For beginning battlers who have read the rules and system but are still a little confused about how all this works, here's an example battle between two dragons to help you out.
This battle will feature running commentary by me. You can identify my comments by the red font in any of the posts.

The battle begins. There is a water dragon in her territory and thus Mith being a fire dragon is angry. Mithrana roars and attacks with her Horns.
Here Ice has roleplayed Mithrana's attack, yay! Unfortunately, her attack roll is a measly 4. Mith is in physical strength class 1, 1 x 5 = 5. Adding 5 to her rollof 4, Mith has a 9 attack. However, the attack number needs to be GREATER thatn Zale's physical defense of 9. Since they are equal, the attack is ineffective. It is now Zale's turn to attack.

Zale is pissed that this Fire dare to attack him, moving out of the way from her attack, he quickly moves in to strike her back.
Zale has a physical strength of 20, barely making him class two. His strength class x 5 is 10. Adding ten to his roll of 15 makes 25. This is much higher than Mith's defense of 4, so the attack is effective. Kuu moves on to choose an attack, and roll the appropriate die.

His attack was a body slam, landing hard on the fire wyrm.
Zale has dealt 1 damage to Mithrana, and multiplied by his strength class of two, her endurance reads 12/ 14.

Mith was furious she missed but even angier when he slammed his massive body against her side. How dare he! Mithrana tumbled to the ground but got up quickly shaking her head. The fire on her back burned brightly as she recoiled to attack again.
Mith has rolled a good 18, her strength class of one x 5 = 5, making that 23. This sum is greater than Zale's defense of 9, so Mith is sucessful, and folows up with a damage roll.

Mith rolls a 3. Multiplied by her strength class one, she deals 3 damage to Zale.

Snarling in slight pain from her attack, he stands up and rushes towards her.
Zale rolls an 8. His strength class of two: 2 x 5 = 10, so he adds 10 to his roll. Mith's armor class of 1, and finds his attack roll of 18 to be successful over Mithrana's defense of 4. He continues on to choose an attack.

His whole body coiled around her, squeezing ever so tightly.
Zale rolled a 2, times his strength class of two makes 4. So Zale deals 4 damage, making Mith at 8 / 14, now.

Mithrana hissed angrily as the water wyrm began to coil around her trying to squeeze the air out of her. Mithrana snarled as she felt a pain in her ribs as they began to crack. Being stubborn she retaliated.
20 + (strength class one x 5) = 25. 25 > Zale's physical defense of 9. The attack succeeds.

Mithrana loosened her claws and began wildly scatching where ever she could to loosen the water wyrms grip on her body.
2 x strength class one = 2. 2 damage is dealt to Zale, bringing him down to 13/18.

He flinched slightly at her clawed contact but licked his lips. That was nothing compared to Ylva's attacks. He extended his own claws.

He quickly clawed back at Mithrana.
4 x strength class 2 = 8. That makes Mith's HP 0/14, and Zale has won the fight!

In a regular battle, the two participans would each type up an RP response to the outcome of the battle when one of the dragons has reached 0 HP.
Since Zale won the fight, he receives 20 experience points that go toward his level (Mith's level x 20). Mith receives 10 experience points for losing (Zale's level x 10).
