I had my final exam for school today and found out my calculus mark had just barely met my condition to go to university. I was quite happy, cause I was scared I wouldn't make the cut. So, when my old religion teacher, who is extremely catholic asked me to help move some stuff for her son, I said yes.
It took 2 hours and alot of dangerous and heavy lifting before we were done. I was happy to help, and I gained nothing expect a bit of exercise by doing so. (oh, and a chocolate milk).
Would this be considered something encouraged by satanism? I have no real personal gain out of doing this.
If I had done this for someone athesist/satanist would it be better/worse/the same?
I get this dark feeling that something bad is going to happen to me now that I've done this good deed, especially at a time where I'm seriously considering becoming satanist. Does no good deed go unpunished?

Does no good deed go unpunished? -Hmmm....Well, it doesn't have to be encouraged by Satanism or not for you to do it. It's a choice. I've done similar things, like helping out my mom's church or something of that similarity. Did I get anything special? No, but I was,(like you were), happy to help. -I'm perty sure it'd be about the same. Except they're atheist/Satanist, not catholic or what not. -And I don't know. That sounds very odd, maybe just a gut feeling? I thought good deeds usually didn't go unpaid? I'm a theistic Satanist and I've helped my mom out on occasions, crap, I've even hugged some of her Christian friends(lol I know, real hardcore). But I've never gotten a feeling as though Satan was angry with me.

I don't really understand what you're saying, so I'll just take a shot in the dark... If you were a satanist, you would'nt get "punished" for doing a "good deed". Satanists don't only do things that result in personal gain. If you want to do something, do it. If you don't, don't. I think the only personal gain in that situation would be the gratification of pride for helping someone else when you didn't have to, but if you think about it, thats also called 'Human Nature".

Now that I'm rereading it, it was a little hazy.
I'm not saying I think satan is angry with me (I'm considering becoming a LaVeyan Satanist anyway, so that's not really applicable).
However, Hellfire gave me the answer I was looking for. Basically, my question was, do satanist's feel guility when they do a good deed? For a little while after doing it, I did feel guility, like I was helping the bad guys or something. (I really don't like Christians, especially hardcore ones). I'm over it now though.
I'm glad to hear that Satanists can be good people too. heart

Personal gain is purely emotional. Even if you think you did the wrong thing. You did it cause you thought it was a nice thing to do and thus make you happier about yourself. Go you~

I've done good deeds all my life. It makes me happy and proud of myself. I don't need a reward for something I like doing. It shows that Satanists aren't evil like we are portrayed, but don't tell that to an extreme, conservative Christians, their brains will explode. Now I'm beginning to wonder if that's such a bad thing.
*Sorry for the Christian bashing I couldn't help it.

Does no good deed go unpunished? I do good deeds all the tim,my friend marcause is a penocostole or however you spell it and me and him do favors for eachother all the time, when my dad needs help at his work i help him he was raised penocostole also and my mom was raised catholic and i help her clean house and what not so dont feel weird because i grew up around christianity but never understood it(Mainly because i think alot of it is hibbity-dibbity bullshit)And then turned out how i am now but yet still do good things to prove the sterotypes against satanists wrong,in other words i think you done nothing wrong

If you really wanted to help them out, then I would say that that would benefit you. For Example you gained some things as you have said 1) Exercise, and 2) a chocolate milk (which sounds good XD) 3) the people you helped will be more willing to help you if you need their help, which is a very convenient for those times you either want or need help, and 4) there is a sense of accomplishment for a job well done.
That sounds very beneficial. =D

satanism is all about doing what makes you feel good. so did you feel good doing it? then it is encouraged by satanism [edited by me] besides, good is subjective to your point of view, what with you being a god and all wink dont get hung up over morals (your actions subjective to societal dogma) and do whatever pleases you
