Atae was at Realm today... she wasn't really sure why. At first she'd thought she'd take Ed back his alchemy book and see what he thought of what she'd learned from it, but... Ed wasn't exactly here. He might be back... but she doubted it. Not yet.
So she padded in, looking thoughtful, deciding that either she'd run into Terasu or wait until she found someone to talk to. She just... needed to get away from everyone at the house today, for some reason. She was feeling restless lately and she really didn't know why.
She took a quick look around the room but didn't see anyone (she hadn't learned to look up yet, either, not having been here enough to know people often relaxed in the rafters), so she hopped up on the couch and stretched out, lazily setting her head on her paws and waiting for... something.

And something did come along. A feathery something actually, that was in quite an awkward mood. Padding down the hall with ears flat back, Terasu made his way through HQ. His moods had been up and down as of late, mostly down. Just so much had been going on lately, things he experienced and realized that he didn't want to accept.
Green eyes furrowed and trained on the wooden floor as the young male headed to the front door. His mind was too caught up in things to give a care of his surroundings.

Atae spotted Terasu and started to say something but then noticed his rathered distracted body language. Curious, she got up and padded with well practiced silence after him. Eventually though, she realized she was going to have to speak if she wanted to find out what was going on, so she tugged gently at the tip of his non-feathered tail. "No hello?"

Left, right, left right. Terasu had found his moving feet to be a much needed distraction from his thoughts. Along with the occasional wisp of gray hair swaying in his view. Where to go now? Eyes widened as he felt an unnatural tug on his tail, and he gasped. His tails tucked on instincts, and his hind legs lowered, almost giving out on him. He gave a skittish glance to the one behind him and was surprised to see the belted female. "Atae??" Ears slinked down as well as his eyes at her question. "Err, sorry."

She tilted her head at him. "Thinking about the other day?" She held her paw up and flexed her wrist. "All better!"
She knew that her injury wasn't was bothering him, though. She didn't really know what was going on, but... he was like a brother to her and she just... couldn't leave him in this state of mind. He needed to air it out at least. So... she leaned over and hugged him. "What's goin' on? You can tell me, you know..."

Eyes peeked at the wrist, remembering the actions of that day. He gave a single nod and pulled his traditional smile. "I'm glad your better. Sorry..." That was still something he couldn't bring himself to forgive.
Green eyes widened as she leaned closer, and he most nearly stepped back. Instead, he froze as she embraced him in a friendly hug. A hug? He couldn't even remember the last time he had a hug. At least a decent one. Monotone ears pinned back and he timidly blinked. "N..nothing is wrong. Why would you ask such things?"

Atae dropped back to all fours and looked at Terasu for a long moment. She didn't want to lie to her brother... sigh. "Because... even if I wasn't an empath the way you were walking around spaced out like that with that frown on your face has "I've got something on my mind" written all over it..."
She flopped on her side and pawed at him, partly in play, partly in agitation, though the agitation wasn't directed at him. "You're like my brother, Terasu... I want to help if you'll let me."

Eyes peered back at the brown kitsu as she seemed to silently analyze him. And all he could do was sit there, not knowing what to try and hide. One ear rose and the other fell as he blinked at Atae. "I...was frowning?" Nevermind the rest of her detailed and accurate sentence. He was so zoned that he didn't know what expressions he even held.
He tilted his head as she flopped and batted at him, raising a brow at the play. For one who was always playful, his heart just wasn't in it lately. "Brother?" He supposed they did have a friendship similiar to the bond of siblings. Since when did they even see their own kin siblings? "Heh, seems like those endearing titles are pointless anymore..."

"Yeah... frowning. Like this." She imitated the face he'd been making. Once again, as she had some weeks ago with Ed's "fish face", she did an unnervingly good job of it.
Well if she'd actually harbored any doubts about the fact that he was feeling out of sorts, his lack of reaction to her pawing would have thrown it out the window of a 40 story building. "Maybe the titles don't have much meaning... but believe me, the sentiment does. Now tell me what happened." Her tone was gentle but her expression brooked no argument. She might still be shy around strangers... but lately she'd found that she'd lost any fear of friends and family she might once have had. And beyond that... this was too important for her to just back down. She could feel it in her gut.

Terasu couldn't help but chuckle at her funny face. Had he really looked so mopey? He wasn't used to such an expression.
Eyes flickered between Atae and the empty hall, considering her words. If the sentiment was so strong....then why didn't he feel anything? He sweatdropped at Atae's abnormal tone of demand. Well pfft, she was already acting like the older of siblings. o_o
He peeked away, not finding it within himself to make eye contact. At least he didn't worry of her prying with her empath abilities; he trusted her not to. "Atae, am I.....bad?" He asked hesitantly, not knowing if he should have even bothered. And fearful of the responce.

She wasn't sure what had prompted the odd question... but she had a sudden niggling feeling that it had to do with why he was acting funny when she came to after crawling behind the tree... and why Charity didn't seem to be around at that point.
"I got mad the other day... I don't think I've ever been mad before. Enraged, even. When I screamed at her. And after the point when I screamed at her, I wanted to hurt her... and I enjoyed it. If you hadn't gotten her attention again, and mine... I don't know if I would have remembered you were there until I got it out of my system." It had been bothering her for a while... keeping her up nights more than even worrying about Terasu and Ed given what had been happening lately. Little did she know that Terasu was experiencing much the same thing, just on a larger scale.
"Everyone is born with the potential to be good or bad... I guess at times we've all been both. But in a case of wondering if you're a bad person?... No, you're not. The biggest difference comes from who you want to be. Envy for instance... doesn't care about what he does or how it effects other people. He'd as soon kill someone as look at them if he was bored with toying with them, simply for his own amusement, and I know he doesn't think twice about it, much less have any remorse. ...Whatever you did, just by the way you're acting now you've proven you're not like that. Am I?"
((Crap. I hate this computer at work. It's old and does weird things when I try to fix typos. *tries to put her post back together*))

Eyes flickered nervously as Terasu remembered Atae's display of anger. He didn't know what to think of it at the time, having never seen her so upset. He was stunned to learn that she had even enjoyed such emotions that controlled her then. Conflict showed on his face as he peered blankly at his shoulder. "A joy, huh?"
For him, the encounter of that day seemed like a mute and disorganized movie. Flashs here and there, but nothing enough to follow on. But lately, with enough time away from others, he had been trying so hard to recollect his thoughts. Only to be disturbed by them. "I think I had blanked out, not recognizing anything when I..." He paled lightly and refused to finish. Is that why his mother warned him so?
Brows furrowed as Terasu shook his head. Atae's explanation seemed realistic, but....too simple in words. Woiuld it be so easy to decide in actions? Eyes peeked at the femme. "I...can see what you're saying." But. What if it was not a matter of what you wanted to be, but ended up as? Ears pinned against his feathers as he tried to stay calm. "Envy isn't what I fear to become." Atae's question shocked him so that he finally looked fully at her. "You? Of course not." His voice held a pause, wondering if he was responding correctly, or if she had meant something else. Atae was someone he'd never think twice about being bad.

Atae waited for Terasu to finish. "So... we're not bad then?" She paused for a long moment. "I had me worried." It was hard to tell if she'd added that statement in play or not.
She looked at him shrewdly. "So what did you do to her, Terasu?" It was becoming obvious even without any sort of ESP that he'd done something and it was eating away at him.

Terasu shook his head, confirming Atae's question. Or at least what he'd like to believe to be the answer. Besides, what did Atae have to worry over? Was that single moment that disturbing to her? Maybe, especially if it had been her first experience with rage. Like it had been for himself.
A careful glance was given before he turned away with a tense jaw. Why must she ask that? It was Terasu's own fault for being so stupid then. "...don't you already know?"

"I was unconscious for that part." She watched him for a moment and sighed. "All right, fine, you don't have to tell me." She butted his shoulder. "But I'm gonna worry about you all the same." She somehow managed to stick her tongue out playfully and grimace at the same time.
