Bryna was almost ready to give up looking. Ed had been gone for days now and nobody'd heard from him. At least if they had they certainly hadn't told her.
Still; Bryna went back to the last place she'd seen him, which was the room he stayed at in Realm HQ. She slowly floated down to sit on the floor in front of the bookcase, staring up at the books and trying to pick through the confused jumble in her head. She'd been feeling since she realized Ed had disappeared... some hard knot of uncomfortable sensation in her gut that felt like it was gnawing at her insides. Atae called it worry.
She didn't like it, even if it was one of those elusive "feelings" she usually looked forward to. It make her stomach upset.

Not long after she entered the room, Edward slowly padded in as well. Naturally.. it didn't take long to notice her and he stopped in the doorway, surprised to see Bryna there. Ears flattened back as his thoughts took a downward spiral... what with her relationship to Endless and all.
"What are you doing here?" he asked softly, before padding into the room and moving over to a table. It was then that he removed the communicator that Lilianna had given him, from his pocket and placed it there. He wouldn't be needing that.

Bryna started when Ed asked his question. She hadn't been paying attention so she hadn't realized he'd walked in. She just looked at him for a moment and then suddenly zipped over to the table and straight into him. After knocking both of them to the floor she hugged him around the neck. "I missed you Nii-chan..."
Just as quickly as it happened it was over and Bryna paced around him as if to inspect him for damage and spotted the wound on his face. Her brow furrowed and her golden eyes flashed dangerously. Whoever did that to her Nii-chan was going to pay. "What happened to Nii-chan?"

Eyes widened and his body tensed as Bryna raced at him and knocked him to the floor in an overly affectionate hug. "GAH!" he exclaimed in a stunned manner, although it only took him a couple seconds to recover. His features softening a bit when she said she'd missed him. His paws coming around her in a light hug.
When she got up, he did as well... flicking an ear at her observation and question. Oh right... the marks on his face. Nevermind that they were still quite tender, he still somehow managed to forget about them. "Its nothing... Nii-chan just got into a little bit of a fight, that's all."

Bryna's tails flicked haphazardly behind her, and the expression on her face said she was about ready to get in a little bit of a fight with whoever hurt Ed. "If I find who did that I'm dropping rocks on them." >|
Another lighting fast change in mood and Bryna's ears drooped, eyes getting wide and slightly pleading. "Nii-chan didn't get hurt too bad... did you?"

Edward stared at her.. not realizing that she could be so... well.. violent. XD But then.. so could he, if given the proper incentive. All that staring was what caused him to realize that Bryna had grown. She's nearly as big as him now! ... He mentally grumbled about his own height and growth issues.
He laughed lightly, lifting a paw to pat her on the head. "Naw... I'm alright." He surely didn't want her going after Envy or Charity. She could end up getting hurt, and that was something he didn't want.

Her tails finally settled down and her ears lifted most of the way to normal, though her eyes still looked pleading. "Promise, Nii-chan?"
She was quiet for a moment before she finally opened her mouth to speak again. "Where did Nii-chan go? I looked but I couldn't find you..." And she had been looking zelously. The bags under her eyes were proof enough of that little detail.

A sad smile crossed Ed's maw... and he nodded slowly, "Promise." His voice barely above a whisper.
Sitting himself down, an ear flicked back at her next question and he heaved a sigh. "Nii-chan just needed some time alone for awhile." He hadn't meant to worry anyone, as he apparently did with Bryna... but there were some times in one's life where they just needed to get away and gather their thoughts. His time along in the woods hadn't done it for him.. but maybe going off with Setsumi and Ronan would.

Bryna wanted to sympathize with Ed. Really she did. But even the emotions she did feel from time to time puzzled her, and in most cases they were fleeting enough that she didn't have time to spend piecing things together. She just... didn't understand.
There was something she did understand though... she hadn't really meant to but she'd plucked the information out of Ed's thoughts. "You're... leaving?"
The worry had just gone away and she'd been glad to be rid of it, but now there was this horribly empty spot that showed up right where the worry had been. A tear rolled down her cheek and she brushed it away, startled, before staring at the damp spot on the back of her paw in obvious puzzlement. She held out the paw to him so he could see, voicing her confusion and not realizing how very odd it would sound to her friend. "Does that mean I'm sad?"

Ears pressed back even more. How did she know about that? Or was he just read like an open book?
"For awhile..." he admitted, "Setsumi asked me to go traveling with her." It was time away that he needed, and he'd been wanting to travel for some time now.
He looked at her in time to see the tear fall.. and then the paw outstretched toward him. He looked at her paw, before lifting his gaze to Bryna's face. Sadness returning to his eyes once more, "Yeah..." was the only reply he could some up with.

The third and probably most oddball thing about Bryna thus far in the conversation happened then. She looked pleased. "Yay! I know what sad feels like!" She darted over and gave him another hug. "Thanks Nii-chan!" Wth moment anyone?
She could deal with sad, especially since Nii-chan gave it to her. Strange, perhaps, that she would cherish such an emotion, but any feeling at all was important to the young Nobody... doubly so when it involved Ed or Nahanni.
"But... just for a while? You'll come back?" She looked at him soulfully - she could do that, it was the heart bit she was having trouble with, not the soul - ears pricking up slightly to hear his answer. She had yet to let go of him this time. "Will you send me those notes with the pictures on the back?" She perked up at the idea of postcards.
Bryna was quite the logical little girl, but she also made no sense at all sometimes.

There was a clear 'WTF' expression on Ed's face at her joyful thanks and hug. He just froze, wide eyed and confused when she hugged him. She didn't know what it felt like to be sad? How.. very strange... and then to be happy about it.
"Yeah... I'll come back" he assured her. He didn't know -when- really.. but he would come back. Her request caused him to give a tilt of his head as she continued to hang onto him. "Sure.. if I can." He wouldn't know where to find postcards... or a place to mail them.. but he would keep an eye out.

Fourth and perhaps final oddball thing for Bryna for this conversation. "Oh! I wanted to tell you! I looked in Kitsyn's head," eavesdropper, anyone? "Aaaaand she found your mom in the where-ever it is your brother's at." BIG GRIN. "And I know it's real 'cause I saw through wherever Kitsyn's mind goes when she looks." Cutting off a question before Ed even has a chance to ask? Lawlz.
She finally let go of him and bounced back a few steps. "Well maybe Nii-chan can write letters so I can read about what happens on your trip if you can't find picture-notes?" Her tails wagged. She was going to miss Ed... but she could look forward to hearing about his trip when he got back if nothing else, right? And maybe she'd have stories for him too.

Edward didn't know what to say to that... he opened his mouth but was cut off by more of Bryna's rambling, thus he stayed silent. She saw his mom? But.. his mother is dead... but that's just it isn't it? Those that died in other worlds, somehow ended up here... but surely if he was here... his mother would already be here as well? It just didn't make sense, and it boggled Ed's mind. He had assumed she didn't exist in this world since he'd never seen her.
The teen let out a sigh, pushing those thoughts aside for the moment. His mother was dead unless proven otherwise. The thought of seeing something akin to Sloth, also did not appeal to him.
"Sure" he replied distractedly to Bryna's question.

"Kitsyn wondered about that too. But she's waiting for someone that went before she did too and he's not here yet either, so I guess sometimes they have to wait until someone's already here that they can follow." BLATANT THOUGHT READING. Not that she thought twice about it, she didn't know any better. She hadn't really been following anyone else's thoughts quite so specifically before. "And it's not the meany one. Kitsyn double checked that." She made a face at him.
"So what do I do while you're gone, Nii-chan?" Her most favorite thing to do had been to visit him once in a while, so... she was rather at a loss.
