So, as we look at different hotels, just a general question to help us find a happy median for room pricing/hotel pricing. The Carlisle rooms were about 70 dollars a night for a room. The places we're looking at right now, rooms are looking to be about the 100 dollar mark. So, what would be your ideal price to pay per night for a hotel room? And please, be serious with this, I would just as much like to pay 50 dollars for a room, but at that price, i'm pretty sure I would also not want to set foot in said room.
Also, one hotel that we are in talks with has VERY nice rooms. LCD tvs, av hookups, not sure on mini fridges. I'm sure they have them, but i'm not sure if they're the a$$holish ones that charge you for moving stuff around/bumping into them.

I honestly like the Carlisle alot. The rooms were good and clean. I will admit that I wish the hotel it self could have been a bit bigger but considering that this was Otaku Omaha's first year I'm not going to b***h at all.
GREAT JOB GUYS!!!
The most I would like to pay for a room would be between 70-100 dollars a night. In all honesty if the Con was going to be at the Carlisle for the next two years I wouldn't b***h one little bit it's a nice hotel and right now I don't think that Otaku Omaha has quite the fan base to move up to a larger one yet.
My biggest suggestion would be to try and keep the con rooms a bit closer together but that might make it feel to small. I don't know. Something that I think wouldn't be a bad idea is if we look into renting out the Civic center/auditorium or one of those other event places or hell buy out a place for the con each year.
If Crossroads mall ever decides to finally go belly up I think that would be a great place to have the con. Plenty of little shops for dealers to set up in and enough big shops/rooms that panels could be held in.
Anyway I think I'm done with my wall of text sorry for the long read but these are my thought's YOU ASKED FOR IT!!!! MAHAHAHAHA!
Sincerely,
Bale

I actually really liked the rooms at the Carlisle (sp?). They were nice, y'know, clean and affordable. The hotel was nice too. The only problem I had was with the drunken clubbers staggering around the halls at night . . . . . but that was it. About the hotel ya'll are talking to . . . I don't think that huge TVs and other such frills are really required. Bale and I never really hung out in our room at all while the con was going on . . . and I feel that paying extra for such things would be a waste of money, if you want my honest opinion. Don't get me wrong, it would be cool and all, but I don't feel that I would get to enjoy it-nor would I want to if I was at a con. $100 dollars is a bit extravagant, if you ask me . . . .

Yeah, personally, I really liked the Carlisle, aside from the club and the gas smell near main programming and the dealer's room on sat night/sun morning. It's got a nice location, nice rates, and it's a nice size for our con so far.
Personally, as long as rooms aren't over 120, and i've got three other reliable roommates, i'm fine with it. I would love to pay less, guess it just depends on where the con is.

This is true. I agree! The hotel was nice even if I didn't rent a room there.
