I can't really say I've looked lately, but I've been wondering if anyone knows some good DMC fanfics on the net. By good, I mean pretty spot-on if they claim to be in character, and still kinda close if it's out of character wacky type stuff. Good writing as far as fanfics go. And if they have original characters, that's fine but Mary-Sues make me retch.

So if anyone wants to make suggestions, that's great and thanks.

Financial Diaries of a Devil Hunter
(Funny as hell, it describes how Dante manages to get enough money to keep running his shop, and simply put-- he doesn't. xd )

DMC4: Devil Bringer
(It's about-- what else? DMC4.)

the entire Brothers in Arms series
(it's kind of AU, involves Dante traveling back in time and such, and a little shounen ai... God, I suck at summaries...)

Original Crisis
(This one focuses on original characters more than anything, they're out to stop Mary Sue from taking over the fandom and such. The story starts in Mission 7 of DMC3, but although the story doesn't even show Dante or Vergil much, the parts they're in are funny. It's really wordy, though...)

Black Candles
(The story's pretty much what would happen if Dante failed to beat Arkham in Mission 19. Ladycentric, with really dark themes.)

then there are the M rated fanfictions, like Primal and Sacred. ('Primal' is really sick, but I can't stop reading it! 'Sacred' is a Vergil x Lady fanfic if you're into it.)

I recently read several that are pretty good.
The worst thing in any of these is language and pervs *glares at Dante* No links, though, just in case, but I'll give you the names, and tell you they're on ff.net

Teenage Girls With Cameras
This is a fic that's actually pretty good. The only canon characters are Lady and Dante, plus a handful of OCs. The apparent pairing character is, mercifully, NOT a Mary-Sue. Pending the next update, let's say this much: IC Dante + public schools = ? (as of chapter 6)

The Devil Inside
Good, developed story, author is smart, and has it planned up until the ending (outlined, at least, fills in the details along the way). VergilxLady, just so you know, but it's done tastefully, and everyone stays pretty IC.

The Curse of the Ducky Trunks
It's pure and utter crack, but it's crack that's written well mrgreen It's worth checking out. The first few are about Eva and the twins when they were young. Very amusing indeed. The last two chapters (4 & 5) make up a two part story that's very funny indeed.

Devil May Cry: Dante's Apprentice
Well balanced, crack-ish at times, but not bad. Involves long-lost families, but it is thankfully NOT brothers, sisters, or any of that "Dante, I'm your real mother/father" (yes, I've seen those sweatdrop ...). It seems to be developed, and has a healthy amount of twisting to it.

Okay, so there's that. I thought I had a few more, but then I remembered that they were just the ones I kept reading because I can't stand to leave something half-done stare

Also, let me say that, while yaoi is wonderful, and twincest is great, I just can't see DxV. As amazingly wonderful that would be, IT WOULDN'T HAPPEN.

I so agree. Like yaoi, like fan pairings, but none that absolutely wouldn't work. in any anime/manga/game.. neutral

Frail Equilibrium by Elvenangelmaycry is pretty good.
