So yeah. This is my cliche teenage love story.

I was on the school bus with my best friends Courtney and Shelby. They were talking and joking around, then all of the sudden this boy gets on. A boy with black hair and deep amber eyes. He was a hard-to-get boy, but he was a straight-up player and an act tough kind of guy. Shelby immediately shut up and watched him. It was obvious she liked him.

Moments later, she said, "That's Jake. I've liked him for a few months."

I knew that was the cue for Courtney and I to do some investigation on this guy. So, we did. Turns out, he thought that Shelby was hot. That was enough for me, so I did all I could to get them together.

I sat with Shelby, me on the inside. When Jake got on the bus, I pulled him into the seat and said, "Why don't you sit here?"

He did. He was eating one of my favorite snacks, a bag of Chex mix. I asked him for some and he said, "You have to kiss me first." I was kind of confused as I gawked at him and then averted my gaze to Shelby's destroyed face. She looked hurt.

It went on like this. He'd sit with us even when I was in the middle. Sometimes I would sit on the outside and he would be in the middle. And when he had Chex mix, he wouldn't even wait for me to ask for some. He'd ask for a kiss anyway.

At this point, I grew fed up. I didn't know what was going on until Shelby went out with him for about a day. He was cheating on her though, and broke up with her on their first date.

Later I found out that he was forced to date her. He didn't even like her and I felt bad for both of them. About three days later, Shelby got a new boyfriend named Graham. She said she loved him.

She dated Graham for about two weeks. In those two weeks I grew more and more fond of Jake. He would sit with me every day.

I told Courtney and Shelby that I liked him and Shelby just laughed. Courtney got excited and immediately started planning "our wedding" which I just chuckled nervously at and shrugged off.

That was when Shelby broke up with Graham. The day after she told me that she was in love with him.

I was a little peeved at her, but I was alright. Jake was growing more affectionate towards me, until Shelby started bugging us.

She would say how she didn't like him. I didn't believe her, of course.

Shelby started talking about me behind my back. She would say "Jake would never date her." and things like that.

Jake grew more and more distant from me. He used to talk to me online and on the phone all the time. He'd do anything to be close to me, but lately he was closer to Shelby.

Shelby never talks to him, though. I do all the talking, and I have so much in common with this guy. We both skateboard, we both like kittens, we both like the color red, we live on the same road, stuff like that. We like the same kind of music and the same movies. Shelby is the complete opposite of me, she's the complete opposite of him.

Recently, Shelby has been copying everything I do and everything I say. She is more interested in black nailpolish, skateboarding, rock, and cats. She is more of a clutz, on purpose mind you, like I am. But I don't do anything purposely, its just how I am. It annoys me, but she enjoys it. She does everything for attention.

Especially Jake's attention. He still doesn't talk to her though. He almost kissed her, however. Right in front of my eyes, he tried. Shelby knew it would hurt me, but she didn't stop it. It was Courtney who stopped it. She pushed me and I landed right in front of Jake, who just smiled down at me like nothing happened.

And so now, despite all of the promises Jake told me, my best friend and the guy who I think I may be in love with have been flirting. So as you can imagine I'm a little bit of a wreck, and I'm a little bit of heartbroken with a little salt rubbed in the wound.

It's really just a story of backstabbers. Or a story of teenagers, but really, what is the difference?

omg... >.< how awful! Shelby isn't being very nice to you, even though she's your best friend.

That is so sad...
How were you even able to stay friends with her?
Her loss losing a friend like you.

We've been friends since 2nd grade, me still being "companions" with her was practically instinct.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

HOW SAD?
Regretably so...

There is nothing sad about it.
The eye of the beholder...

It is your failure to act that will lose him.
You have a chance to act, however, the time is unfinished.

HAHAHAHAHA!

You will remain, unless you do not love him.
But will he remain? Does he love you?

In time, friend, in time.

This is the decision you must make.

That was sort of odd.
But okay :p
