I just wanted to know what people's experiences with fighting Ness in tournaments and how they'd rank his viability.

Personally, I've never played a player who mained Ness. But tier list-wise, he's bottom meaning it'll take a lot for him to compete with the upper tiers.

He is very easy to take advantage of on many stages depending on who you are playing, but that doesnt mean you can take it easy. Take the first stock slow and try different mindgames to see how he reacts, then go from there.

Me and the moose main ness. (well one of my mains) and do so fairly well. I can keep up with our best and his falcon. not to mention one of the worlds best DK's (from kens mouth not mine) You just have to stay on top of your opponent and make sure you can recover right.

Ness can be pretty hard if you don't approach him right.
Overall, IMO, Ness fails so hard cause his recovery blows. But i've fought a Ness that knows how to sweetspot and get around his crap recovery. : And those matches are not easy .__.

There are 2 ness mains around here, one of them isnt that great (turtling and thats it) and the other one i dont like having to face in a tournament because he'll probably win, my advice though if u have a character that can recover like fox samus jiggs, jump into their up b they die and you only take like 6 damage its worth it

Well Ness is my main so I was just wondering if it was possible for him to put up a decent fight. I've never really played in any tournaments and I don't think I'd fare too well, but out of the people I do play with my Ness is by far the best.

Any character used correctly can win, just go to youtybe type in "kdj pichu" you'll see him raping with pichu just work on everything mindgames tech skill and you'll get good and msot people don't know hjow to play against him I suggest picking up IC though for sheik because chain grabs ******** up almost everyone below her

Ness is a good thrower, he's also got a curving like jump which I always found to make it easy to escape enemies with. Ness is only as good as the player, but using Ness in tournaments isn't that good of an idea by me.
