So Many People Today, Say Virginity Is Not A Big Deal. Just Get It Over With. Because That's What Everyone Else Is Doing. The Age Of People Losing Their Virginity Is Younger And Younger With Each Year [12 In Some Countries]. I See Young People Ruining Their Lives, Getting Pregnant Or STD's Because To Them, It's No Big Deal. What Is Your View? Is It Something Special, Or Is It No Big Deal?
My Opinion On This Subject Is Virginity Is What You Make Of It. It Can Either Be Something You Wish To Keep For A Long Time [Forever Maybe, But That's No Fun, I'm Kidding!]. I Think It's A Person's Own Choice When They Believe They Are Ready. But I Also Believe A 12 Or 13 Year Old Aren't Mentally [And IN Some Cases Physically] Ready For Sex.
Your Turn.

Personally, I find 12 or 13 much, much too young for sexual relations with ANY person. Even at 18, I'd still say it's iffy. But I agree it's also a personal choice as well. I feel that I would want to feel really, really in love with someone before I even had that thought. Most of my friends would agree, but so many girls in my school think having sex is a trend, and if your a virgin going into college, obviously your a nerd or geek. I always have prefered being a geek ^^ But seriously, I'd wait a while and find someone I truly love before diving into sex head-first and thinking it's no big deal. Alot of people don't realize, virginity is not something you can get back. You can't walk up to somebody and go, "Look, could I have my virginity back please?" So going into a bar and taking somebody home that night wouldn't be something I would think of doing. At all. Alot of people say I'm too old-fashioned as well, but that's just how I've always felt about the matter.

All I Have To Say Is You Have Much Respect From Me, And For The Geeks! I'm A Total Game/Computer Nerd Myself ;]. I Don't Think I Could Agree With You More On Anything Than What You Just Said.

I believe that 12 or 13 is way too young, but it's their choice. If they want to ruin their lives that fast, it's up to them. I'm surrounded by friends who got pregnant in their senior year of high school, and two of them were left by the dead beat dads. I think that the younger you are, the bigger the chances are of having a dead beat dad. But, like I said, it's their choice and their body. If they want to give a part of them away, then who's to stop them?

[Neon] .A C I D. I believe that 12 or 13 is way too young, but it's their choice. If they want to ruin their lives that fast, it's up to them. If they want to give a part of them away, then who's to stop them? At the same time, if someone does get pregant, think about the baby. How would someone provide for the baby at that age? Where would the mother and child live, if the parents of the girl are ashamed of her and tell her to get lost? I think people need to be ready and think of the "what-if's" before having sex, because lots of times it'll effect more than two people. But I agree with both DigitalPoison and [Neon] .A C I D., espeacially about the dead beat dad part. In the end, it's their choice. But also their consequences. (I have to say though, I know some people who got pregant in their senior year and acted at times more maturally than someone out of college, so it depends on the person as well). I guess, alot of it depends on the people and such. Some react maturally, some freak out like it's the end of the world if they get pregant.

I agree with you Xiao. It does depend on the person. There is something else that really gets to me. Young girls have sex, get pregnant and then have abortions. If you're not going to care for a child, then don't have sex, or protect yourself, even if it doesn't always work.

Both Of You Bring Up Amazingly Good Points. I Don't Know If Eitehr Of You Have Seen The Episode Of Oprah, About The Woman Who Stabbed Her Baby. Well When She Was 15 Years Old She Got Pregnant With Her Boyfriend Of 6 Months. She Hid It Very Well, And Her Boyfriend Used To Step On Her Stomach To Push It Down So It Didn't Show [ Sick I Know ]. So One Day She Was Having Bad Bad Cramps So She Went To The Bathroom, And The Baby Fell Out IN The Toilet. It WAS Alive I Believe [Though She Argues It Wasn't] So She Picked It Up And Went Into Her Room. She Cut Off It's Umbilical Cord, And Tied It With Her Hair Barret. So She Heard Her Mom Calling Her For Supper, So She LEFT The Baby And Went And Ate. Came Back After, And Stabbed The Baby In The Chest. Then She Put Him In A Duffel Bag And Stuck It At The Back Of Her Closet. Later She Showed Her Boyfriend, So He Filled The duffel Bag With Rocks, And Threw It In A River. Well About 5 Years Later I Believe They Found The Duffel Bag And The Baby. His Head Had Been Crushed By The Rocks. They Eventually Found Out Who It Was, And She Is IN Prison Now For 6 Years [Which I Find Not Enough]. That's An Example Of Something That CAN Happen If Someone Is So Unprepared. It's Sad.

Virginity: the biggest crock of s**t ever thought up.
Why do people make such a huge deal about the first time? I agree that kids should not attempt to lose their virginity until they are roughly 18 or so at the earliest and they should always be prepared for what may happen if the girl does get pregnant (if it is heterosexual intercourse)...but then again teens do have sex. And honestly I find the "first time" stuff to be bullshit.
To guys virginity is something that 'must be lost' and to girls it is something 'to be treasured'. It all burns down to basic animal desires. The male feels the need to reproduce, and the female feels the need to find the perfect mate. We can overcome these damn animal desires, but most chose not to. I've seen so many guys crazed over the need to have sex, and so many girls who hold their virginity as almost sacred...until the moment they lose it to some guy who argued them into it...

It's Like They Say They Wait, And They Do, For The Biggest a*****e To Come Around. But Hey, That's Their Problem Not Mine. I Just Think It's A Thing, Because Technically You Have More Than One First Time, Depending On How Many People You Are With. Because It's Never The Same Each Time. So I Definetly Hear You on This One As Well.

Ouch Huh. Now I'm Imagining It, Yeah Ouch. Hey I Don't Think Virginity Is A Big A Deal Today As It Was Way Back, But I Also Think It's Not Even Taken Serious Enough. For Some People It's Treated As A Pastime, Or A Sport. Haha Love The Story [And I'm Not Laughing At Your Personal Experience]. Reminds Me Of A Movie I Saw Once.

But I Saw It About A Year Ago. But I Believe It Is Called These Girls. And You Shouldn't Regret What You've Done. It's Over With, And You Seem To Be A Person Who Is Ok With Your Past.

You can all call me a b***h if you want, because I guarantee you probably won't like my opinion on this.
No, it is not their choice.
Sure, it's their body, but they are way too immature to make a decision like having sex. Their brains aren't developed enough to possibly even comprehend the seriousness of the consequences of their actions. If you don't believe me, study Psychology, and you shall see.
They are also under the care of their parents. If they truly believe they're old and mature enough to make a decision like having sex, then they should be thrown out of the house, because, if they can make that decision, surely they know how to find a job, yes? How to raise a family? Surely they know how to get a car and a license and how to deal with all of the legalities that this world has, yes? I'm telling you right now, some of the stuff out there has me clueless, and I'm 18. Then again, I also haven't been stupid enough to have sex before finding the so called "right one", which, by my standards these days, probably doesn't exist at all. It's brought me quite a bit of pain and deception, and has lost me a few relationships too, but you see, had I had sex with them and then they had left me, I would've felt it to be a waste of time.
So I say no, it is not their choice. They can hurt others and themselves. I had a great analogy for this subject, but I can't remember. Something along the lines of giving a mentally sick person a gun, or something of that sort.
So that's my say.
I agree with Huffon on the desires part, by the way. He is very right. Humans are very stupid, selfish animals that, in most cases, look out for themselves in the end.

Harsh But True At The Same Time. I Agree. Humans Are Selfish, And Destructive, But Not All Of Them Are Like That. There Are Some With higher Beings. There Are Good People Out There.
