Beyond the desert lay a vast forest. Deep inside were many wildlife animals that didn't dare take a step beyond the forest line. This is where a small pack of wolves gathered. A small femme gazed up at her new alphess, wondering what she was going to do. the Alphess spotted the other femme's gaze and she nodded her head, having her maw full of the scruff of one of her newborn pups. The other one, in the maw of a large male, gazed ahead of him. Dakawa had escaped his mother's grasp and had decided to travel with his new Alphess, Raven. Much to his dislike, his sister had decided to tag along, too. "Raven, may I carry Karasu for a while? She looks very heavy," she asked the black alphess curiously. Raven shook her head as she pointed her muzzle in the direction of the forest line. The splotched femme nodded, knowing that the alphess was indicating that they were nearly at their new home.
Dakawa narrowed his eyes. It was too close to the border of the Barren packlands. He didn't know how kind the Barren Alpha was to his ex-packmates, but it was better than nothing. The group slowed and stopped next to the tree line and the pups were placed down on the ground. "Let's stay together while we wait for the other wolves to arrive," she said, flopping down next to her two pups, the third one with her mate, Hiei. Dakawa didn't dare lay down. He scanned the horizon, his eyes alert. Arisella, on the other hand, decided to join her alphess and watch the two pups with a watchful gaze.

Hiei grumbled as he carried Kurama around by the ruff of his neck. He was way too interested in the world around him. The young pup kept swatting at things, giggling and in general moving around.
Were they really father and son? He sighed between his teeth and gave his pup a small shake to stop him from moving too much. He sighed in relief when the stopped and set the male down. "We're almost home. Then these three can play together all they want."
Ashley tromped up with a wide grin. "DAKAWA!" She hollered, tackling her brother and wagging her tail. "Are we there yet? Did we find anything? I saw something shiny! Did you kno--" And the questions continued on and on in a flurry.
Kurama gave a low whine when his father placed him on the ground. The red eyed wolf groaned and picked him up, this time putting him beside Raven. "When do they get to the age where they don't whine all the time?" He asked with a smirk to indicate he was joking.

Raven nodded her head, agreeing with her mate. "Hopefully they will grow up as fast as Tsume's pups did. They seemed to grow like weeds. Moving around our packlands will become easier when they get bigger." She sighed slightly, happy that she had a few other wolves to help keep an eye out for the three pups.
Dakawa allowed his sister to pounce on him, falling onto one of his sides with a dull thud. Sighing, he half-listened to his sister as he kept a close eye on the pup he was guarding. He didn't want his sister stepping on the helpless pup. Raven or Hiei would kill him if his sister did anything to the pup.
Raven chuckled softly at Hiei's question. "When they get to the age where they can mate. My sister always whined, even after she became an adult. I hope she isn't too broken-up about me leaving her with my adopted father. She seemed to become more bitter as she aged, though. Must be her blind-ness." Her blind sister was giving her more trouble than Tsume was, but it was Tsume that made her leave, not Siyavash.
"It seems that this area is getting more and more cooler the further we get away from the barren pack-lands," commented Arisella. Raven nodded her head as she gazed at the forest that lay less than 5 miles from their current location. "Let's make that area our new home. It seems that Tsume hasn't made this area his territory. I don't smell his scent anywhere around here," she said before picking up Karasu and she began to walk towards the forest-line, Arisella behind her.

Hiei shook himself and picked up Kurama who only began to whine again. "I seriously think they're hungry." Once again he was on the move. After all, he was the alpha male. That made him leader right? Though it did seem that Raven was the one that was in control.
Ashley bounded off within a few minutes, distracted by the puppies. She sniffed at Karasu and wagged her tail excitedly. "Oh! Is it a boy or a girl? How come they're not talking or nothin?" She asked the new mother with a wide grin. This stuff was interesting!

Dakawa sighed as he watched his sister bound after the Alpha female. Slowly, he followed Ashley and trotted beside her. "She is too young to talk or do anything except suckle from her mother. Don't bother Raven with such questions. She is too busy to answer you," he told his sister sternly. It was true. Raven was too busy trying to keep her squirming daughter in her mouth. The three pups seemed to be a little too hungry for their mother's safety. She would have to stop in a safe place to nurse them soon.
It was then that she found a nice little shaded area underneath of a brush. Slowly, she crawled under the brush, placed Karasu under it, and then crawled out to fetch the other two pups. Once she had her second daughter, she placed Shizuru beside Karasu and then went to fetch Kurama from his father.

Hiei was having a heck of a time with his son. Kurama seemed to be the most active out of the three and was trying to explore the world around him by touch since he couldn't see or hear yet. The young pup held the spirit of a human and as such longed to satisfy a curiosity that he didn't understand.
The black male sighed in reliefe when he saw his mate and set down the squirming pup. "Once they nurse they may fall asleep and be easier to carry." He nudged his only boy toward his mother and went to check on his other two, giving Karasu and Shizuru a small bath.
Ashley let out a small growl when her brother told her off and shook off. "So how come you wanted to leave the pack?" She asked Dakawa with a small smile. She hadn't really gotten a chance to talk to him about it, only blindly followed him. He was really the only one who paid attention to her and she wasn't one of the smartest wolves.

"Hopefully," Raven said before picking up Kurama and walking under the brush, laying beside the other two pups. Gently, she placed the third one down and watched the three pups nurse.
Dakawa remained silent as he listened to his sister talk to her. Why had he decided to leave their parents' pack? He canted his head to one side as he sat down on his haunches. "I wanted to make my own mark in the world without being shadowed by father or mother. why did you decide to follow me? You could have lived a better life with mother." He was curious as to why ashley decided to follow him instead of staying with their mother.

Hiei sat down by his mate, watching as the cool moon began to rise and cool the desert. He ran his muzzle over the top of her head and looked down at their pups. "When will their eyes open? Its... hard seeing them so defenseless." He put his paw next to them, marveling at how big it was compared to their tiny bodies. So young and fragile. Was moving them so soon really the best option?
"Its... dad..." She replied ducking her head. "He's... not very nice to me just cause I don't always remember stuff." It was well known that Ashley had taken a kick to the head by a deer when she was a teen. Since then she hadn't really been the same. Loosing her ability to think clearly, keep focused, and remember simple things. She also seemed impaired when it came to judging distance or making plans. Part of her head was pushed in from the event, a permanent reminder.

Raven nodded her head. In due time their eyes will open. For now, they are helpless so we best keep a close eye on them. Once they do open their eyes, they will be a handful to deal with. Hopefully they will get easier to watch when they get older, but for now all we can do is prey that they don't turn out too hard to handle." Smiling, she licked each pup's back gently before laying her head down on her paws. she was tired after walking this far after giving birth less than a week ago.
Dakawa nodded his head, understanding her situation. He was rather distant with their father because he was always on the move. Their poor mother had to pratically raise him and his other siblings by herself. "Don't worry. You are far away from him. Besides, this is your chance to get a mate with the nearby pack. I hear that Raven's adopted brother is looking for someone," he said to his sister, winking at her.

Hiei lowered himself down on her other side and looked at the sky. A simple hunt turned into all of this? He couldn't be happier. He glazed at the other wolves in the small pack and flicked his ears forward. The only one that seemed as if she wouldn't be a use was the yellow one. However, it seemed her brother was her keeper so that wouldn't be a problem. Arisella, he didn't know much about her but it seemed as though she had good intentions and Raven trusted her. That was enough for him.
Ashley's fur reddened. "A mate? Me? I don't think that'll happen... I..." She lowered her muzzle in concentration. "I... think you should get a... mate." The last word broke apart but she got it out. She yawned suddenly and rested on the cooling ground. "A pretty one...! With uh... green-no... blue! Blue eyes!"

Raven gazed up at Hiei and she canted her head to one side. "Is something wrong?" she asked him curiously. she didn't like the look in his eyes, yet there was nothing she could do about that. All she could do was hope that he would accept the pack members that had followed her and Hiei as family.
"Me with a mate? I can't see that. I don't want to turn out like dad," he said, stifling a laugh. He didn't want to make Ashley feel ridiculed by her comment. "Besides, we still have time to think about that."

Hiei gave her a warm smile. "Just thinking..." He snuggled down next to his mate and placed a tired head on her paws. "Perhaps we should stop and rest for a while? The pups can't take much more."
Kurama had curled beside his sister's and was curly napping after he finished his milk. So much to see and do... he was exhausted.
"Sure! You could get a mate... I think daddy woulda been worse without mommy." The blond answered then distractedly chased a leaf, blown by the wind.

Raven nodded, agreeing with Hiei. "Either we can do that or make this our new home. It isn't Tsume's at all and besides, this forest here will be more than enough protection from everything," she suggested to him while gazing down at her pups, observing them carefully.
Karasu, on the other hand, was busy trying to get her share of their mother's milk. Kneeding on her mother's belly, she was going to make sure she would get each and every drop of milk that she could before the next feeding.
Dakawa watched his sister as she chased after the leaf, her words still ringing in his ears. Could he really find himself a mate? And if so, who would that be? It seemed that Ashley had the better chance of finding herself a mate rather than him.

"This is it then." He pulled himself to his feet, suddenly taking on a regal air. The alpha male suddenly let out a loud dominating howl before turning to the rest of his pack. "Tomorrow we will start to make borders around this, our new territory. For now, you may all rest."
Ashley skidded to a stop and glanced over at their leader, canting her head to the side. Home? They were home? A glee full smile crossed her muzzle as she responded with a howl of her own.

[sorry for the lateness of the reply X.X RL issues really hate me]
Raven smiled at her mate's decision to stay here. she nodded her head before gazing down at her two pups. She knew that the three of them would have a wonderful life living here. But was it the best thing for her pups? She thought so at first, but now she was having second thoughts. shaking those thoughts aside, she began to gently groom each pups one at a time to make sure they stayed clean and healthy.
Dakawa barely moved a muscle when he heard Hiei's call. So, this was to be his new home, huh? It seemed better than the home with his mother and father, whenever he was around. Yawning, he wandered over to a tree and settled himself down underneath of it, ignoring everything his sister was doing at that current moment.
