So, do animals have rights, if what rights do you think they have?
Do some animals have more rights than others (Do domestic animals have more rights than animals that are used in food production?) What about animaltesting? When is it approvable?

What do you think about vegetarians and vegans. Are they just stupid tree-hugging hippies or do they actually have a point? Could you live without meat and possibly without all dairy products, eggs and honey?

My opinion:
I think animals have rights. I mean just because they don't express themselves verbally we can't treat them like trash. Unfortunately some people haven't realized that yet.
Factoryfarming is one of my favourite subjects to complain about. Here's some information: [x]
Basically factoryfarming is just abuse of animals and I think furfarming is just the same. I don't understand why people have to wear fur when we have better materials nowadays. Maybe it's just because they think it somehow boosts their ego.

I'm a vegetarian. I eat vegetables, fruits, dairy products, eggs and honey. Why I'm a veggie? Well, one reason is basically that 40% of the grain produced goes to the hungry mouths of our beefs-to-come. That grain could be used feeding people in developing countries. Also, if you eat right you get more energy than from meat. This is because (as you might have learnt in school) energy decreases as it goes through more items. (comparing eating a plant straight from nature and eating a beef[think how many changes does your beef go through before you get it on your plate]) Food production is not the same as it was in the good old days.

Animaltesting: I think it's wrong. Testing cosmetics on rats, rabbits and monkies is just a living proof of our vanity. Animals don't carry the same genes as we do so what's the point? I'm not saying that we should start testing on humanbeings, but how about using 100% natural cosmetics and not some damn chemicals. I feel a lot more safer when I know what I'm patting on my face every morning.

So, what do you girls think?

I think that people who treat animals like they don't matter is plain stupid. Animals hurt too, they hurt when they are pulled away from their parents and they hurt when you don't pay attention to them or take care of them. Animals have rights to be comfortable and not be treated like an object.

I think that peta and organizations like that can have a point, like how the animals are treated in some farms and such, just for our foods, is wrong, and something needs to be done about that. On the other hand, not all farms are like that, but they make it seem like almost every one is.

Also, as humans we are made to eat meat. It's something our body needs to function and be healty, so why find substitutes and fight natural way so hard? And those posters and such of the cow saying "would you eat me?" looking all cute and stuff piss me off. If we don't eat them, then some other animal out in the wild will. I mean, if anyone watches the discovery channel and see how the lions eat their food, ripping them apart while the animal is still alive, it's part of nature to kill and eat for survival.

I'm totally healthy even though I don't eat meat. After one veggie season I ate meat for a while and noticed that I didn't like the taste and it just didn't feel the same anymore. So I decided to stay veg. My dad doesn't like my choice but there isn't too many things that I do which would please him.
I hate those posters too. Peta and other organisations like that have a point but they over-do it and make complete fools of themselves.
Oh, one funny thing about meateaters :3
My dads friend said that he has made a contract with rabbits. He doesn't eat their vegetables and they don't go cruising in his tractor.

I think it's natural to eat meat. We have to. It's in the food cycle. If too many people stopped eating meat all of sudden, there would be a huge amount of meat animals, and it would cause disturbance. We have to eat other animals to keep the world balanced. What if bats and birds suddenly decided that they wouldn't eat bugs anymore... Just, "Yeah, ******** that, we'll only eat fruits and nuts." What would happen? Think of the large swarms of bugs left uneaten. Think about trying to sit outside at night. It would be like a cicada swarm, but all different types of bugs. No creature should just 'decide' to stop eating what's natural, I believe.

I have met a lot of veggies in my life, and one thing I've noticed about all of them, they're twigs. They're tiny skinny, and have no muscle. That's because they lack protein in their diets. They say all the time that they've felt healthier than ever in their life, but they can't lift anything heavy, or last walking around all day. As healthy as you think you are, you aren't getting protein to build healthy muscle, and you're gonna be a weak little twigling. Veggies must atleast take dietary supplements of protein if you really want to stay healthy.

Sorry if any of that was offensive, but it drives me crazy when humans decide to do unnatural things just because they have more advanced brains than animals. I wish we could just live our lives like them sometimes. No thoughts other than eat, sleep, s**t, run and ********. That would be nice. But just because humans are more intelligent, we decide to do things with it. -_- Like this, sitting here, on a computer, talking to people who I've never seen. It's s**t like that which pisses me off.... I'm gonna get off of the computer now...
