are quite smart, top of your class at the academy I see, you even graduated three years early! Quite rare, quite rare indeed,” The hat seemed rather pleased. “You care for your cousin I see, your age even, that slows great loyalty to your familial ties. And… hm, you aspire to be strong and-“

The hat stopped, but Haru knew what it had come across. His vow to kill Itachi. He was an avenger, it did not matter that Sasuke was just as determined, Haru was a genius. He would be the one to kill the traitor, his hands were already red with the blood of a hundred, what was the addition of blood kin?

“… Slytherin,” The hat said quietly to the hall. It was not the vigorous shout it had given before, it was more a subdued comment similar to the reactions of the Uzumaki boy when no one noticed his accomplishments. The hall barely caught the undertone, but it was plain as day if one listened. Fear. The hat was afraid of the Uchiha genius and what would happen if he were in the house of snakes.


How To Save a Life (Teaser):

He stepped forward, flicking a blonde lock from his eyes. The mysterious nin with an hourglass hitai-ate stood before him. The man didn’t trust the shinobi from Suna, but the offer was enticing. A deep breath to calm him barely worked, but the jinchuuriki had made up his mind.

“I will accept this,” He sighed after a moment. His once-cerulean eyes were red, his whisker scars almost an inch thick each. Anyone would be frightened of Uzumaki Naruto, anyone but the Suna ninja before him who played with an hourglass. He could hardly bare it, but he had to. He had to save Konoha, and only this shinobi could help him.

“A wise decision, Hokage-dono,” the Suna nin smiled. He held up his palm and collected sand in it with a concentrated effort. “Who would have thought a jinchuuriki would be the one to save us all though, ne?” The red haired youth laughed. He was hardly ten, yet he was in line to be the Kazekage… hardly surprising really, his father held the position long ago. “I hope you can help them, all of them. For both our sakes.”

The boy used up much chakra and, in a moment, an hourglass sat in his hand, matching his hitai-ate. The Suna nin had as many hidden techniques as the Konohagakure, but until three days ago, no one outside the village had even the slightest idea as to the reasoning behind the hourglass on their forehead protectors. Now, Naruto did.

The blonde reached for the instrument, and vanished in a heartbeat.


What's Up With Naruto? (Teaser):

Hatake Kakashi smirked beneath his mask as he appeared Naruto. His hands were in the form of the Tiger seal. “Showing you back so many times is poor ninjutsu… dobe.” He informed his student.

A female voice came from the bushes, shouting her warning to her idiotic teammate. “Naruto! Get out of there! You’ll be killed!”

That pink haired kunoichi doesn’t know how to be subtle… Kakashi thought, making a mental note to make her less banshee-esque… should she pass.

The blonde boy before Kakashi turned to give the speaker a look of confusion and fear. He barely had time to whisper, “What?” before his Jounin instructor said, “Too late.” and made his move.

With a shout of, “Konohagakure’s most secret and most sacred technique, Sennen Goroshi!” (Pain of thousand years) Kakashi thrust his fingers towards Naruto’s hindquarters, only to stop short. His eyebrows rose.

What is this incredible chakra I’m sensing? It’s coming in fast, about as fast as an ANBU… no… faster! What the- Kakashi’s thoughts were cut short as a wave of chakra swept through the training field. The circular chakra was speeding in towards his position… closer… closer…
