 {....Because they're not the BRIGHTEST stars in the sky.....}The howl rings forth over the territory, echoing off every corner and singing across the wind, deep, throaty, beautiful and magnificent. It would make hair stand on end, and freeze the blood in one's veins...were it not cut off, rather abruptly, but a loud and raucous laughing yelp.
A moment later, the brush erupts in a tumbling mess of wolves, wrestling, nipping, running, and scampering. The largest of these, a multi-hued blue male, disentangles himself from the group and slinks away, looking over the others with a look fo weary annoyance. The next largest, a bright orange male whose pelt is dotted in music notes, falls into a crouching position, tail waving like a banner behind him, eyes glittering in amusement. And, like a wave, erupting from the bush, a whole herd of puppies tumble out to pounce on the orange male, collapsing in a massive pile of wagging tails and fluffy, heaving pelts.
At a safe distance now, the blue male buries is maw in his paws and groans.

 {A map will go here if I'm feeling adventurous} When Malakai and Soko were younger, they found themselves out in the wilderness, drunk on their newfound independence and were soon quickly, utterly, and inextricably lost. They continued wandering the island, deciding that it was impossible to be lost if you had no destination in mind, and they spent the vast majority of their teen years as nomads. Eventually, though, they found a little corner of the island that they enjoyed, and decided to stay there for awhile. Their territory, if it can be called that, is a small patch of wood edged on one side by the beach and the other by a large field of wildflowers and overgrown grass. It's not much to look at, but it serves as a home-base of sorts, and wherever their roamings take them, they always manage to make it home.

Personality & History
Malakai is the oldest of the rag-tag little group, and the worrylines on his brow are a testament to both his age and maturity. He was just a teenager when he set out with his younger brother Soko for adventure and fun, but he's always been a solemn and hard-working wolf, even in the early days.
He has a special fondness for children, and is the reason for all of the adopted pups running around the territory. No one knows what it is, exactly, that's made Malakai so tender with youth, but since his teenage years there's been something soft and paternal about him. He always has a smile and a warm nuzzle for any child that crosses his path, and the easiest way to approach him is with a pup in tow.
There is loneliness lurking beneath his heart, however--a loneliness that haunts his steps and rises behind his eyes when he thinks no one is looking. What he really wants, more than his rag-tag pack, are children of his own and a mate for whom he can provide. He's a bit old-fashioned in this way, but it's his heartfelt belief that the purpose of males is to protect and cherish females, and it hurts him that he has yet to find the perfect female.

Personality & History
How, exactly, Soko and Malakai came to be partners in crime is a mystery; they were never exactly close as pups, and were hardly best of friends growing up. Indeed, most of the time they actually can't stand each other. And yet, they're always behind each other, supportive in the way only brothers can be.
The story goes--at least, if you believe Soko--that Malakai set off from home as the intrepid big brother and Soko, realizing that his older brother couldn't survive on his own in the wilderness, tagged along to keep him safe.

Personality & History
She was the first pup adopted by the brothers, and while in actuality is just a bit younger than Veleno, she considers herself the eldest and has asserted her dominance from day one. A tomboy and headstrong free spirit, nothing gets in the way of Kismet when she's set her mind to something, and it's foolish to even consider crossing her unless you're set for a battle. The pup is fearless to the point of being a daredevil, and won't take guff off of anyone--and she's hardly knee-height yet.
