Is it actually based on the epic?

professorB Is it actually based on the epic? Parts of the album are based on the epic, some songs aren't.

It's not that bloody great. I grabbed it a few weeks back, by legally questionable means.

Static Jackal It's not that bloody great. I grabbed it a few weeks back, by legally questionable means. Do you like music? At all? Heh, sorry. But really, what don't you like about it?

It's just not as mindblowing as you're making it out to be, that's all.

Shouldn't be able to. As a symphonic/progressive group, they should always be finding new sounds. So being able to compare it would serve only to prove that they're not experimenting, or rather...progressing.

Paradise Lost definitely is a good album, but I'm starting to be a little disapointed on the direction the band is heading. I still think their album V is the best one, and that is mostly due to the awesome choir-parts and epic themes and such.
After V they've been cutting on both the factors I really liked. I have to say though, Paradise Lost is still their best album, in my opinion, since V.
I got Sonata Arctica's Unia just a while ago as well, and it is beating Paradise Lost on listening-count. wink

Soviet Mudkipz can you compare it to another one of their albums? Has more of the Heavy type stuff that we got a taste of from The Odyssey, yet still retains that beautiful Symphony X orchestral style that we all know and love. I'm surprised at the reaction here. The album is amazing, and it seems like everyone else here is kinda ho-hum about it.... No accounting for tastes I suppose...
