Welcome To Summer Snapshots!
The Big a** Photography Competition!!
xP
Rules:
1] All photos must be taken by you.
2] Only minor editing is allowed, unless stated otherwise
3] you are only allowed to submit one photo per categorie
4] you are only allowed to enter a maximum of 6 categories
5] only submit when i tell you too and in the format i tell you too.
6] photos do not need to be titled
7] you can during the photographing period showcase your photos in the main forum and ask other members for their feedback. but this is at your own risk as they may steal your idea. hee hee
8] Keep in mind that all photos you submit must be realted to summer in one way or another!!
9] BE CREATIVE. THINK OUTSIDE OF THE BOX. if you need inspiration for something, look up the theme in the dicitionary or even a theasaurus!! it might help spark and idea.
10] if i feel there is not enough submissions for a certain categorie, i have the right to terminate it. but i will PM you asking you if youd like that photo to be submitted into another categorie that fits that photo. :]

heart I'm not picky on judging as long as it's fair.
heart I prefer gold
heart I love the variety of categories and I intend to enter 6 (now to decide which 6!)

Conceptual is :
[ deviant art definition ] Photography where the identifiable subject is not the primary emphasis of the work, but rather the cryptic or interpretive meaning found in the composition of the photo.

and i guess gold is a good prize.
but i thought it would be cool to give actual items!!

This sounds really interesting! I agree with phoenixliv, the variety of catergies is great! It gives us more options to take pics of. Now I just have to choose which catergories I want to do

What about a floral/plants category?
And also, if a photograph fits in more than one category should we PM it to you for category placement, or just enter it in both?
This competition sounds like fun, I've always liked summeryish photography!

yeah a flower/plants category would be great
everyone takes pictures of flowers it would be great to see different people taking pictures of flowers and showing thier unique style.

GAH i thought i did.

oh right!! thats why, i put a MACRO category [ thats like uberclose ups. ] and i thought plants would go in there.
oh lol,
never mind. ill put one in.

and if a photo counts for many categories, you could put it in all of them, but that would be several entries gone on one shot. i reccomend to take LOADS of photos this summer and worry about entering later.

i'm thinking that patterns and textures could easily be made into one category, depending on how many entries there are. if there are lots, keep 'em seperate. if there are only a few, conglomerate them. just a thought.

This should be a fun comp!
I think you've kinda already decided but I think I'd prefer a panel of judge to pick the winner than public vote : )
I don't think you should have toooo many categories! A variety is lovely, but I think you should make the categories 'subjects' rather than 'techniques' : ) Encourage people to interpret the subject in their own way!
But that's my opinion : D
More categories mean more people can win n__n <3
Textures and patterns should probably be combined into one, they're both pretty similar xD
And it's winter for me : ( So is that okay? xD
