I as a noob, am unsure as to how to perform trades with a person you cant phisically see. Now I've traded with my brother, sitting in the same car with him.
However, there are situations, where I can not trade with a person sitting near me. I wish to know how to handle this.

You can use either the Global Trading System or the WiFi.

great, means I have to get something more reliable than the set up I'm currently using. would the wifi, work in the same way, as it does with close proximity?
I want to avoid using the GTS.

Why exactly would you want to avoid the GTS? It's a great way to get Pokemon you may not have and makes collecting all 480+ pokemon a lot easier.
Either way, to use wi-fi, you need either a router or access to a wi-fi spot. Dozens of McDonalds across the country support wi-fi, as well as various other places. If you want to do it in your own home, however, and if you don't have a router, you may just want to pick up the USB Dongle at Gamestop. It'll allow your PC to give off a wi-fi signal specifically for the DS/Wii.

It is I agree, however....... I wouldn't want either party to lose something they placed up. and I'm assuming for wifi we are assuming the union room yes?
I do have a router here, however, it don't last for more than 10 minutes without a quick reset, just long enough to cancel any wireless capability.
Well dollar menu it is.

Lady Visara It is I agree, however....... I wouldn't want either party to lose something they placed up. and I'm assuming for wifi we are assuming the union room yes? Oh no no. The GTS works nothing like the Union Room. Basically, the way it works is one person puts a Pokemon up for offer, puts their offered Pokemon in the GTS servers, and whenever a person accepts the offer, the exchanged Pokemon is sent to you next time you log on the GTS right off the bat. Its best to try to do trades in the evening if you want japanese Pokemon. The odds of you getting a good trade from them are usually exceptionally high.

Also, if your patient, you could get something really good for nothing. It just takes one or two days. xD
