The Annual Dimensions Formal is held every year at a different location each year. It is a grand event where many from other dimensions are invited to join the host in a sort of Coming-of-Age ceremony, where the Guest of Honor that year is is honored as if it were their birthday. Usually the Formal takes place in a time period of three days, and the guests will stay in pre-designated rooms at the owner's home.

Yuuko is not surprised when she receives the three strange invitations to the formal, but she is lightly surprised and amused to find out that this year's guest of honor is her employee Watanuki Kimihiro.

While the Guest of Honor has their own sort of celebration, the real reason for most of the Formals is to honor the new ownership of the 'special' mansions. All locations for the Formal take place in homes built in a dimensional pocket, a place where people from all other dimensions can visit, so it is a big deal with someone comes to own one of these homes.

The Formal itself is taking place in The Starlight Mansion this year. Many people from other dimensions have also been invited, as have some from their own, including three of the men at the Green Drug Pharmacy.

THIS YEAR'S HOST:
Fay Wong Reed

heart Annual Dimensions Formal Guidelines and Code of Conduct heart

heart The Dimension Forums are neutral zones, meaning enemies can, and most likely will attend.
heart There is to be no form of physical violence during the Formals, this includes magic usage.
heart While it is expected that there will sometimes be arguments among those that just clash with one another, it is highly discouraged and frowned upon.
heart Those that attend must respect and obey the host and owner of the Dimensional Mansions.
heart Attendees must not leave their rooms at night, after curfew. Curfew is set by the individual Host.

(Note: These are not actually the rules of the role play. They will not be enforced by the guild admins or mods, but they are meant to be part of the role play, and whoever the host may be will do what he/she sees fit as punishment within the role play.)

heart Setting heart
Description collab between Kunogi and Doumeki

Starlight Mansion, the first mansion built to transcend time and space. It is a place much older than Yuuko's shop, and is in even better repair considering there are many more people working to keep it clean and looking new. It is located in a pocket dimension in which anyone from any dimension can reach; if they are looking for it.

If you could see it upon arrival, it would appear as an old Western-style mansion supported by colossal marble pillars, white and clean as if they were only just made. The white-washed bricks gleaming in whatever light would appear in a pocket dimension not really held to any specific world.

That is not the case of course, because when someone is wanting to reach the mansion, they already find themselves in the main sitting room. A large marble-tiled floor, the ceiling here also supported by a row of pillars. There are portraits of the previous owners located on the walls of this room, and the artist is still unknown for each painting.

The sofas and chairs in the sitting room are made of wood with a soft down cushion on each, and covered in only the finest silks. The tables are made of a strong mahogany wood and some chestnut, but somehow they were polished to all match exquisitely.

From the sitting room, one would move into a long hall. Unlike the previous, Western-styled room, the hall has Shoji screens and doors along one side. The paper doors lead to different dinning areas, all of which can seat up to 15 people comfortably.

If one continues walking down the hall, they reach the main hall. It is a grand site, more than two-times the size of the entrance hall, but in all other aspects its twin, except for the giant staircase that leads up to the next floor. The staircase itself is also made of marble and something that looks like glass. In actuality, it is a substance from a different dimension, and is similar to diamond. This grand hall is also the mansions ballroom, since it is the largest room of the Starlight Mansion, it is the best place to entertain guests.

The current owner of the Starlight Mansion is unknown at the moment, but he or she is of course the host of the Annual Dimensions Formal, and soon everyone will know who it is.

heart Story heart
Written by Shizuka Doumeki-san

Yuuko sat on the porch of her shop, taking a long drag of her pipe. She was waiting for her employer and his so called "rival" to return from a errand she had sent them on earlier that evening. It was nothing hard, they just needed to retrieve an item from a client of her's. The client had gotten a hold of something special that she was sure would be serious matter. Whatever it was though, it would involve the three of them.

It had begun to rain, slowly at first, then soon turning into a roaring downpour. Good thing she had suggested that Watanuki take an umbrella with him earlier, even though he had insisted that the forecast did not call for rain that day. The pair would most likely still be soaked anyway, and she wondered if Watanuki would share the umbrella with Doumeki.

"I DO NOT TAKE ORDERS!" She heard Watanuki yell as the pair walked through the gate and into her yard. Doumeki had never been able to enter the shop until the day that Watanuki fell from a window at their school, and now he came into the shop quite frequently with Watanuki. He did have a wish still, but he had assured her that he did not need her help. She had accepted that, knowing it would be fun just to watch.

"Welcome back," she said with her usual, mysterious smile, and Maru and Moro danced around Doumeki and Watanuki.

Watanuki looked at Yuuko for a moment, before pulling an envelope out of his school-bag and handing it to her. She thanked him and broke the seal, opening as quickly as she could, anxious to see what it was.

She read the message to herself, then looked at the two, grinning once more. Now she read it aloud for them:

"To Ichihara Yuuko,
You are cordially invited to attend the Annual Dimensions Formal. This year our guest of honor will be your employee, Watanuki Kimihiro. Plan to attend this Saturday evening at 6:30. There are three invitations enclosed. One for you, one for Watanuki-san, and another for whomever you wish to invite. This year the event will be taking place at the Starlight Mansion.
"

It didn't tell who would be hosting it this year, but that did not matter to Yuuko. She looked back up at Watanuki and Doumeki and explained a little about the Dimensions Formal, then told Watanuki that the third invitation should go to Doumeki. Watanuki was not pleased.

"Why do I have to go to a Formal with him?" He yelled, pointing at the stoic boy, who instantly covered his ears.

"Why can't I just invite Himawari-chan?"

Of course by this point, no one was listening to him.

Yuuko was again sitting on her porch taking a long drag of her cigarette. It was finally Saturday, and she was waiting for Watanuki and Doumeki to arrive so they could be off to the Dimensional Formal. They would have to travel from her shop of course.

She knew that neither of them would have the proper attire for such an occasion, so she had clothes especially made for them. Both were the same design, a Chinese style shirt and pants made of silk, Watanuki's a deep blue, and Doumeki's a golden yellow. She couldn't wait to have the two boys try them on.

It was raining again, it had been raining for days, and there seemed that there would be no end to the dark storm clouds. Maru and Moro danced around in the rain after dropping their umbrella nearby.
PostPosted: Mon Jul 02, 2007 10:02 am

After Doumeki had finished packing, he said goodbye to his mother as he picked up an umbrella by the door. She was going on about how he should behave and be polite while he was away, and make sure to say thank you and all of that. He gave her a hug and assured her that he would behave and that every thing would be just fine.

He stepped outside, and opened up his umbrella, and began walking towards Watanuki's apartment. Because of the rain, he had dressed comfortably, but he knew that he would most likely still be soaked by the time he reached Yuuko's shop, actually, he probably would be soaked through before he even reached Watanuki's.

He hadn't told the other boy that he was planning on meeting him at his apartment on the way to Yuuko's, and that would probably make Watanuki angry, but he would just have to deal with that if Watanuki didn't want to encounter any spirits on the way to Yuuko's shop.

He reached the apartment building Watanuki was living in, and slowly ascended the stairs to the floor Watanuki was on. He closed the umbrella in front of Watanuki's door, and gave three knocks on the door before waiting for an answer.

Watanuki blinked, as he heard someone knocking on a door. Surely it wasn't his door. No one really visited him, since aside from Himawari, he didn't really have many friends. [Doumeki and Yuuko do not factor into such an equation, as he considers them an annoyance and slave driver, respectively.] He climbed down from the stool he was using to dust around the appartment, since it would need a good cleaning, since he didn't really know how long he would be gone.

He dashed over to the door, peering outside the peep hole. What purpouse did something like that serve? He had no idea how it was supposed to work! All he saw was a black blob sorrounded by white. He sighed and opened the door, regretting immediately he had done so.

"What are you doing here?!" He shouted, grabbing his apron and bandana and tossing them aside. It was bad enough he had to go to this thing with Doumeki, but now he was coming to his home? Was nothing held sacred? There goes my last Doumeki-free zone... He thought to himself as he glared at his companion.

"So?" Why did Doumeki always take so long to answer? He as just so troublesome...

"Sakura-chan!" Kero bounced up and down as the high schooler entered her bedroom. Sakura had grown a lot since Syaoran had returned to Tomoeda. Her seventeenth birthday was coming up in April and she had blossomed into a lovely young woman. Light brown locks still framed a rather slender face with childlike green eyes and innocent facial features.

She blinked as Kero lept at her, holding something that looked like a letter in his mouth. But her father hadn't mentioned any mail coming for her today...how odd. "What is it Kero-chan?" She asked as the small form of the guardian dropped the envelope in her arm before soaring over to her desk.

"That's a very important letter! It came through a trans-dimensional portal!" Kero said exictedly. He had remembered something like this happening only once before, and that was long ago. Sakura set her schoolbag down and looked over at the teddy bear resting on her pillow. "I'm home Syaoran." She said to it, as she had done many times in the past.

Even though Syaoran had returned, she still kept up with this ritual of hers. It was just another expression of her deep love for her boyfriend. She pulled the chair back to her desk and flicked on the light, opening the envelope by breaking a magical seal. "This is interesting." She remarked as the letter opened itself the rest of the way.

To Kinomoto Sakura,
You are cordially invited to attend the Annual Dimensions Formal. Plan to attend this Saturday evening at 6:30. There are three invitations enclosed. One for you, and two for whomever you wish to invite. This year the event will be taking place at the Starlight Mansion.

"What is this?" She looked to Kero, who seemed very excited. The small creature bounced up and down. "Clow went to one of these things a long time ago. It's held in another demension, one a lot like ours." He pawed the envelope, pulling out a card with a magic circle etched on the back. "You need to activate this with your staff to go to the demension. But the magic it would require is somewhat great. Even Clow had a little trouble with it."

Sakura smiled. "Well...if you and Syaoran-kun come with me, I'm sure our combined magic can sustain a trip." She said rather brightly. Kero nodded. Actually, Sakura had more than enough magic to transverse a dimension, but he wanted to make sure she got there safely, and he was sure that Syaoran would as well. He also remembered someone who went with Clow, a strange woman who was wiley and rather cunning. Yue never really liked her, but Kero felt alright around her.

"You should call Syaoran and let him know." Kero said as he flew over to her cell phone, grabbing it from her backpack and bringing it over to her. Along with her age and body, Sakura's magic had also matured. Eventually she would grow to a point where she did not need the staff to concentrate her energies.

Sakura was on the phone the moment Kero handed it to her. Speed dail number two. The phone rang for a few seconds, but Syaoran quickly picked up.

"What is it Sakura?"

"Oh! Syaoran! Well...I've been invited to this inter dimensional ball thing...and I want you to come with me."

Such a thing wasn't new to Syaoran, he was used to strange things popping up. Every now and then Eirol would send something their way to keep them on their toes, be it a mischevious sprite or a water based illusion. He smiled, glad that he would be going with Sakura.

"Sure... What time is it?"

Sakura glanced at the card. "Saturdy at six thirty." She said quickly. "Oh, and we need to use a magic circle to get there...Kero-chan says that it is in another dimension." She couldn't hide the excitement from her voice.

"And your dad is alright with this?" Syaoran asked.

That was something she hadn't thought of. "Well...dad kinda knows about the whole magic thing...and I'm sure he and mom wouldn't mind me going..." Her mother's spirit seemed fond of hanging around, and her dad had been even more energetic since he had begun seeing it. "Toya might get irritated...you know how he is with you. But I should be alright. So will you be here, around five thirty? I don't know how long the spell will last, or if it will take us there directly."

Syaoran sighed. "Sure...see you at five thirty. I love you Sakura."

She smiled. "I love you Syaoran." And with that the conversation ended.

-------------------------------That Saturday--------------------------

Sakura stood out in her backyard, a bag at her side. She wore a new outfit, something Tomoyo had made for her. While her best friend was somewhat upset she couldn't come, Sakura promised to take plenty of pictures. Plus, she didn't want to take Tomoyo away from her company. Syaoran arrived at five thirty on the dot and blushed when he saw Sakura's outfit.

Her dress was black in color, with white accents. It was rather simple and draped over her shoulders. The dress was sleeveles and accented by black gloves that started at the middle of her forearm. Her skirt stopped just above her kneecaps, and from her knees downward, a pair of black boots decended. The lower part of the dress was poofed out thanks to some white fabric underneath.

Sakura flushed. "It was formal. Don't worry, Tomoyo-chan made you an outfit too." She said, looking at Syaoran, who was dressed in his school uniform. Kero floated down and landed on Sakura's shoulder. "Did you bring the cards, just incase?" He asked, as Sakura sighed in response.

"Yes I did...now lets go!" She said brightly as she placed her hands around the key which hung from her neck.

"Key that hides the power of the stars, show your true form before me. I, Sakura, command you under our contract... Release!" A blinding blaze of light overtook the young magician and her friends. She pulled the circle on the card out of her pocket and tossed it into the air.

"Release!" She shouted, hitting it with her wand.

A magical circle appeared on the ground beneath the trio, engulfing them in brilliant light. Sakura felt like they were being swollowed up in a bubble as they transversed dimensions.

They appeared at six on the dot right before the mansion, as a large bubble of liquid energy emerged from the ground and exploded, leaving a very woozy Sakura and company in its wake. The card flopped to the ground, another mark burned onto the other side, one which would take them back to their own world.

Sakura fell to her knees and took a deep breath. "I'm really tired." She muttered as Syaroan helped her to her feet. Kero looked around, then transformed, having stored up his own magical energies for quite some time now. He let Sakura rest on his back while Syaoran grabbed the bags.

The trio walked up to the door and knocked, awaiting an answer.

((OOC: Hey Sakura? Can you use a darker color next time? My vampire eyes have trouble looking at such bright text...lol))

Doumeki stared at the shorted boy for a moment then walked right in, without even being invited.

"Yuuko-san told me I should walk you to her shop today, since there will be a lot of spirits about," he replied. Of course that had been a lie, because Yuuko rarely called him, and she most definitely did not call him that day. His expressionless face would leave Watanuki in the dark, as usual.

He looked around the apartment, "You aren't ready to go yet?" His gaze ended at a picture frame on one side of the room, possibly of picture of the bespectacled boy and his parents when they were still living.

User ImageSuu jolted upright with a gasp, clenching the soft linen sheets with her dainty fingers. Her breathing was a bit ragged beneath her budding chest, but she quickly raised a hand to stifle herself, and slowly leant forward on her bed. Shifting her evergreen eyes left and right, she listened desperately for any more of that static transmission that crept to her in her sleep. She furrowed her brow, concentrating with all her might, sifting through all the sounds she heard: the rustling of the indoor trees, the flapping of mechanical birds, the air currents, her heartbeat... and all the many sounds of the noisy world that was shut out from her, but she could not recapture the cryptic words from just a moment before.

A bluebird whistled an empty song and flew to Suu’s side. The girl of not even sixteen years relaxed and watched it wind its head side to side, and flex its metal wings as it hopped to and fro on her fluffy bed fit for a princess. Brushing a stray white hair, she looked thoughtfully at the bird and spoke gently to it, “Very soon... I will be leaving.”

*

Suu stood upon a checker tiled floor in her home, her cage, in a space apart from the trees and her bed, like a large lobby or entryway. Her black clothes with gold-tint metal trim stood out harshly against the pale ivory and pastel tiles. She outstretched her sleeveless arm, palm up, and an item formed from thin air piece by intricate piece. It was a headset, meant to cover her eyes and ears, and she put it on as such, with new wires and parts spouting out from behind. They pooled and swirled on the floor, plugging into what resembled amplifiers and detection devices like radar.

Her powers as a “four-leaf clover” not only let her hear any sound, as long as it was in the air, but she could also log the properties of the sound wave, like its frequency, with nearly minimal effort. Her strange new machine was going to help her pinpoint the source of the scrambled message that called out her name.

“How could anyone out there know my name?” she wondered. “It’s impossible, for I am alone.”

Suu mentally switched on her headset and companion parts, and got down to business.

Watanuki bristled as Doumeki just walked into the appartment without being invited first. He could have sworn he saw that infamous smirk that always irritated him so, but it could have been his mind playing tricks on him. "Baka!" He shouted as he walked into his living room and grabbed a bag which had his change of clothes in it. He didn't want to chance them getting ruined, so he would change at the mansion...or wherever it was they were going.

He walked back to the door, still scowling at Doumeki. When he saw his compatriot's eyes on his most precious picture, he threw his arms up against it, taking it off of the wall and hiding it behind his back. "GET OUT NOW!" He shouted as he placed the picture on the ground beside him while he crouched down to put his shoes on.

After doing so he rose to his feet again, furious with Doumeki. "You just walk into peoples homes, is that it? Not even being invited? And why do I need you to protect me?! It's not like I'm defenseless!!!" He spouted as he tried to shoo Doumeki out the door.
PostPosted: Tue Jul 03, 2007 8:51 am

Doumeki raised an eyebrow at the other boy, "So you'd rather be chased by spirits then, I see." He walked out the door and into the hallway, knowing Watanuki would be following him anyway, but he was still walking quickly.

Why would he hide a family picture from Doumeki? It's not like it was a secret or anything? That boy was just so stubborn, he thought with a sigh, knowing Watanuki would not be able to see his face right now.

He opened his umbrella, and looked back for Watanuki, trying to see if he already had one, because if he didn't, he had every intention of giving this one to the other boy.

Why does he have to be so annoying? Watanuki thought as he hung the picture up on the wall, his face and eyes softening at the sight of his family. "Bye." He said softly to the picture as he walked outside, closing the door behind him before noticing he forgot his umbrella. He dove into his bag and sighed.

"I cannot beleive I forgot it!" He shouted as he tucked everything neatly back into the bag again. He fumbled with his keys, before looking at his watch. He didn't have enough time to waste, going back into the appartment and scrounging around for his umbrella. He looked at Doumeki, scowling. He would rather walk in the rain than share an umbrella with him, but he would go nuts if he got his suit messed up.

He walked up to Doumeki, staring at the ground. "Hey...Doumeki-san...I kinda...forgot my umbrella." It was hard enough to admit something as stupid as this to Doumeki...hopefully he would get the message, without Watanuki having to actually ask.
PostPosted: Tue Jul 03, 2007 12:13 pm

"Hn," was all he said as he held the umbrella over Watanuki too, his face never showing the smile he wished to display right now. He wasn't really in the mood to be yelled at at the moment, and with one hand on his umbrella and the other on his bag, he wouldn't be able to cover his ears without being soaked by the rain.

So on he walked to Yuuko's shop without a word the entire way.

A loud sigh resonated from Chibiusa's room and echoed down the hall. "Why do I have to go to some Dimensions Formal? Mama and Papa have got me running to every event they can get me to now a day.....I don't want to be come queen yet." She laid her head down upon the desk she was sitting at holding the invitation in one hand.

Diana was sitting on a corner of the desk and had a concerned look on her face. "Small Lady-sama," Diana chimed in. "Remember you have a vacation coming up soon. Go to this and you can just be a normal girl for once." Diana smiled and hoped she could cheer up the queen to be.

"You're right, Diana." Chibiusa'd head purked up. "This last event before I'm free for awhile....what could go wrong? She returned a smile to Diana and patted her on the head.

~+~The Next Day~+~

"Well, I'd better be off Diana. I don't want to be late, now do I?" Chibiusa said sticking out her and winking.

Her elegant satin dress flowed behind her has she walked. Queen Serenity stopped her before she could get out of the palace.

"Now you be careful, dear. We don't want anything happening to the future queen." Queen Serenity said with a mother's care and concern.

"I'll be fine, Mama. If anything happens I'll have my brooch with me." Chibiusa pointed to the golden heart brooch her mother passed down to her when she turned sixteen. It didn't look anything out of the ordinary with her dress. " I really must be going, being late sets a bad example."

She proceded out of the palace where she found Sailor Pluto in the garden.

"Puu-chan, I'm ready to go now." With that Sailor Pluto waved her key staff to reveal the dimensional door. Chibiusa took the golden time key from around her neck and inserted it into the door. There was a 'click' as it unlocked. She put her hand on the knob and turned...

~+~ Day Before ~+~
To Motosuwa Chii,
You are cordially invited to attend the Annual Dimensions Formal. Plan to attend this Saturday evening at 6:30. There are two invitations enclosed. One for you and another for whomever you wish to invite. This year the event will be taking place at the Starlight Mansion.

"Wh..h....at? Chii has gotten mail? Who is this from?" Hideki stared at the invitation with disbelief. "Sure she gets paid and all, but an anonymous invite to some mansion?" He slowly drug his feet upstairs.

He jostled the keys in his hand until he found the right one and inserted it to the door. "Welcome home, Hideki!" Chii said with her smile and big hug. "How was Hideki's day?"

"Uh, just fine Chii," He paused for a moment. "You got an invitation in the mail today."

"Chii has gotten mail?" She looked slightly confused as he handed her the invitation. Chii read it and understood what it ment. "Hideki will go with Chii?"

"I can't Chii, I've been gone from work for too long and I promised I'd be there tomorrow." Chii looked sadly at him as he said this. "Buuut, maybe Sumomo can go with you?" Hideki hoped this would be true.

"Hai! Sumomo can go with Chii-san!" Sumomo said dancing around on the tabletop.

"Poor Chii-san." Kotoko glared at Sumomo.

~+~ The Next Day ~+~

"Chii got a dress from Miss Manager." Chii smiled as she showed off the dress. It was a long white evening gown with purple ribbons and lilacs hanging off the back. She has a purple head band also with a couple of lilacs on each side. ((OOC: Ref pic. *))

Hideki just stood there and looked in awe." Wow, Chii, you look beautiful!"

"Chii!" She nodded and smiled. "Chii doesn't want to be late. So Sumomo and Chii are going to go now."

"Don't forget an umbrella Chii-san!" Sumomo reminded her. "We don't want your pretty dress to get dirty." Chii picked up the large umbrella and headed out the door.

Once Chii opened the umbrella, Sumomo piped in. "Starting navigation program now. Go West for 30 paces." Sumomo pointed and tweeted her whistle as they walked off into the rain.
