Plot: The story centers on an artist, Om (Shahrukh Khan), who grows up in the seventies, meets the love of his life (Deepika Padukone) and shortly thereafter suffers an untimely demise. He is immediately reincarnated and the story flash-forwards to the present day. Haunted by the memories of his past life and love, he attempts to not only solve the mystery of his death, but also reunite with the love of his past life. The problem is that she is now much older than him and does not believe that he is the reincarnation of the man she once loved.

Seergirl I heard Sharukh worked out for this movie, and was trying to get a six pack or something. Oh my goodness. He's trying to copy Hrithik's look. Check out the vid. "Dar De Disco" on youtube (tis on my page now but prob not for long) it's really shocking! then go to like a main hoon na vid and compare. I like him being charming and HIS AGE AHEM. Not a Hrithik wannabe.

Noooooooo! Hrithik won't be in the movie anymore. My heart is broken in two.
I remember hearing about his knee injury (and his fainting incident, too) and I clearly, very clearly... freaked out. Oh, Hrithik, what he does to make films wonderful. He drives himself to exhaustion. xd

http://indiafm.com/news/2007/10/09/10219/index.htmlArjun Rampal (who, after I See You, will still be producing movies! yay, go Arjun!) will have a negative role in Om Shanti Om! :O This is news to me--I had no idea! I don't think I've seen him in anything but a lover-type role! hmm!

Just saw Om Shanti Om...
Amazing. smile
Absolutely spectacular. I want to see more of Farah Khan's films. She always does so well with them!
I don't need to say that Shahrukh Khan is still the king of the world (teehee!), but was Arjun good. I have not seen Arjun in a bad role, and I don't even know if he's done one before (I've only seen a few of his films up till now D: ). He was so good at being bad! I liked watching him, him in his fancy cigarettes!
Deepika Padukone is so gorgeous. I'm so jealous! I mean, think about it. Not only is she pretty, she gets to star in a movie with SRK! I'd faint over him, too... wink She did fantastic at the end, too! She just rocked it, and I felt myself crying.
Now, about the songs. I didn't care for Dhoom Taana before, but it's happened to me that when I saw a film in theatres, I fell head over heels for some songs (like Ticket to Hollywood and Kiss of Love from JBJ--and in turn, I hated Bol Na Halke Halke!). I felt ripped off with Ajab Si. I love that song, so, so so so much (that I messed up my puncutation), but they I think they split the song into two portions, so I was... feeling ripped off. Beautiful song, of course. smile
Deewangi Deewangi: OHmYGODJKSFJ:K. I was freaking out during the song, LOL. Zayed Khan is just so amazing that I was freaking out in my chair!!! XD Dharmendra, too, of course! Although I am wondering why they had Preity with Sunny Deol during that song. I was just kinda like, um... but that's okay. Kajol was AMAZING. She had short hair! My mouth was wide open. She was gorgeous, of course. Looking forward to see her in that new movie with her hubby... Rekha looked... awkward? I don't know how to describe it. Maybe she's wishing she was younger. Maybe that's how she always is in her movies. I'm not sure, I've only seen her in Silsila, Koi... Mil Gaya, and Krrish.
About Dard-E-Disco... um, SRK WAS FINE. I pretty much squeed the entire time. I couldn't help it. It was NICE to see, but now that I'm at home, I'm wondering... was it just to be there to get more people to see it more? Hmm. I know I read somewhere that SRK being shirtless in this film because he couldn't be shirtless in Main Hoon Na for Farah Khan, so he said he'd do it for OSO. Still, I hope he doesn't turn into Salman Khan (who was good in Deewangix2, along with SAIFALIKHANEEEEEEEE!).
I'll get off the songs for just a little bit. The plot was AMAZING. And the ending? Fabulous, too. I can't seem to get over it. I don't want to reveal too much, but I really think it was a great ending. But I was a little surprised because I expected it to be full of romance, start to finish, but it took a different turn. It was different from SRK's usual films. And I would love to go back to the theatre again and watch it again.
Small things: Akshay Kumar and Abhishek Bachchan had me DYING. Oh, they were both HILAROUS. They did such a good job making fun of them... and SRK's other roles, ahaha... it's good to know they have a sense of humor. biggrin
Small things 2: The theatre was pretty darn full. I felt out of place, but when you are watching Shahrukh Khan on screen, who cares? smile I had such a great time. When I came to the theatre, I saw a line for OSO at the 4:05 show--you know, so they would be prepared for a big crowd. I thought it would be a little silly, but they were SMART. It was a long line when I walked out of the theatre. And made me happy that I wasn't in line for the 4:05 show!!
Small things 3: Stuff during credits: very amusing. Teehee, poor Farah Khan! wink
My only compliant about the film is that when the "INTERVAL" thing came up and then immediately went to the second half,... it was awkward. I mean, I think in India, they always have something in between, but at this theatre, they don't. Farah Khan can't do anything about that and I understand, but still. I wish they had given me a break to get myself together. I had to stop those emotions and immediately change them to fit another scene.
I really think that Om Shanti Om is a movie you can see again and again. There are few films that I can watch again and again without being bored (DDLJ, of course, is one of them!!), and I completely see Om Shanti Om being one of them. I'd love to go next weekend if I had time, but alas... I don't.
I had plans to see Saawariya yesterday, but they fell through when I saw the bad reviews from rediff & indiafm. I don't know how good Saawariya will be (my tentative plans are to see it next weekend), but I'm darn glad I watched OSO this weekend. Definitely worth it.
