Here, under a dome of white marble, dragons come from all over to display their skills, test their mettle, and become champions of strength. Does your dragon have what it takes to be victorious?

In the Colloseum, players can pit their dragons against each other in a crossbreed of D&D and Pokemon-style battle. Winners receive experience points to up heir dragon's stats, and sometimes tournies may be held here in the Colosseum for fabulous prizes!

The Battle System
Some lingo and notation you should get to know: d#: dice with # sides attack roll: determines whether or not your dragon's attack is effective or not damage roll : determines how much damage is dealt to the opponent strength class & armor class: look up your class here
- - - - -
Before the Battle
Once a challenge is made and agreed to by both battling parties, player one makes a post in this forum titled "[Player One's Dragon] x [Player Two's Dragon]".
The first post will contain a brief description of the setting in roleplay-format.
The second post will feature the stats of the two dragons, and the items they have equipped that effect battle, labeled appropriately (you may only use a maximum of three items in a battle). Also, if your battle features any special conditions such as all physical attacks, all spells, etc., mention it in this second post. Make sure your opponent approves of these conditions before posting a battle.
The battle then commences.
- - - - -
During the Battle
The dragon with the higher agility will strike first. In all the folowing posts, keep your dragon's endurance listed at the top of the post.
Play begins with player one's attack roll on a d20. You decide whether or not the attack will be physical or magical (it is required that you mention this somewhere in your post). Multiply your strength class in physical or magic by 5. Add that to your attack roll. If the sum is greater than your opponent's physical or magical defense, then the attack if effective.
Choose an attack to use. A roster of physical and magical attacks can be found in the following posts. Depending on the attack, you will then roll either a d4, d6, or d8 -- this is your damage roll, and it will determine how much damage the opponent is dealt. Multiply this roll by your dragon's strength class, and subtract this number from your opponent's endurance.
The players alternate turns until one of the wyrm reaches 0 endurance.
About Roleplaying: While battling, it is highly encouraged that you roleplay what happens to your dragon as they fight. For example, if a body slam effectively hits your dragon, describe how they fall to the ground, dizzy, and if they recover or not. Keep in mind, regular roleplaying rules such as no-powerplaying or godmoding apply in the Colosseum as well.
Though this forum is called the Colosseum, you may hold battles wherever you like. The setting may effect how the dragons react.

After the Battle
The winning dragon will receive experience points equal to their opponent's level x 20.
The losing dragon will receive experience points equal to their opponent's level x 10.
When the battle is over, whoever began the battle thread must edit the title of the thread to say "[Dragon 1] x [Dragon 2] (Edit Stats Plz) "

Special Rules
If one rolls an attack die equal to the opponent's defense, the attack is still not effective. The attack roll must be GREATER than the defense to be effective.
If two dragons of opposite element cast spells at one another, the damage from these spells are halved. If it is an odd number of damage, round up.
Hybrid dragons may cast spells from all of their elements, but the damage dealt from these spells are halved. If it is an odd number of damage, round up. Disregard the opposing element rule, in the case of hybrids.
