Story:
Dragonball Izou is set a good 2000 years after the end of Dragonball Z, with all the major characters from Z long deceased. A few exceptions to this are Dende and Mr Popo. Popo had immortality from the beginning of the series, while Dende wished for eternal youth some years after the end of Z. Reasons for this are explained in the history below.
CHAOS FROM NOWHERE:
After DBZ and DB GT, the universe went into a period of peace and calm, with neither good nor evil having any overly powerful warriors to continue fighting for power. However, things changed when a powerful group of villains emerged, wreaking havoc across the North Quadrant on their way to Earth in search of the seven Dragonballs hidden there. Sensing the approach of these evil forces, Dende and Popo summoned the eternal Dragon, wishing to give the guardian eternal youth so the pair could go into hiding in the room of TAS until the forces of darkness could be overthrown. Many years passed with no such aid coming and the villains scoured the planet, having no luck finding the Dragonballs, due to Dende's lack of presence in that dimension. Millions of inhabitants were killed by the frustrated villains, their reign of terror finally ending when a small group of fighters headed in from New Vegeta, the new Saiyajin planet which had been conquered by a handful of remaining Saiyajin a few decades before.
The battle between the two sides was taken far from Earth, stretching out across the galaxy until nothing more was heard of it, people assuming it had ended after a year of tranquillity. With this danger gone, the guardian emerged once more and the whole quadrant went into a state of recuperation, the Saiyajin repopulating their home planet while Earth recovered from the massive damage it had taken.
The other major planet in the quadrant, Namek avoided most of this chaos and remained much as it was at the end of DBZ, the population reaching a stable number soon after the events on Earth.......
A GREAT DISCOVERY:
In the years after the invasion of Earth, the three main planets commenced training of fighters on a larger scale in the hope that it would help repel any future invasions. Earth and New Vegeta, which was now under the rule of their first king since the times of King Vegeta, both founded large military training camps, the one on New Vegeta lasting right to the present. Namek, meanwhile, focused more on training the few youngsters who showed promise in order to have a small, but fairly elite army. During this period of training, Namek was attacked from a far off planet, with a wave of troops hitting the Namekian planet hard, wiping out thousands of civilians, as well as crushing their small defences. All seemed lost until a young Namekian, overcome by anger for his fallen comrades went through a transformation never seen before, one which gave him powers equal to a Super Saiyajin. These powers were then seen as unstoppable due to the tiny number of fighters who could fight against it. Along with the few Namekian soldiers left, the youngster helped to repel the remaining forces and halt the attacks.
This young Namek became a legend among his own people, giving them the belief that it wasn't only the Saiyajin who could unlock unbelievable powers through transformations. This set of transformations became known as Chou transformations, which most non-Saiyajin races can reach if powerful and angry enough.
THE LAST GREAT WAR:
With his powers far beyond those of any other Namekian, the young Namek left his home planet for Earth to try and further his training, safe in the knowledge that his home planet was now safe, with any invaders now put off by the thought of coming up against this Namekian prodigy. It was here that his powers continued to sky rocket under his new trainers, accessing even higher levels of power until he was confronted by a villain who seemed to share the gift of the Chou transformations. The two staged the next great fight for supremacy but like their predecessors, neither could prevail and they agreed to cease their battle and try to help the following generations of fighters find a breakthrough, each setting up a renowned complex on Earth to do so.
AND THE PRESENT DAY:
The last great war was several hundred years back and the universe is still in search of the next generation of legendary fighters. With many young fighters already in the ascendancy, the universe already starts to brace itself for what could be the newest bout between the forces of good and evil.........
The stage is set for the newest generation of Dragonball Izou.
Races:
SAIYAJIN: A warrior race now based on New Vegeta, the Saiyajin are renowned for their strong fighters. The race has recovered after Freiza's attack on their old home planet and is now prosperous once more. The race has also spread to other planets, such as Earth, where there are quite a few of them! The Saiyajin vastly vary in appearance, although most have black hair and tails! Though their personalities vary greatly, the vast majority can occasionally be blinded by their own pride.
ADVANTAGES: Saiyajin are probably best known for their resilience. They can take extreme punishments in battle and still keep fighting, making them a formidable foe!
DISADVANTAGES: Some Saiyajin can still be weakened by grabbing their tail, although this isn't too common now.
TRANSFORMATIONS:
Saiyajin follow the SSJ transformations listed below. ALL Saiyajin characters, Half Saiyans etc follow SSJ transformations unless you have a damn good reason to follow another. I don't recall there being any reasons yet for it.
Super Saiyan @ 20 p.l. points (must be brought about by great anger. You must have the permission of a mod to transform so ask when you think you're ready. After two transformations, you can do the transformation at will.
Appearance= Golden hair, yellow/gold ki aura)
Ultra SSJ @ 24 p.l. (this increases your power even more greatly although your speed is divided 2. If you hate maths then don't do this!
Appearance= Same as SSJ but much more bulky due to greatly increased muscle size)
SSJ2 @ 26 p.l. (again, same rules as Super Saiyan
App.= Golden hair with gold aura. Bolts of electricity flicker in the aura)
SSJ3 @ 30 p.l. (App.= Similar to SSJ and SSJ2. Hair still gold, but much longer. Larger electricity bolts in aura)
SSJ4 @ 40 p.l. (App.= Hair colour same as colour when in normal state. Grows red hair over body)
No Oozaru transformations will take place as when in the Oozaru form, the creature is generally out of control and actions aren't really skill based.
NAMEK-SEIJIN: Most Nameks are based on Planet Namek and only a handful are on other planets. They are generally a peaceful race, who try to avoid conflict. Very few actually become exceptionally strong fighters. All Nameks have green skin and antennae, while height and build can vary. They reproduce asexually and therefore do not have genders (if you choose to have a Namekian character, just put "N/A" after gender.)
ADVANTAGES: Namekians have several advantages. First off, they are able to regenerate unless their head is damaged, meaning any wounds can be easily healed as long as they have the energy to do so (regeneration takes up energy!) They also have the ability to fuse with one another (permanently), meaning they don't have to learn the move from the list! Nameks are also known for their mental powers and psychic abilities!
DISADVANTAGES: Since their bodies are plant-based, Nameks are weak against fire attacks.
TRANSFORMATIONS:
Nameks follow the Chou transformations listed below:
Chou @ 20 p.l. (same rules as SSJ
App.= Only change is that the ki aura changes from the normal white one, to a fiery red one)
Ultra Chou @ 24 p.l. (same as ultra SSJ
App.= Ki changes from red to an orange shade. Muscles become much larger)
Chou2 @26 p.l. (App.= Ki is now an icy blue with bolts of electricity)
Chou3 @ 30 p.l. (App.= Ki becomes a darker blue with purple bolts of electricity)
Chou4 @ 40 p.l. (App.= Purple ki with large electricity bolts surrounding)
ANDROID: Androids come in two main categories; Energy Absorbing and Unlimited Stamina. Energy Absorbing Androids have special energy absorbers on their palms and can absorb energy blasts when they are low on stamina. The power of the attacks they can absorb depend on how powerful the Android is. For example, if a weak Android tried to absorb a blast of a much stronger fighter it could cause the Android to explode! They can also drain energy from a foe by grabbing them. Unlimited Stamina Androids have an endless supply of energy and never tire out. If you choose one, put "UNLIMITED" by their stamina attribute and add your 80 stat points to the other seven attributes.
Appearances can be just about anything!
ADVANTAGES: As well as the two advantages mentioned above, Androids also have special moves such as the Hell Flash (see the move list in the Unapproved Characters Forum). They can also learn a move which enables them to repair any damage they have received in battle.
DISADVANTAGES: Most Androids are weak against electric attacks, since they can damage their circuitry! They may also be vulnerable to rust if not taken care of! Energy Absorbing models can also malfunction if their energy levels run too low.
NOTE: You can make Half-Androids if you so choose, but if you do so, CANNOT also have unlimited stamina, since that combined with the other race's advantages would be unfair. ONLY 100% Androids can have unlimited stamina.
TRANSFORMATIONS:
Androids generally follow the Chou transformations (see Namekian transformations). If you wish for your Android to have different transformations, you will need to describe them in your appearance.
HUMAN: Humans are probably the most common races in the DBZ universe, with the most densely populated home planet. The vast majority of Humans are poor fighters, with their average civilian being weaker than that of about any other race. However, a couple possess amazing potential as fighters and are able to match the elites of the other races.
ADVANTAGES: Humans are very technologically advanced and are well known for their high-tech inventions. As far as fighting goes, they have no real strong or weak points!
DISADVANTAGES: None (stated above)
TRANSFORMATIONS:
Chou transformations.
DEMON: Most Demons originate from the depths of Hell, ALL of them being of the Evil alignment. They vary greatly in appearance but most have some form of horns on their heads and sharp claws. These are born with incredible strength and are experts in causing chaos and destruction! Most remain in the underworld, with few in the living realm. If you do choose this as your race, your history should have some good way in which your character got into the living realm, unless you choose to start in the Afterlife!
ADVANTAGES: Generally unaffected by fire-based attacks. Their resilience is second only to the Saiyajin.
DISADVANTAGES: Since they are always evil, Demons are often hunted down on planets, since they are always seen as a threat. They are normally solitary fighters who don't have allies to fall back on when they need help.
TRANSFORMATIONS:
Normally follow Chou transformations, although users can make up their own equivalents if they want. I will check to make sure they are ok.
MAJIN: Majin isn’t really a race as such. It’s more of a lifestyle, as a fighter of any race can become one by allowing themselves to be taken over by evil, usually in the form of a sorcerer. All Majins have a Black “M” on them, generally on their forehead, though it can also be elsewhere. Upon becoming a Majin, the power of a fighter can greatly increase, though if not intelligent enough, a fighter can lose their mind and become the slave of whoever turns them to a Majin. If you choose to create a Majin, under race, put their actual race, then Majin in brackets after it.
ADVANTAGES: Since Majins can be from many other races, they don't have any general advantages. They depend on what race the character is.
DISADVANTAGES: Same goes here!
TRANSFORMATIONS:
They follow whatever transformations the character did before he or she became a Majin.
KONACK: A peaceful race from the planet Konatsu. Almost all are talented swordsmen, as each is given a blade at a very early age. Few actually end up as warriors though, due to the lifestyle on their planet. Konacks living on other planets often keep a low profile and often live among other peaceful races such as Namekians or Elves. Konacks have spiky hair, normally in a Mohican style, while they can come in many heights and builds, though most are short compared to Humans and are of slender builds. For those who don’t know about this race, think Tapion from DBZ Movie 13.
ADVANTAGES: Konacks are one of the most skilled races with swords, their talents tough for anyone else to match.
DISADVANTAGES: Due to their intense training with weapons, Konacks can struggle with hand to hand combat due to their limited training in this area.
TRANSFORMATIONS: Chou
PIKKONIAN: A Namekian-like race in appearance but with no antennae and no pointy ears. Though they are a peaceful race, every Pikkonian is trained to be a fine warrior, with most having incredible builds. Their average height is a good foot or more above that of the average Human. Instead of having ears, they have slits on the sides of their head, allowing for good hearing, though not so good that high pitched sounds would trouble them. Male and female Pikkonians have very little different between them, bar the females having silky hair, while males are bald. All have green skin with medium sized black spots covering parts of their heads.
They originate from a far off galaxy and few are seen on Earth of any other planet in the North Quadrant.
ADVANTAGES: Pikkonians have no real advantages over other races, much like Humans and are extremely balanced as a race.
DISADVANTAGES: As above.
TRANSFORMATIONS: Chou
CHANGELING: The race of the likes of Cooler, Frieza and King Cold, the Changeling race was an extremely strong presence in the universe in the times of DBZ. Since then, the race has spread out more, settling on various planets to form colonies, though many still travel galaxies to conquer and destroy planets. The race has branched off into many other similar races, although the general Changeling race is still by far the most common of them. They still harbour a great hatred for the Saiyan race and most Changelings would waste little time before trying to kill one if they encountered one. They are naturally a very powerful race and have many extremely powerful warriors, while their many transformations can rival those of the Saiyans and those who possess Chou.
In their base form, they are often quite short, with a fairly long, thick tail and black horns that jut out from the sides of their head. Their feet have three toes and are much more capable of gripping objects than the foot of a more Human-like race. They can come in a wide variety of colours. Be sure to stress any colour differences from the images below under your appearance if you choose to go for this race.
Changeling Base Form
ADVANTAGES: The Changelings are one of the few races able to breathe in space, allowing them to destroy a planet they are on while not putting their own life at great risk. Their long tails can be used as a fifth limb, greatly aiding them in combat and can easily wrap around a foe if need be. Unlike other races, Changelings can remain in a transformed state permanently if they chose to, meaning energy isn’t wasted transforming during battle.
DISADVANTAGES: Most Changelings are extremely arrogant and often under estimate foes in battle or provoke them into higher levels of power instead of just finishing them off when they have the chance. Their reputation for taking over planets is known across the universe and other races often are hostile towards them, as their race is seen as a threat.
TRANSFORMATIONS:
Changelings follow the transformations listed below.
Second Form (SSJ Equivalent) @ 20 p.l (The Changeling grows at least two feet in height, with its build increasing greatly, though with no loss in speed. Its horns spike more upwards, while its tail also grows longer and has the ability to extend to great lengths.)
Changeling Second Form
Third Form (SSJ2 Equivalent) @ 24 p.l (The Changeling keeps a similar height if standing up straight, though they often hunch over slightly in this form, making them appear shorter. Long spikes shoot out from the back, with the energy wells on the shoulders sprouting out from the body, instead of hugging it tightly. The energy well on the head extends a good distance backwards, more spikes jutting out from the sides of it. The mouth and nose stick out from the face, making it look almost beak-like.)
Changeling Third Form
Fourth Form (SSJ3 Equivalent) @ 30 p.l. (The Changeling undergoes a massive change in appearance, becoming much more sleek in appearance. It shrinks back until it is closer to the height of its base form, with its head becoming much more spherical. The body turns to a single colour, with only the energy wells being a different colour from this. The spikes and such disappear, leaving the body smooth with nothing spiking outwards.)
Changeling Fourth Form
Changeling Fourth Form V2
Fifth and Final Form (SSJ4 Equivalent) @ 40 p.l. (Another large appearance change. The Changeling grows in height again by several feet, its build also greatly increasing. Spikes sprout out under the energy wells on the lower arms, with spikes also returning to the back of the fighter. The chest becomes covered by an armour-like plating which goes around the fighter, arcs of the thing also going over the shoulders. The head becomes much less round, with four spikes shooting out from the energy well on it, while the face is almost completely covered by a visor-like thing, making the mouth impossible to see. The eyes become simply red lights with no pupil or anything. The tail has a spear-like tip form on the end of it, allowing it to be able to stab, as well as to wrap around victims.)
Changeling Final Form
BUUS: An extremely powerful race created by powerful sorcerers to serve them. Still, the power of this race means they often end up killing their creators in order to gain freedom. The vast majority are extremely evil and enjoy causing destruction, even when not commanded to. They can be convinced other things are more enjoyable, meaning some can end up more pure hearted. They come in many shapes and sizes, as well as colours, but all have rubbery skin that is excellent at absorbing hits. It also allows them to change shape so they can wrap around enemies for example. They can also remove parts of themself to throw at foes and tie them up. All Buus have an appendage on their head that reaches down their back. The length of this varies. Like Changelings, they have holes in their heads that act as ears, while their teeth are usually extremely sharp, with large canines. If you make one and your character hasn't killed the sorcerer who made it, make the sorcerer as an NPC. We current don't allow sorcerers as playable characters.
ADVANTAGES: Their bodies are extremely flexible, allowing them to easily change shape. They can regenerate extremely well and can only be destroyed if nothing remains of them. Buus are also able to absorb other fighters into their bodies and can gain some power (won't be much, as it's a cheap way to gain power!) and techniques known by their victim (again it will be limited).
DISADVANTAGES: Most Buus are far from clever and don't think too well on their own, as they become used to receiving instructions until they kill off their creators. Due to this, other fighters can be able to persuade them to join them or could maipulate them in ways other races couldn't be. They are far from mature as far as their personality goes and can be quite childish. Their creator or any other extremely powerful sorcerer has the ability to lock them up. Due to their extreme regenerative abilities, all Buu characters MUST start with 70 stat points.
TRANSFORMATIONS: Chou
BIO ANDROIDS: A slightly more advanced Android due to the fact they can regenerate and absorb other living beings. These are created by compiling the DNA of other fighters to make a supposed "super android", which has the traits of the races it is made up of. These are both their advantages AND disadvantages in most cases. Appearances will vary greatly, though they all have some form of tail, which is used to absorb other beings. They don't necessarily have to absorb set androids like Cell did, so don't go thinking that is a must do! Due to how rare this race is, your application for one would have to be VERY good to be accepted.
ADVANTAGES: Regenerative abilities similar to Namekians. However, they can regenerate unless every cell of them is destroyed. Other advantages depend on what races they consist of.
DISADVANTAGES: No set disadvantages. These will depend on what they are made up of. Start with 70 stat points.
TRANSFORMATIONS: To be chosen by the creator of the character. You can go for Cell-style ones when some key being is absorbed or for more Chou style ones. You have quite a bit of freedom on this.
You may make the 1/2 races too, like 1/2 saiyan, 1/2 human, etc.
